  1. Yes very nice. Please let us know how they compare after you have had a bit of time with the RX.
  2. The extra noise should only be apparent on hard acceleration. I'm not against them, I just don't think they make the difference they claim to, certainly not on a Toyota engine with a genuine Toyota filter, and this is based on me using them on a couple of cars in the past and other people's feedback. I also don't think they represent value for money once you factor in the oil you need to purchase and your time in performing the cleaning etc. Even if you are careful, and even when they are new pre-oiled, they do coat the MAF sensor with oil so over time your engine will run less efficient - you should clean your MAF every couple of years anyway but maybe every year with an filter than uses oil. Let's hope my experience isn't the same with the RX300 engine. If it makes a positive difference then everybody here stands to benefit. :)
  3. What size are your new snow tyres and your standard ones?
  4. There is something not quite right. From an owner's point of view there is nothing you can do, or nothing you need to do just because the battery was changed. There is a hidden service menu that may help, but you could also makes things worse if you aren't careful. Look 3/4 down the page on the following link for the video - you need to press the display button and then you press the screen in the top left/bottom left corners three times to bring up the menu. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/89511-hidden-service-menu/
  5. Do you get any post code support at the moment? The thought the old systems supported the first part of the post code? The updates do not give you full post code support. :(
  6. That part code is correct if you have a generation 2 vehicle with a 5 speed transmission? Euro car parts list a Denso direct fit for £94. The rear sensor isn't anything special, unlike the front ones, so ones not directly listed as compatible should work, it is just lead length, connector, and any rubber grommet that needs to match. An alternative would be to import from the US. I believe the RX330 uses the same sensor as the RX300 (the RX300 was never available in the US). Please be aware that a suspected rear sensor or more often than not actually another issue, such as a front sensor, exhaust air leak or Cat. convertor problem. What error code(s) are being triggered?
  7. The 200T has a reversing camera if you spec the correct grade or add the correct option - no different from the 300h. The 200t currently lacks some of the grades that are available with the 300h though.
  8. Not new, just low cost. It has the basic nav system which doesn't get the 'mouse' which is reserved for the premium nav system.
  9. With the windows closed you may find it makes things worse, there is something else there creating wind turbulence.
  10. Eco would have very little affect on mpg at high speed. It cuts the petrol engine out quicker than normal mode but that can't happen at high speed. It will also dull the throttle response to avoid unnecessary acceleration, again this has very little impact at high speed. There are many ways to drive at 80 mph. If you drive within a range, say 70-85, when you slow down going up hills and speed up going down then you are much more fuel efficient. Also when you are slowed down do you gently accelerate or put your foot flat to the floor to get back up to speed again? On a run like that you should be seeing 50+ mpg.
  11. I'd speak to your local dealer. The parts department should be able to give you the correct disc part code for your nav unit based on the VIN/chassis number of your vehicle. You can then determine whether the disc set you purchased was correct or not.
  12. I don't think they will help, they are designed to allow you to drive with the windows slightly open. Try cleaning all the rubber seals. Either use a silicon spray or use neat washing up liquid and wipe off.
  13. If you got the disc from the official Lexus map site then no reason to think it isn't correct. Does your old disc still work? That nav unit has the wrong part code - it should be 08662 not 08862. I personally wouldn't risk buying a Toyota TNS300 nav unit, it may work but I'm not confident.
  14. Have you had the electrical system looked at? Is the 12v battery ok, is the alternator ok and not providing over-voltage? Are the earth straps ok. There is very little that could be at fault. 12v battery and alternative power the ECU and the ECU is directly connected to the six coil packs. Are your plugs the correct ones for the engine? Are the coil packs the correct ones for the engine? If everything checks out then I can only assume the ECU is at fault but I find that very unlikely.
  15. Not sure what you are reading but I didn't say anything of the sort. I said the stock filter isn't that restrictive so there is little to be gained by using a different filter on an unmodified engine. Never said K&N filters restrict airflow, what they don't do is filter the dirt particles as well as the OEM filter - because they are less restrictive. The drop-in filters do add a bit of noise, certainly not as much as a cone filter but they do add a little bit compared to the OEM filter.
  16. Yes that is correct and how it is with the IS.
  17. Toyota traction control has always been a bit too eager to engage. With the hybrids it is more so because it is preventing damage to the electric motor, if it becomes unloaded it will rotate too fast.
  18. It goes down the A pillar and down in front of the door. It seems a weird design in that the pipe doesn't extend to the outside, it stops short and water just falls into the sill and from there it drains out. If the outlet gets blocked then the water builds up and out inside the vehicle. I'd pour some water down the other side so you can see where the water exits and then unblock the other side - it should be a small slit where the sill and floor combine. Not sure the picture above is for the correct generation of RX, I thought it had four drain outlets, not two.
  19. No, because the 18" wheel grades have the same 225 width tyres on the front as the 17" grades have all around. Only the rears are larger at 255.
  20. If you are using auto (without turning off the AC) then it should never steam up. Only if the AC is off will it do so and only then if you have recirculate on, or if it is raining outside.
  21. The old (current) RX set up would probably result in too high CO2 and BIK brackets compared to what Lexus are aiming for however the new RX however almost matches the NX economy and emission figures which proves that Lexus really could have done a lot better with the NX if they had tried.
  22. On the IS and NX the difference between the modes is more significant than with the current RX. It also greatly depends on the type of driving, the biggest difference would be in urban areas at 40 mph or less.
