  1. Welcome Nigel :) What weight are you looking to tow?
  2. I've used Blackcircles a couple of times - no problems.
  3. John, you will get more luck if you post your question in the GS forum. I suspect not too many IS owners will know the answer. I would imaging the beeping is for speed cameras or some other points of interest set up to alert on the Nav system.
  4. Auto boxes are just as slow to kick down, especially Lexus auto boxes which as set up for smoothness rather than performance. At least with the hybrid you have power from the electric motor whilst the engine revs up. If you need to overtake then as feanor has stated you either force higher revs via manual mode or at least put it into sport mode which will minimise any delay and use the electric power more quickly
  5. It has the 16" SE wheels and it doesn't look like it has parking sensors. You could also check via the registration number. Welcome Gaz :)
  6. Nav updates really aren't worth the money Lexus charge. They are still desperately clinging on to an old business model of charging £2000 for a nav unit and £150 for an update when you can get a better functioning system as an app on a smartphone for £20 with updates. If you do want an update then you can go direct to Lexus Europe which tended to be slightly cheaper via a dealer in the past - not sure if that is still the case http://www.lexus-mapupdates.eu/Home/Index
  7. P0420 is rarely the downstream sensor provided it is the right one, DOX-109 is a correct replacement. More likely a problem with the upstream sensors, a leak in the exhaust or the cat needs replacing. Where the old sensors Toyota/Denso OEMs or something else?
  8. DOX-0243 isn't listed as compatible with the series II RX engine. Denso in Europe don't sell a direct OEM fit and the series II RX300 didn't exist in the US so you cannot order from there. Why are you looking to replace all of the sensors?
  9. Michelin's are normally quite hard wearing so I'm surprised they don't wear, but I've never been a fan of them anyway. On my 400h I replaced the tyres twice, the first time I went with the OEMs mainly because there weren't too many options available in the required size. In the last few years there seems to be more choice. The second time I used Continental Sport Contact 5 SUV which I feel were an improvement - that was a couple of years ago so don't know if they are still an option. Evaluating tyres is very subjective, you never get a chance to test them back to back and whatever you get are normally always an improvement on what you are replacing as tyres tend to get noisier with age etc.
  10. I looked up on toyodiy.com for the hub assembly on a 2003 RX300, found the part code and then did a search on that part code across all vehicles and the 400h matched so it looks like some/all the parts are shared across the range - I'd advise you do a bit more research before committing though. These are the results, which hopefully will be visible to you with me sharing the link: http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/xref?s=42410-48040&mE=on
  11. Sorry not sure about the AZ/1Z. IMO the RE031 isn't a great tyre, Lexus rarely use good tyres as their OEM choice.
  12. The 250 is going there is no question of that. It is just whether they fully replace it or just have a token replacement. In the first two months of the year the IS300h has out sold the IS250 11.5:1. The 250 engine is too inefficient in the current marketplace.
  13. Either the control valve needs a clean or it just needs to settle down. Older Toyotas take a long time to reduce their idle speed to the correct speed after an engine ECU reset. I find the best approach is to drive the vehicle and at every junction stop completely, put it in Neutral and wait at least a few seconds before moving off again. Every time you come to a rest and the transmission is out of drive it will adjust the idle speed, lowering it if it is too high.
  14. Never really had a problem with mine. Not that it would make much difference to this issue but I'd run them at 34 or 36 psi rather than 32.
  15. Shocking really. The dealer is being paid by the warranty company to do the job, just looks like they are trying to profiteer by rushing or allowing somebody without the required experience perform the task.
  16. Yes it will be traffic updates. You need to make sure it either has a bluetooth data connection or a wifi connection with your phone. Is data working correctly, for example does google Street View work? Even when everything is set up this sometimes happens on my IS, but the next time I use the vehicle it behaves itself again.
  17. The original ICE system had screen in the headrest. That changed with the facelift in 2006. You will find quite a few vehicles will aftermarket systems installed too. Neither of the Lexus systems were very good, especially the early one.
  18. Correct they are both Atkinson, sorry I was thinking of the difference between the RX Gen2 and Gen3. I've not heard of these issues on the Camry/ES hybrid. To me the sound seems to come from the rear, possibly from the exhaust system rather than the engine. Do you notice any difference if you use Sport mode compared to normal?
  19. The 200t hasn't been announced, so it would be at least 6 months off before you could even order it - if you need a new vehicle now then get the 300h. It is difficult to know how Lexus will position the IS200t. It may be like the NX and only available as a high end F Sport, or they could release it as a complete replacement for the IS250 with different grade/pricing options. Economy should be better than the IS250 but won't come close to the 300h.
  20. I too have never had any vibration issues in a Gen 2 Prius, and I've driven many more miles in that vehicle compared to my IS300h. Personally I believe the engine runs a little faster in the Prius has it has less torque, but it is also a very different engine being a standard otto cycle engine rather than the Atkinson cycle engine in the IS and no direct injection.
  21. I'd double check what C1511 actually means for your vehicle rather than what a generic piece of software thinks. I've seen it listed as a torque sensor abnormal error for Toyota hybrid vehicle - part of an electric power steering system.
  22. Having said above ^^^ I do think RHD vehicles experience this, but maybe it is less. Certainly I've experienced it a few times and initially I thought it was just a piece of poor road surface that I was driving over. It happens so infrequently that I personally don't see it as an issue - it is so rare that the engine is running at 1,300 rpm for anything other than a fraction of a second with my driving style. My ECU was upgraded to the firmware that is meant to reduce this effect when I purchased it so no experience of how bad it is without the upgrade.
  23. I believe the RX450h systems are all HDD based so the update has to be installed by a dealer.
  24. They need to iron out any wrinkles - standard procedure. BO-0016L-0114_IR.pdf
