No. I've had the following replaced due to faults: drivers seat base replaced due to movement in the mechanism under acceleration/braking new power steering assembly due to notchy steering - a known issue for the early vehicles rain sensor due to poor auto wipers performance once the resonance fix is signed off and available I will ask to have that fitted - I had the engine ECU software update performed to correct the issue but that didn't fully resolve it.

There could be a number of potential problems. Hopefully the mist was just water vapour. I'd suggest you don't turn on the AC until you get it looked at. Hopefully somebody can recommend somewhere near you. Your local Toyota dealer should be able to do an AC service, typically for around £50 which is about the same as anywhere else. If there turns out to be a fault then you can always get the repairs done elsewhere.

I contacted Toyota GB about oil and received the following: Thank you for your email regarding the oil type for your vehicle. I can confirm that the type of oil used by Lexus centres is stipulated by Toyota GB, you will be able to find out the exact code from you Lexus centre. I would therefore say that Toyota GB would be interested if you feel the correct oil isn't being used. Ultimately the dealer could lose their franchise if they continuously don't conform to policy.

Welcome Owen. I've never had that problem. Check there is nothing stuck in the gap, e.g. polish etc, otherwise it looks like you have a faulty sensor.

Siri is useful because you can dictate a reply to a text/iMessage rather than typing whilst driving.

Welcome to LOC. Enjoy your new vehicle, soon :)

Congrats, roll on the weekend :)

Should work on a 4S. You can receive texts and iMessages, you just cannot send from the vehicle - but you should use Siri for that anyway. You should have been able to read texts even without 3G, you will also get iMessages now though. The setting is on the phone, not the vehicle. Settings > Bluetooth > press the info button next to the Lexus in My Devices and turn on 'Show notifications'

Well two coils don't fail at the same time. It's possible for one fault to trigger two cylinders, or even more likely an injector. We see this so many times, people are charged for multiple coil packs when it isn't necessary - people just reading error codes and assuming that gives you 100% accurate information; the error code is there to give you a starting point to diagnose the fault. :( Let's hope you will be error free now.

Srs Airbag Warning
ColinBarber replied to sota's topic in LS 400 / Lexus LS 430 / Lexus LS 460 / Lexus 600h / Lexus 500h Club
That battery is past its best. You should be getting a reading of around 12.8v after a night of standing. -
Toyota coils packs don't have a service schedule against them. Plugs do because they can wear down and the electrodes can break off, damaging the engine. Coil packs can fail but don't cause damage and unlike cheap German parts don't routinely fail after a period of time. Hopefully it will be easily fixed. An injector would certain cause the issues you are experiencing.

Rx400H Battery
ColinBarber replied to jap lover's topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
I haven't had a problem with my battery but would a portable jump pack be an option ?... there are loads of really small ones out there now, some even fit in you pocket & hold a charge for 3-12mths ... > http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12V-Portable-JUMP-STARTER-Booster-Car-Battery-Charger-Mini-Power-Pack-Light-ALL-/171455730304?hash=item27eb8ed280 I'm sure that would work. These lithium-ion battery packs are good because they are small, lightweight and hold their charge for many months. You probably won't even need to use the start facility, just the standard 12v output. The 200A starting current isn't something that is important to a hybrid as the battery won't be used to turn over the engine via a starter motor. The only thing that would concern me is the non-name brand. How good is the quality of the 12v output and how well implemented is the internal battery charging circuit - you don't want this thing to explode or catch fire. Alternatives are the bigger jump packs, typically an air compression and boost pack all in one. These use a lead-acid battery and so are bigger and heavier, and like a car battery they don't like going flat so you need to keep them charged up. -
Rx400H Battery

There isn't going to be a fix, it is a vehicle that is 6 years out of production! The current models can all typically survive 4 weeks without an issue, some standard petrol and diesel vehicles don't last longer. If you leave it more than four weeks you are advised to disconnect the battery. -
Lexus Nx True Mpg
ColinBarber replied to jawadarif's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
The specs aren't the same on the website, the NX has around 200 bhp and the IS 220 bhp. The main difference is the IS engine has direct injection, a higher compression ratio and more power. The NX engine was reused from the ES300h - together with the transmission it is designed as a transverse engine suitable for front wheel drive vehicles. -
Music Question....
ColinBarber replied to Crowtree's topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
PZ420...... is just part of the Toyota/Lexus part code, it doesn't give any clues as to who the OEM is. I don't know who they used, Pioneer make the actual stereo so maybe they also do the adapter but it could be somebody else. I don't think these official products work any better than a good third party one. -
Moving From A Ct To An Is
ColinBarber replied to PaulWhitt20's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
99% of the time you wouldn't tell the difference between front wheel drive or rear wheel drive, unless you purposely want to get the back end out or there is snow on the ground. The current IS rear seats fold down so it isn't as impractical as a more traditional saloon. As you say the CT doesn't have a big boot anyway - one reason I'm reluctant to upgrade my wife's Prius to a CT is the lack of space. I'd recommend you test drive one and make up your own mind. The biggest difference is the refinement, the IS engine doesn't have to rev up nearly as much as the CT engine. -
It isn't that difficult a job so shouldn't cost more than £200 from an independent. Costs go up if the tensioner/idler pulleys/water pump need replacing at the same time. Lexus charge £295 under their 5 year + essentials pricing. The timing belt interval for the IS200 was lowered to 60,000 miles due to issues with wear. Not because of the belt itself but an installation design issue with the guides. If you belt is close to a change interval I would strongly recommend you inspect it to make sure it isn't being worn down. You should be able to take the top cover off to see it quite easily. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/57335-check-your-timing-belt-early/

you can look on: https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk sometimes a vehicle is categorised more than once so you need to add all the figures together. In terms of official figures the LS sold 584 in 2007, which was a good year, and only 20 in 2012. No breakdown of the different grades though: http://media.toyota.co.uk/wp-content/files_mf/1436885430LexusUKYearBookbymodel9015.pdf

Lexus Nx True Mpg
ColinBarber replied to jawadarif's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
The NX doesn't have the same engine as the IS. -
I wonder if a different antenna would improve things? It would either be an antenna issue or a poor connection from the antenna to the headunit.

ColinBarber replied to Crowtree's topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
Unlike a lot of other Lexus vehicles the series II RX stereo is separate from the other controls so you can replace it without too many issues, other than as you say losing the steering wheel controls. Something like the GS is much more challenging because the climate controls are all integrated with the stereo, certainly on the Nav versions. Adapters should be available, the Grom units for example use standard Toyota adapters - I think there are two types though so you need to make sure you get the correct one.
