Halfords one should fit it is listed for the vehicle. I think they charge for fitting but that would make it their problem to resolve if it didn't fit correctly. No problem with being flat for that long other than you will need to initialise the auto windows, sunroof and possibly power tailgate (if you have one).

Auto trader isn't showing it as a cat D if you try and create a sell ad for it (a good way to check for free :) ) Just looks like it may have had a repair to the rear end (you cannot tell the quality of the paintwork from the low quality pictures on eBay), or a scam. No other reason to try and sell it £5k below market value.

Worth phoning your dealer for a quote, sometimes they can be competitive on battery prices and other times not. You do need to get a battery compatible for the vehicle to ensure it will fit. Most of the websites (Halfords, Euro car parts etc) allow you to put in the vehicle details and provide you with the best option. Try and get something with the best warranty - 3 or 5 years for example. Cost will be around £70 to £100.

I guess what Lexus are saying is that there isn't a fundamental issue with the design and therefore there is a specific issue with your vehicle. If that is the case then your dealer should be replacing all the parts necessary to resolve the issue. Lexus will soon get involved if the dealer starts making a huge warranty claim and they will send out their engineers to inspect.

I did, although I didn't really spend enough time with it. Compared to my old RX400h it certainly cornered better however I did find the ride a bit unsettled on a stretch of the M3. A slight annoyance was the mechanical indicator return. Having become use to electronic indicator stalks in the IS I though the days of fighting with the indicators when wanting to go right but turning left onto a roundabout were over - I don't understand why the NX being newer than the IS has an older system.

There was no charge for the courtesy car, or a charge to lower the insurance excess down to £50. I suspect the charge they mentioned (via their centralised call centre for bookings) might apply only to the Toyota part of the dealership and not Lexus.

Yes, looked at a RC in the showroom and it had a more metallic look. Possibly slightly lighter too although you really need the two together to properly compare. The pic I posted of my car does look darker compared to yours but that could be down to differences in camera and lighting conditions etc.

I'd say it is very unlikely the NX300 would come to the UK. Lexus are against plug-ins, they don't feel their customers would want the hassle of plugging in the vehicle.

No, and now it isn't

Had an NX300h SE as a courtesy car for a day whilst my IS300h was being serviced. I went my normal journey home from work, which is about 15 miles in length, to check how the economy compares. In my IS I get between 48 and 61 mpg, according to the fuel computer, depending on how I drive, weather, traffic etc and having driven this journey hundreds of times I know quite well what mpg I would get. For this particular trip I'd expect to get around 55 mpg in the IS and I got 48 in the NX. This NX only had 100 miles on the clock and whilst modern engines don't really need running in (most improvements people experience is more to do with getting use to the car and a hybrid system rather than the engine loosening up) I'd expect a slight improvement and also getting more use to the vehicle should allow an improvement to 50 mpg which means it is around 10% less efficient than the IS which isn't too bad considering it has a less efficient engine, slightly heavier and is less aerodynamic. My journey to work was slightly different from normal and I got 43 mpg in the NX. Normally in the IS it is around 48 mpg.

Booked mine in a week ago and was told there may be an insurance charge. Goes in next week so I'll report back. I won't be happy if there is a charge. Not only have Lexus increased servicing costs to be about the most expensive compared to the competition (£245 for basically an oil change) but they are also wanting to charge for a courtesy car. It's not as if the service is good, my last 4 visits have all resulted in damage to my vehicle or poorly executed work.

I'm not so sure. More likely that Lexus are putting pressure on US dealers selling parts for international shipping which is affecting sales in-country.

I assume you mean replace the standard HID lights with LEDs? I'm not aware of a conversion for the IS, maybe others can help.

Welcome Tim. I believe even the base grade had TPWS so your SE will certainly have it. You are not the first person to say they cannot find the button but I'm sure it is there. You really need to kneel down outside the vehicle and put your head into the footwell to see it. Once you know where it is you should be able to reach down and press the button from the drivers seat. I think it is out of the dealer's hands even if they had enquiries, the highly competent people that run the Lexus website and backend database need to add the RC model options to the user car section.

Packaging will always have Toyota on it - Lexus isn't much more than a marketing department, with a few designers assigned to the division, they have to use the Toyota parts bin. In theory Toyota dealers shouldn't be able to order parts that are only specific to a Lexus model but most will. I've certainly heard of these servo motors causing problems before.

If the timing belt is one tooth out it can cause this error. Worth checking your timing in case a belt change wasn't performed correctly or the belt has jumped.
