  1. Do you have any other dealers near you?
  2. What are your reasons for having a hybrid health check? If it's to obtain a 12 month warranty extension to the hybrid battery then I doubt they could offer that as that warranty is provided by Toyota GB. If it is just to see how the hybrid system is performance then as they say I'm sure they can carry out the procedure.
  3. Lexus seem to fix the prices for a year, but it doesn't mean the price will change after that time. Lexus, on the whole, choose to keep the pricing the same for 2015 that they used in 2014, the same could happen in 2016. The marketing being used by dealers seems to imply that the pricing WILL go up and that you should act now to benefit from the deal
  4. There are a few importers of TRD parts, Fensport UK is one the springs to mind, but worth asking on the IS200 forum too in case other members can offer further assistance. I'm not sure if all the TRD parts for the Altezza are still available, and TRD parts are not cheap.
  5. The 24 months for the old 12 month price has been around for a long time now. Not sure if the £495 is a recent reduction (beginning of the year) however the Lexus website states all the current prices, including the CT £495 price, are valid until the end of the year: http://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/warranty-and-insurance/#/LexusCareExtendedWarranty
  6. I'd like to think that somebody has put a data logger on the vehicle to monitor all the sensor to see if something misbehaves when the issue occurs? To answer your IACV question, it shouldn't be related to that, it doesn't make that much of a difference. The ACIS system should only operate with a throttle angle of 30 deg or more so it is was the problem coming off the throttle would resolve the issue.
  7. Now sure how dealers continue to get away with this. It has been nearly 1.5 years since the new pricing was introduced. There is no price for 12 month anymore, they only sell 24 months for £495 and Lexus are committing to not alter this price until at least the end of 2015. They have made the warranty cheaper, the T&Cs force you to use Lexus dealers for servicing and the servicing rates have increase considerably in the last year.
  8. did it do this before you changed to the plugs you now use? Sounds like they might be fowling up when running on petrol with a cold engine running rich.
  9. I believe they were only available in blue or white and it should have the body kit and TRD suspension. Some of the changes were optional, for example the instrument cluster, so it is difficult to be sure what to look for. I haven't seen a definitive list of minimum changes that are made to a stock vehicle.
  10. People vote based against an expected level of performance for that category of vehicle, and associated price bracket. Obviously it is only based on a persons frame of reference, I doubt many Leon owners have experienced a Tesla Model S to compare it to.
  11. The diagnostic software has a key to enable Lexus vehicles. It is the same with the parts database. Without it they are somewhat restricted. However I suspect the answer was more related to policy/T&Cs from Toyota GB etc. rather than what is possible technically.
  12. Try and look up the part here: http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_E_1999_LEXUS_LS400_UCF20R-AEAGKW_4707.html put the part codes into google images as there are a few exploded diagrams available. Otherwise I'd go and see your dealer so you can look at the diagrams together to get the right part.
  13. I'm assuming you are speaking from experience? The LS400 starter is very time consuming to replace, and the MK1 is apparently the worst of the lot.
  14. given that the timing chain doesn't have a scheduled change interval I'd say that any work required shouldn't be treated as wear & tear however you would need to look in the T&Cs to see exactly what is/isn't covered.
  15. I suspect that if you have the remote locking set to only unlock the drivers door on first press, and then all doors on second press, then due to lack of use the rear actuator or locking mechanism seizes up to the point where the actuators are powerful enough to overcome the resistance.
  16. Yes it should be located under the drivers seat, potentially with a metal guard protecting it from being kicked which just swings down out of the way.
  17. Surprised that a single cylinder stopped the engine starting. Normally the GS300 engine will start/run (poorly) on 5 cylinders. I'm sure the tb will be in need of a good clean.
  18. Certainly seems to be a gen 1 ES250 or a Camry with a Lexus grille. Age is going to be around 1990, +/- a year or two.
  19. Toyota Techstream is really the only thing that can be used. Toyota don't release their proprietary diagnostics information so any other tool has just used a reverse engineering method to try and work correctly. The downside is having to pay a four figure sum to legally obtain the right to use Techstream. Our forum T&Cs don't allow the discussion of obtaining software illegally.
