  1. The auto wipers on my old 05 400h were light years ahead of the rubbish on the IS. I've had the sensor replaced under warranty, sadly it made little difference.
  2. They did, the first generations of Ford Sync. Ford then ditched it because they wanted something that was actually usable and stable. Never tried it myself by apparently it wasn't a great user experience.
  3. That's the whole point of this thread - an owner of a Premier has found the F Sport, which he had as a courtesy car, had a more refined ride which goes against what is expected.
  4. You can create an account on the Lexus European portal and download a manual for the UK/Euro variant vehicles https://customerportal.lexus-europe.com/login/index.html
  5. Mine are appalling, borderline dangerous if you wait expecting the screen to be cleared and then a few minutes later it insists on continuously wiping across a dry screen :(
  6. There were over 90 changes to the facelift CT - a stiffer body by using more weld points and adhesives, revised suspension, revised steering, remapping of the engine/transmission to reduce noise under moderate acceleration, improved mpg, reduced CO2, styling and aerodynamic changes, improved interior trim details, improved infotainment system, new steering wheel etc. I've not spend much time with either revision so not sure how much of a change you will notice day to day, most of the revisions are quite minor but all combined add up to a notable difference.
  7. Nearly all Toyota engines can adapt to 97 RON fuel so after one or two tanks you should see a slightly improved mpg compared to using standard unleaded available in the UK. The price different between the two fuels normally means the extra mpg doesn't offset the extra cost so I don't personally bother with it. Certainly higher performance fuels do contain additional cleaning agents. That potentially may be of benefit of the normal fuels you use don't do enough to keep the engine clean (most do).
  8. I think it is safe to assume it will use the new Prius drivetrain so essentially the same engine with a new transmission to give a more conventional feel and better refinement to remove some of the drone associated with the high reving engine.
  9. The actual cost of the vehicle and what Lexus feel the owners can afford, the same reason why the LS costs £50 more than the IS. For the CT they try and keep costs down to keep the fleet buyers happy too.
  10. On the phone go to settings > bluetooth and press the i icon next to the vehicle in the my devices section. Make sure Show notifications is enabled - that should allow messages to be received. You cannot reply to messages, that is a restriction that Apple enforce, you should use Siri instead.
  11. Yes all generation II RXs. Discussed to death here: http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/71469-rx400h-reversing-lights-or-lack-of-lexus-email/
  12. Everything on the vehicle constitutes an element of profit. Whilst the Toyota Production System allows for a huge variations in consecutive vehicles on the assembly line, Lexus GB have a philosophy of having as few options as possible, and having a items fitted as standard to all vehicles is certainly the cheapest way to provide a feature. This is no different having the option to purchase a vehicle without a stereo - it isn't going to happen. I'm not familiar with the regulations for pedestrian safety, it may be that the design of the low bonnet and high mounted engine make it compulsory for the pop-up hood. Alternatively by having this feature fitted the insurance rating the vehicle received is probably less than if it didn't have it and therefore it is saving you money every year.
  13. There are a few locks out there that can work via bluetooth low energy or NFC so they will unlock with your mobile phone when you get very close, and they allow you to unlock the door remotely via an app to let somebody in if they don't have a key. Most of these are in the US - not sure if they comply with the UK standards that insurance companies will insist on.
  14. Toyodiy.com show the same part being used for all years, 06 to 11 for the 450h and 05 to 11 for the non hybrid. Part number 53301-30450.
  15. The confusion is the use of the word 'alternatively'. I'm sure this is just a translation issue and should say 'and then'. The blade has to be fixed to one of the shells otherwise it would fall out. You may be able to cut out the old and new blades and glue your old one into the new shell but I'm not sure how long that would last.
  16. connect your device to your computer. In iTunes, click on the device and then select File > Devices > Transfer purchases from ..... https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201267
  17. Sorry to hear about your misfortune, unfortunately these things happen from time to time. Glad everybody is okay.
  18. When you backup you need to allow it to download missing apps on the computer from the phone and then when you restore you let iTunes copy back the applications rather than letting the phone try and download the apps directly from the store.
  19. Toyota/Lexus have used Pioneer audio systems for years. The Nav is Pioneer so the audio system will probably be as well - it may even be an all-in-one unit.
  20. The 20k services specify very good quality synthetic oil though, Mobil 1 or Castrol Edge for example. There is no reason why Mobil 1 oil in an RX300 wouldn't last 18k miles. That also shows the lack of skills these days that exist in main dealers. They would rather swap out an engine for £5k rather than a simple rebuild.
