It is extremely rare for a Toyota engine to need this done at the first 60k mile check. Given the age it is probably worth at least checking the clearance, if any need adjusting then it is a pain because you need the proper tool and ideally a selection of shims to swap in and out, otherwise you need to check the clearances, remove the existing shims, measure them, put everything back together, calculate the different shim size, order the new shims, wait for them to arrive, strip down the vehicle again and hope the sizes are the correct ones.

Yep, never mentioned in the specs and looking at the current used Lexus vehicles most don't have parking sensors and the ones that do have them in different places where the dealer decided to drill the holes. Proper factory fit parking sensors, as on the RX450h, are integrated into the vehicle so you have warning on the display/dashboard rather than just some beeper hidden away somewhere with maybe a third-party looking on/off switch in the cabin.

If the filter was the problem then it would tend to only be noisy on startup and quickly go away. I doubt the noise is causing a problem so only use thicker oil if you want to reduce the noise from an annoyance point of view. Fully synthetic oil tends to be thiner compared to mineral oil for the same protection rating and therefore can make the engine noisier. I've used Mobil 1 oil with many cars in the past and every one sounded worse when I started using it.

No series II RX had parking sensors as a factory fit standard spec. These were dealer fit options, available on any grade. The SE-L by default, after late 2006 and before 2008, doesn't have the ICE package as standard but it was a option at time of purchase. On the Executive it was standard as it also was on the SE-L from 2008 onwards when the double DVD system was introduced.

Vehicle Excise Duty Changes In Budget
ColinBarber replied to PaulWhitt20's topic in Lexus CT 200h Club
Most new Lexus sales in the UK are for company car owners so it is BIK that is most important and the total ownership costs. Whilst the BIK percentages are going up across the board the hybrids will still be competitive against diesels. -
They won't do anything full stop. An 8 year old vehicle that could have been involved in all sorts of knocks etc. Take the back off and let it dry out, shouldn't take too long in the current hot weather. Otherwise remove the lights, place in the oven, separate and then reseal. The headlight assemblies themselves are expensive because of the adaptive lighting system.

Lexus Nx True Mpg

This thread seems to have gone off topic again. Please remember that anything other than NX mpg should be discussed in another thread. -
Vehicle Excise Duty Changes In Budget
ColinBarber replied to PaulWhitt20's topic in Lexus CT 200h Club
Indeed. Still not as bad for people looking to purchase a high performance vehicle such as the RC F or GS F, they will have an extra £2,000 added to the purchase price! -
Yes indeed although that is more of a yearly cosmetic update rather than a major facelift.

Thanks again for your reply. i have seen few 2007 models but they do not have that Hybrid Badge? does that mean they are not facelift models? They have been taken off, doors replaced in accidents etc. There shouldn't be a 2007 registered vehicle that wasn't a facelift unless it was in a showroom unregistered for a very long time.

Power consumption isn't a great way to determine how bright it will be, even for bulbs of a similar category such as halogen. A 55 Watt H3 bulb would have a light output in the range of 1,100 to 1,500 lumens depending on the quality of the bulb. To get that equivalent using high efficiency LED bulbs, that would probably total around 15 Watts in power consumption but again the quality of LED lights varies greatly so you may need over 20 Watts using less efficient LEDs.

Decided To Paint Mine As Well!

Looks very nice :) -
There are a few differences, the easiest way to tell is hybrid badges on the rear passenger doors which are only there on the facelift models. Other changes include MP3 playback on the stereo, revised indicator/wiper switches, new instrument cluster, new sat nav generation with improved screen, faster processor and a few extra features, improved reversing camera, acoustic windscreen and improved rear ICE system.

Does the standard battery fit the tray exactly so there is no sideways movement? If there is some movement the the clamp is holding it in place and your replacement should also be fine. You shouldn't over tighten the clamp as you could split the battery casing but you should be able to apply enough pressure to stop it sliding.

No, going bigger is worse.

This is a safety issue because the battery is located in the boot, which is essentially the cabin of a hatchback/SUV. If the vehicle was in an accident and rolled a normal battery's acid may leak out and come into contact with people inside. A gel cell, or an AGM, battery won't leak acid. Most of these types of batteries are also deep cycle batteries, so don't prematurely fail if they go flat on a few occasions. This is one reason why the 450h doesn't suffer the flat battery issue that the old 400h does.

There really isn't much that is required. Brake fluid every 2 years, oil and filter change every year and air filter when needed. Brake sliding pins should be checked every year to make sure they aren't seized up, or just re-lube them every two years. Your service book should state all the longer term items such as coolant and diff oil etc.
