  1. If you request a lower gear than the transmission is currently in then yes it will force a change - provided it won't take the engine over the rev limit.
  2. I'm not sure if M22 is only for an LSD diff. Is the seller able to give you the axle code from the VIN plate? Also the gear ratio may cause problems for an IS200.
  3. some part of the system isn't working correctly, not necessarily the braking system. More likely is a problem with the radar unit used to detect objects.
  4. According to toyodiy.com and jp-carparts.com http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_E_2005_LEXUS_RX400H_MHU38R-AWXGKW_8603.html http://jp-carparts.com/toyota/partlist.php?maker=toyota&type=521120&cartype=3&fig=8603 The following should all be orderable from your Lexus dealer Two brackets: 86274-48090 EMV & NAVIGATION SYSTEM-W(03EMV & 03NAVIGATION) 86274-48100 EMV & NAVIGATION SYSTEM-W(03EMV & 03NAVIGATION) 3 nuts to hold brackets to vehicle: 3x 90179-06159 3 bolts to hold brackets to side of Nav drive: 3x 90153-50012
  5. The hybrid system is smoother than any auto, the only slight thing you feel on the LS and GS is a single gear change at speed but that isn't too noticeable. If you could stretch to a series IV then that is worth doing, the vehicle is improved is practically every way. A major upgrade, much more than from the series II to series III.
  6. The update makes the system seemingly operate more quickly and smoothly, it may just be that the animations speeds are quicker. For me personally I find the latest update an issue because I listen to podcasts on my iPhone and when one finishes the system seems to hang and doesn't let me browse again without having to reset the system. If Lexus would publish these updates on their website or on the customer portal it would be quick and easy for people to upgrade, having to book an appointment and waste time and petrol to visit your dealer possibly isn't worth it for these minor updates unless you are impacted by a specific bug. Whether an update will fix an issue seems to be an unknown as Lexus don't issue release notes, not even to their dealers! You can probably tell I'm not entirely satisfied with the Infotainment system. Poorly implemented software combined with a lack of transparency and poor customer service isn't what I would expect on a £2,000 option. Given that they have such a bad system I would have expected Lexus to implement Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as quickly as possible and just give up, unfortunately they are taking the opposite approach and want to try and make as much money out of their existing investment as possible.
  7. You should be able to check if your vehicle has any outstanding recalls using the following function on Lexus' website: http://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/your-lexus/#/RecallInformation
  8. I'd say the two are not related. The most common cause for Check PCS is a faulty radar module. Are you able to use the radar controlled cruise control function?
  9. It went up to G and then the numbers changed. I'm on VD12102C. Therefore if you are on D then you are at least 4 versions out of date.
  10. Welcome Hira to LOC. I've moved this to the IS forum and removed other similar posts. Please avoid duplicating posts and opening threads that haven't been commented on for years.
  11. I'd speak to your dealer to make sure the mic is installed correctly. I've not had the same complaints with my 300H so I assume the system is good, unlike my old 400h where I use to get similar comments.
  12. All UK IS300s had an LSD, not sure if that is the case in other countries.
  13. Is that a problem or normal? In all honesty I've only noticed it after the 30k service recently but could have been before then. I'll keep a look out and try banging the calipers to see if they're loose. It isn't normal but not really a problem other than being annoying. If all the clips aren't in place or if there is just some wear then the pads can move slightly and bang against the calliper. This is only a possibility, there are many things that could cause this type of noise, hopefully you can narrow it down.
  14. If it is coming from the front then it could be the brake pads moving in the callipers.
  15. My 2008 400h SE has factory fit parking sensors. There is a warning buzzer with integrated green light built into the dash next to the mirror adjusters. The car also has an owners manual for the system. Definitely not dealer DIY. It's a Lexus accessory, they commission the parts to have manuals etc.
  16. Nobody has the need to purchase a car outright but it is almost always the cheapest way over the longterm. For your situation I'd look at alternative finance offerings outside of Lexus given that they won't offer you want you need. Even if they did you could probably find something more competitive elsewhere.

  18. Congrats Martin, let us know how you get on with it.
  19. Don't be too hard on yourself, the Premium grade isn't that bad :winky: The systems are the same, you may have different map databases or software versions which could change things. The border strips are documented in the manual, the standard road colours don't appear to be though
  20. Real time traffic status. Green is free flowing, red is bad, orange is slow. Arrows indicate the direction of traffic.
