  1. if you click on the 'more reply options', select the Choose File button at the bottom, then 'attach this file' button once selected. Then finally move the cursor to the position you want within your reply and then click add to post.
  2. Do you have a box for locking wheel nuts? I just have the socket, which fits into a dedicated space in the boot with the other tools. I assumed Toyota are starting to factory fit them hence no after thought accessory box. Yes, certainly check it isn't something foreign to the vehicle making the noise. For me it isn't, I don't have anything other than my phone holder which is secure and the charging lead which is taped down.
  3. no sorry I don't know for sure. It seems to be under the 0 on the rev counter in the US. UK is normally a mirror so potentially sits under the 8 of the rev counter on the other side of the instrument panel.
  4. this is somewhat common on some LS models but not heard of it on the IS F. Typically the cooler is sealed so either corrosion or a weld joint failure has to occur.
  5. do you have a picture? There is normally a metal plate just inside which can get crusted up with old oil, a bit like the following:
  6. Normally the check engine light should come on and then go off so you know it is working.
  7. one press will always activate the alarm. The operation is different depending on the year, the early ones always deadlock and I think the second press deactivates the interior sensor. With newer ones the second press activates the deadlocks and turning off the interior sensors involves a more complicated process. Do a search within the IS200 forum, this has been covered many times.
  8. Rev G is no longer the latest. There is a new release which can a completely different versioning scheme. Cannot remember it off hand, will post it up later.
  9. Password reset didn't work. I'll give Lexus a couple of days to try and figure it out otherwise I'll just create a new account.
  10. I have to drive down a particularly course road surface on my way to work, only just resurfaced so it is nice and flat but they used quite large stone chips, and I can hear 5 or 6 different rattles occurring at times on that road. My dealer has looked at a couple but didn't really resolve them.
  11. It is apparently difficult to change. It has been discussed before: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/61678-is-220d-fuel-filter-location/
  12. You probably should have tested the F Sport model, I assume you didn't? The 300h isn't that sporty, it isn't what it is designed to be. Hopefully the 200t will be good, once Lexus finally kill of the 250. The IS350 is good, sadly not available in this country. The Gen3 GS450h handling leaves a lot to be desired, straight-line performance however is great :)
  13. Is it doing it at different locations? If just in one location then there may be something else operating on the same frequency which is causing interference.
  14. Only used it a couple of times since being upgraded but I've already had the system lock up trying to browse my iPhone library, had to restart by pressing and holding the power button.
  15. I've only heard of a couple of issues and they have been repairable from a specialist. There aren't too many GS450h in the country but no reason the think those battery packs would be any less reliable than a Prius or RX400h. The transmission is the problem area on the GS450h but that seems to be an easy fix - take a look in the GS forum.
  16. not sure how you think hackers can steal your car with the connected services? Live traffic updates are good, probably not worth paying the extra money though. The third option now on the IS Advance seems a good compromise, essentially the standard nav but with a camera (although without the active guidelines).
  17. Normally this is when the surface of the disc is corroded, normally at the edge. This occurs when you have a sticking calliper meaning the disc surface isn't being used and therefore corrodes.
  18. Only around 70% of the engine power can get to the rear wheels, the remaining drives the generator to product electricity. There are other design and reliability reasons why all the power cannot be applied at the same time.
  19. Hi Darren 1 - You should keep it in drive or use park. In neutral the hybrid system cannot charge the battery if it needs to. If the Auris was a hybrid the dealer shouldn't have told you to use neutral. 2 - The system isn't designed to deliver maximum power from the engine and motor at the same time, hence you cannot just add the two figures. 3 - The lock is essentially the same thing as with an auto transmission, a small pin. In reality these are quite difficult to break so it isn't to much of an issue but like you I really don't like the idea of only just using it. A lot of owners don't use the handbrake (parking brake) but I recommend that you do, if for no other reason than to stop it seizing up due to lack of use.
  20. I've been putting that off but may have to give it a go. It certainly seems like an account issue. It wouldn't be so bad if dealers knew what the error codes meant, but they aren't given that info and they also don't get any release notes so have no idea what the software updates are meant to fix.
  21. Yes they could do that. Hard faults would typically make the warning light either come back on straightaway or after two ignition/engine cycles however faults, typically related to emissions, can just reoccur intermittently after a few days. Almost all of the cheap OBD readers will be able to connect to your vehicle and list any current error codes. That is typically all that you need, a quick internet search or posting here will get you information on what that error relates to. When you are diagnosing live faults you tend to want a more expensive reader because they work faster.
  22. Thanks Steve, I had already tried deleting the phone and starting again. Whatever I do I just get the id=214 error when connecting. Having spoken to Lexus customer service, who were completely useless and didn't even know what connected services was, I visited my dealer which resulted in my software being update from Rev G to the latest release. Still doesn't work and now I'm presented with id=0 all the time, but at least the whole system is more responsive (not sure if they have just sped up the animations or actually optimised the software). I've submitted some feedback on the online portal, not holding my breath
  23. The engine and transmission need to get up to working temperature. If you have the climate system on and it needs heat to get the cabin to the correct temperature then it will also need to run the petrol engine to get that heat. If you don't want the engine to start, if for example you just want to move the vehicle off the driveway, then press the EV button once the vehicle is 'Ready' before the engine automatically starts. You have to be very gentle though, when cold anything more than just touching against the throttle will bring up the 'excess acceleration' message and the engine will start.
