It is poor that the post code entry is hidden away on the second page rather than being the default button you are placed on when selecting destination, but after 10 months you would have thought even the most non-technical person should have stumbled across the option in that time.

When I first got my IS and I was stationary without the engine running I could hear a faint hum noise, almost like white noise which I thought was coming from the stereo - turns out it was the ASC, turned it off and will never turn it on again.

it sounds fuel mixture related rather than ignition so throttle body, idle control, fuel injectors rather than plugs/coils.

It isn't possible as standard, only with a third party auto-closure modification.

I doubt a dealer would be interested in giving you any allowance for your existing wheels - but I'm sure they would be willing to sell you a set of 17" wheels and tyres. Going with any wheels other than OEM ones would require you to notify your insurance company and depending on who it is they may charge you premium for the 'modification'. I think your best option would be to find an IS owner with 17" wheels who wants to upgrade to 18"s and do a swap.

Thanks Chris, two well known sites but always good to have a reminder every now and then. Very useful.

I would think the HKS plugs are performance ones rather than standard and therefore have a change interval or 30k miles - I suspect these are just rebadged Denso IK plugs as HKS don't manufacture them themselves. SK20 (standard OEM with 60k change internal) have a performance equivalent of IK20 (30k change interval). You should run a colder plug on a supercharged IS, therefore IK22. If you want a longer lasting plug then look at the VK22. Don't know the NGK alternative - nothing wrong with them but personally I just always stay with Denso, for no reason other than they are partly owned by Toyota and are the first choice OEM.

I'm assuming that your arm will work too so hopefully it will be of use when both hands are full. Otherwise it seems a bit redundant, if you have a hand free you can press the tailgate button on the remote or operate the release button.

Disconnecting the battery should clear it, or just drive it three times and if the fault isn't current the lights should/may (depending on error) go out.

We will have to wait for more information but the lack of anything meaningful probably suggests there is very little innovation here other than styling. This is no 'all new' RX just a update to the existing. It certainly isn't a 4th gen hybrid system, the engine isn't new just a minor rework of what is already there with a meaningless 5 hp more. Toyota have already said they have no immediate plans to implement CarPlay/Android Auto so we will have the same old slow, bug ridden, and unintuitive infotainment system. Other things new to the RX just seem to be updating the old to current Lexus standards, for example an AVS option and the PCS/ACC system gets auto high beams and lane assist which is standard on all NXs and an option on the IS. Hopefully all the things that were mentioned on the launch will be on the UK vehicles but Toyota GB/Europe have a habit of omitting certain things that are available the US and Japan.

Only the phone you select to be active will be able to do anything. You have to manually switch from one phone to the other by going into the settings, you are either using one phone or another. This selection is purely done on the vehicle, you cannot alter that with anything you do on the phone.

You will have to select yes to disconnect your existing phone to register the new one. It will be disconnected, you will register your wife's phone which will connect etc. then when you are finished you can select your phone again and it will reconnect - both as a phone and a music player. Once both phones are registered you have to select which one you want to use and the vehicle will remember that preference and will always try and connect to that phone until you change the selection. Unfortunately it won't auto connect to whichever phone is in the car.

You can register multiple phones, you just cannot have more than one connected at any one time. If your phone is connected to the vehicle both as a phone and music device you must disconnect both functions to register another phone. If after you are done you select your phone again it will connect both as a phone and a music player again. What you cannot do is connect to your wife's phone as a phone and your phone as a music player at the same time - the system will only communicate to one physical device at any one time.

Have you checked the boot opening hasn't been disabled with the switch in the glovebox?

Warranties nearly always replace just the faulty shock rather than a pair, be that standard or active suspension. The near side typically take more punishment with pot holes.
