  1. DOX part numbers are used by Denso Europe. 234-9051 is an american Denso part number. Looks like Denso have finally started distributing this sensor in Europe now, hence the DOX number, so owners don't have to import them from the US, either directly or through a distributor.
  2. You have been able to pick up an IS250 much cheaper than the equivalent IS300h for a very long time now, even at a higher price it massively outsells the IS250. Lexus haven't discontinued the IS250 because of the hybrid, the engine is too inefficient so they have replaced it with the 200t.
  3. you have the standard trip mileage you can reset on the odometer.
  4. I'd negotiate a trade-in price with your dealer then look to sell privately for more money between putting down your deposit and collecting the new car. Most dealers will let you do that.
  5. I guess the public made up their mind given that the 300h outsold the 250 28:1 in 2015 and so have Lexus given that the 250 is now discontinued.
  6. I had a similar issue with my 400h, kept one of the seats slightly forward to stop it rattling.
  7. You shouldn't have to use 97+ RON fuel in the RX450h, 95 RON is fine. Whilst it is possible I wouldn't have thought carbon build-up would be that great on a 2012 model, especially a hybrid where the engine would have done a lot less revolutions compared to a standard petrol engine with the same mileage. The IS250 suffers from carbon build-up on the intake valves because it is direct injection, no fuel washes the valves. This isn't the case with the RX450h which uses a conventional injection system so build-up is less likely.
  8. It could be a number of things. Is the idle speed consistent and normal?
  9. The 400h has a visible exhaust tip ;) I cannot believe the RX will start at £40k. They will have to alter the NX pricing if it is true. Currently the NX petrol is listed as more expensive compared to the hybrid and here we are suggesting the RX petrol will be £5k less.
  10. Who said there was no issue? I stated there is no common fault here, we don't get multiple owners complaining of this issue. I certainly never had an issue with either my GS300 or my GS430, and nor have the hundreds of owners here. From what you describe the fly by wire throttle system could be an area for investigation. Whilst no fault codes are generated, by data logging all the sensors you would probably get a good indication of where the fault is occurring, by looking at the data when the issue occurs.
  11. Yes on the premium nav you don't get the house number option when entering a post code, only when you enter the full address. Another reason not to use the Lexus system and just use your smart phone :(
  12. Look to import from the US, plenty of third party products available which even if they only last half as long as the OEMs mean you're ok for another 7 years. Take a look at Rockauto.com as a starting point.
  13. There are other greases that don't damage rubber, red rubber grease for example, not just silicon grease. However the point is correct, the bushes shouldn't be lubricated as you don't want the suspension component moving within the bushing.
  14. It is the shift lock button, probably with a cover over it, which allows you to manually move the transmission level out of Park if the battery is flat?
  15. I think some insurance companies won't cover a Cat D vehicle so your choice may be slightly limited but shouldn't be too much of a problem.
  16. + fluid pump in transmission failure hybrid battery cells become unbalanced, busbar connectors corroded.
  17. You have LS430 in your profile, posted in the RX forum and mention a GS - can you confirm which vehicle and what year?
  18. It could have gone off multiple times, it just didn't repeat enough to flatten the battery. Unfortunately you don't get any indication that the alarm has gone off when unlocking the vehicle. I've owned cars in the past that would flash the lights a different number of times depending if the alarm had been triggered or not.
  19. I don't think there is any real difference in sound quality between the two styles of headunit.
  20. The only thing I can suggest is to make sure all the fuses are ok.
  21. They are quite rare these days. There is a blue one on auto trader at the moment. http://www.martynscarsales.co.uk/used-car-lexus-is-200-20-sport-cross-5dr-service-vosa-history-rar-367
  22. Just to make sure I wasn't making it up I searched the forums and everybody has always stated the head units do not have a security code - and that has never been challenged. I'm sure Lexus haven't used security codes since the mid 90's. My old IS200 sport certainly never asked for a security code even after the battery was disconnected.
