  1. At 75 mph I would expect 45 to 50 depending on which model you go for. Hybrids aren't great at high speed and once the IS gets above 70 mph the economy suffers. No problems with the engine or batteries - although a bit early to tell if there are any long term issues. Warranty is 3 years or 60k miles, you would soon go out of standard warranty so would have to purchase the extended warranty which would give you 5 years warranty/unlimited mileage for an additional £795.
  2. I don't know many that didn't think the series II was an improvement over the series I. The series III is too American looking for me. I think the series IV is an improvement, just that the front grille is a bit OTT.
  3. you pay more for electricity outside of the economy 7 period though - will you be better off switching? Is the 4 kWh / mile what it uses in energy to run or what it is taking from the mains? The system isn't 100% efficient so the two figures aren't the same.
  4. Yes it does. On the overview part of the prices and spec section it states Navigation, it is just the detailed equipment spec that doesn't. I suspect this is because the Nav system is essentially a third option which isn't listed yet. This is just that the website hasn't been updated yet. The official Toyota media press pack also hasn't been updated yet. I guess both will be done in the next few days. Also not so sure about the LED fog lights - the press release doesn't mention that, could just be a mistake on the website.
  5. Too few cars is what I meant. The difference in mpg reported on these forums is more extreme than on fuelly, mainly down to the owner's style of driving rather than age of their IS300h.
  6. Mine doesn't have any wear there, but then again my seatbelt doesn't rest there either as the drivers seat retracts when I switch off and undo the belt. When I had a courtesy IS300h for a couple of days the mpg history suggested that people didn't treat it that well, that together with quite a few scratches etc. on a vehicle with 3k miles on the clock
  7. Some times these things happen, partly to do with the alarm detecting the main power source is being tampered with - you sometimes get a couple of minute connections/disconnections as the lead arcs against the battery terminal as you put it on. I wouldn't be concerned provide everything is functioning correctly now.
  8. correct, the sensors are the same. What have you replaced it with, a genuine Denso sensor? Sorry I have to ask - did you replace the correct one?
  9. From Which? Group 1/2/3 child car seats There are many Group 1-2-3 seats available, which can be used from nine months all the way up to 12 years (9-36kg). These allow you to secure your baby in a five-point safety harness, then convert it to a booster seat when they reach 18kg (approximately four years old). Generally, car seats designed to span more than two groups do not provide good levels of protection in all weight groups. Most of our Don't Buy child car seats are Group 1-2-3 seats. You need to pay at least £200 to get a Best Buy Group 1-2-3 child car seat. Find out about our Best Buy Group 1-2-3 child car seats.
  10. The ABS pressure sensor is used to determine the master cylinder pressure. There are two further pressure sensors that determine the pressure within the accumulator. There are ways to test them - measure resistances with with/without pressure, however there doesn't appear to be a way to test whether the pressure at which it switches is correct. In all cases where the pressure sensors are suspect the repair manual states to replace the hydraulic brake booster assembly so it doesn't appear that these sensors are replaceable (at least by Lexus).
  11. I think the sample is too small to be able to draw any conclusions for the fuelly data.
  12. Testers exist, whether your dealer will have one I don't know as they just replace every two years anyway whether it technically needs replacing or not. If your vehicle has been serviced according to the Lexus schedule then the fluid would have been changed in the past it is just a question of whether it is due at the next service or the one after. For your piece of mind you could get it done at the next service if your dealer isn't able to determine when it was last changed however stretching to three years wouldn't be the end of the world either.
  13. The reset is just for the auto function to operate correctly, the windows/sunroof still operate with a light press of the button rather than a hard two-step press. As above it just sounds like the non passenger window operation has been disabled with the button on the drivers door
  14. Your service booklet should state the plug change interval. It is either every 60k miles, and therefore the next change would be at 120k miles, or every 100k miles.
  15. The reversing camera is the big difference however there are a few others: Reversing Camera Remote touch controller DVD player Connected services Live traffic update (although standard nav still has RDS-TMC for traffic info) Real time parking information Street View Send destinations from Lexus portal website to vehicle Not sure if you get speed camera warnings with the standard nav?
  16. Lexus have changed the service content so it may not match what is in your service booklet. The fixed price servicing info is available here: http://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/servicing-and-maintenance/#/ServicingYourLexus The service details are attached. 17. Lexus revised their IS300h range yesterday and as the story is still the same today I'm assuming this isn't an April Fools' day prank :) The IS300h Advance grade has been introduced - based on the existing Luxury grade but with Leather upholstery, heated/ventilated/electric front seats, and Sat Nav with reversing camera for only £500 more than the Luxury - a saving of over £3,000 compared to building a Luxury to the same spec. The SE price has been lowered £500 The F Sport price has been lowered £1,000 The Premier price has been lowered £1,745 The engine now meets Euro 6 regulations, CO2 emissions slightly reduced and economy improved. F Sport can now be fitted with an optional sunroof.
  18. A little bit of copper grease on the thread should stop it seizing.
  19. People have very different tolerance levels for rattles. I test drove many MK1 GS300s and was shocked how many rattles and creaks they all had, worse than my Supra which shared many parts. I ended up with a MK2 GS instead which itself is very poor on rattles but it had less road noise.
  20. Sorry to hear this Mark. Not sure what you can do other than, either through your dealer or directly, speak with the Lexus department at Toyota GB to see if they can help. If they haven't specified a replacement interval or even put inspection into the service schedule how are owners meant to prevent this from happening. Otherwise you would need to give an engine from a rear ended written off vehicle.
  21. The GS seems to suffer from problems with the transmission. Most, if not all, seem to be related to a bearing on a fluid pump which is easily fixed for a few £££ if you are mechanically minded and have the time - hopefully instructions our members have provided will enable most people to find a mechanic to fix this issue however take it to a Lexus dealer and they will want thousands of pounds to replace the whole assembly. The RX on the other hand doesn't really have any common faults, an issues tend to be isolated and could happen to any unlucky person with any vehicle. There have been some recalls to prevent issues occurring - so you should always check if these have been carried out.
  22. 100k miles on the RX is expensive because of the need to replace the timing belt. The GS engine has a chain so doesn't have this milestone. Boot space isn't great in the GS, that could be a factor in your decision.
