  1. No security codes on any of the IS200 head units.
  2. Try moving the mirror from full top/bottom/left/right a few times to see if that helps clean up the position sensor. Otherwise as above, the the mirror selector position to the middle to stop the drop during reversing.
  3. possibly a slightly corroded disc or glazed pad? I'd try a few heavy braking procedures from high speed first.
  4. Have a look on rockauto, third parties probably sell the bushing on its own.
  5. You can tell the difference between the F Sport and Premier, both on 18" wheel, and you can again notice the difference between the Premier and the models with 17" wheels. Whether the ride is too firm is down to personal opinion so I'd recommend you test the different options. Personally I'd like it a little softer but the styling and the colour option made me choose the F Sport. Actually the suspension pack, AVS, is slightly softer than the standard F Sport in the normal settings, only in Sport + mode is it harder.
  6. If they are Denso then yes they are good. Rock Auto also provide an excellent service.
  7. The AC is driven by the engine on the GS430. On a hybrid it is electric, but even then the energy used has to be replaced somehow so the petrol engine runs longer and more often, reducing mpg.
  8. In the US the boot size change came at the end of 2008. Cannot confirm or deny that change also occurred for the UK vehicles - no reason why not but there doesn't seem to be a press release about it. The series 4 (current model) in 2012 has a much bigger boot, and the car is better in every other way too. I'd try and stretch your budget to that, or wait until the prices drop a little bit. The series 3 is not the most reliable Lexus, still more reliable than most but was built during the time when Toyota's cost cutting was in full force and it was really only a minor update on the series 2, so it is a bit dated with a poor chassis.
  9. Welcome back. Radiator switch for the fans can be a problem, but so can the thermostat too.
  10. I don't think there is because Apple don't allow low level access to the hardware required to emulate a series interface.
  11. This fella? https://www.avito(blocked word)/moskva/zapchasti_i_aksessuary/glu****el_srednyaya_chast_17403-20170_468628928
  12. You need to be a bit careful comparing the US and Euro RXs. Obviously on the series II there is the engine difference as the RX300 was never available in the US, they had the RX330, but there are sometimes transmissions difference too. For example on the series I, all Euro models had a separate transmission cooler fitted under the OS headlight. This was never fitted as standard on the US models, although it possibly was with the optional towing pack. The reason was extra cooling was needed with the higher average driving speeds in Europe. Your new part, according to some of the online EPCs, show the newer part code being fitted from 2004 onwards but one reference seems to imply it can be retrofitted to the 2003 models. It is a similar thing with that strut part code. The newer one is for 2006 models onwards, I cannot find anything that explicitly states it can be retro fitted to older vehicles. Increments by 1 or by 10 are common with Toyota part codes. Not entirely sure what the difference is - slight modification, different supplier etc. Sometimes modifications are improvements to performance/reliability and others are just driving down supply chain costs.
  13. Up to a 10% different in economy can be expected. How cold is the air coming out of the vents, that is the easiest way to determine if things aren't working as well as they should be.
  14. The E51a (LX) are specific OEM tyres made for Lexus, hence they are a bit more difficult to find and more expensive than their normal models. You should be able to find them though. http://www.yokohama-online.com/Tyres/OE-Tyres/Lexus
  15. Good job Chris. In theory your Toyota/Lexus dealer would be informed of the new part when they enter the part code into the EPC system, and typically if the part is a direct replacement the old part wouldn't even be available any more.
  16. The Lexus used car warranty should cover the Nav system, if not the sales of goods act will be your friend. "All Approved Pre-Owned Lexus Car Warranties have the same level of cover as the Lexus new vehicle warranty, with the exception of batteries, interior trim and corroded exhausts."
  17. The Nav system is good enough, but really it should be a £100 option, and maybe £300 for the premium version, not the excessive amount Lexus are charging, especially when they want £150 for each map update. Even though I have the premium nav in my IS I use a Brodit phone holder for my iPhone 6, and use a flat cable which isn't too noticeable. I'm able to use different Nav applications and I'm able to control music from the phone rather than the hit and miss of the infotainment system. The bonus is my trips to/from work keep my phone charged up.
  18. The issue of an under capacity RX battery is hardly the same thing as major component failure.
  19. Sadly the GS seems to use 10 year old technology, it is different to the IS.
  20. The problem is there is no precedent here. 2009 is the first year of the RX450h so we have very little data to predict longer term reliability. If we base an opinion from the RX400h then there is little need for a warranty (although anybody can be unlucky even with the most reliable car). If we base it on the GS450h series III then I'd certainly recommend a warranty as the series III GS, along with the IS220d, certainly fall short of the reliability image that Lexus has built up over the years.
  21. Small creaks have always plagued the GS, the main exception being the current series 4 which is better. Compared to a Mondeo the GS is very quite which makes it easier to hear all these little annoyances.
