  1. It's instant on my IS, no waiting. Do you also want to go back to winding windows, door mirrors that you need to physically move to adjust them etc. etc.?
  2. I think your I think your pricing is out of date. The last IS200t F Sport price I've seen is £32,245 and Lexus have increase pricing for the second time this year in the last few weeks across the range, which is reflected in the facelift pricing.
  3. 2 - All IS300h have this issue to some extend or another, for most it is very minor and many drivers don't notice it. You shouldn't be concerned that you have had the mod done. Can you provide the long reference number of the fusebox?
  4. you need to find out the fault code(s) that have been stored, without them it is just speculation. Those warning lights can come of for dozens of different reasons.
  5. Good that it is nothing wrong with the car. Tyres are easy to replace although it's an expensive you probably could do without. What model and size of tyres do you have, clearly they are ones to avoid?
  6. I believe the rear washer motor is 85330-60180, the front is 85330-60190. The level warning switch is 85397-52100. I'd check fuses and electric connections first, these don't normally cause a problem. These are common parts used on many Lexus and Toyota vehicles. It may be cheaper to get them from the Toyota dealer.
  7. One thing to remember is if you take out a Lexus extended warranty you also need to use Lexus dealers to service the vehicle. Lexus servicing is expensive, with or without a service plan it makes no difference. You can easily get an independent to service it cheaper, however that could decrease the resale value slightly.
  8. No, it only covers the battery, not the expensive hybrid components.
  9. There are drivetrain issues which causes a resonance at certain engine speeds (cruising around 50 mph can do it on my vehicle). When you hear the noise, change down a gear to see if it improves. There is a TSB for vehicles with this issue. More detail in this thread linked below. Initially there was just a software update to reduce the time the engine spend at the problematic rpm, now there is a damper that is fitted to the rear.
  10. If you are wanting to understand the different grade options the following may help:
  11. It would be a good reason if it were true, however the IS350 and is sold in Japan and Australia.
  12. Connecting a 12v source to the battery terminals, or charge points, on a hybrid to get the system into a 'ready state' is much much safer than jumping a traditional petrol/diesel car. The current required to 'start' the hybrid system is much lower than trying to crank an engine so there is little risk in spikes or dips which are common causes of damaging ECUs and blowing fuses etc.
  13. The 200t engine is shared across multiple vehicle ranges so that must go some way to making it worthwhile. It is a strange one though, they would probably sell more IS350s than IS200t if it was available. The LS hasn't sold more than 100 in a year since 2009, that must be difficult to justify its ongoing existence.
  14. The hybrid system on the Gen4 Prius is a big improvement on the older systems currently used in all the Lexus vehicles. The chassis is also a big improvement, which is TNGA based.
  15. That is a bit of a generalisation. Dunlop have many different models of tyre, all with different characteristics. Many of the Dunlop tyres Lexus have used over the years have actually been relatively soft.
  16. No they really don't, which is why dashboards on UK German vehicles are just a compromised left hand drive design, but in this particular instance I don't know why it doesn't drop the volume. Lexus vehicles were doing that as far back as 1997, but this latest system doesn't :(
  17. The vehicle won't deplete the batteries to an unsafe level in EV mode, there will always be enough reserve to start the engine unless you leave it for an extended period of time and the batteries naturally discharge.
  18. Congrats on your new vehicle. Shame you had to go through the pain of the 220d.
  19. as above. Pay for a local mechanic to do the work, there is nothing in the job that needs a Lexus specialist. In the UK the interval was 100k miles but was revised to 60k miles because the belt could be worn down if a pulley/tensioner when out of alignment. You don't have any of that wear so there is no reason to think it would fail before 100k miles (although I would check at least once a year to see if wear starts to occur).
  20. Welcome Ron There aren't many at that mileage so longer term reliability is difficult to predict. Have the underside checked for corrosion, the undersealing isn't great on the Gen II RX. Personally I wouldn't have a hybrid if you are going to leave it for those extended periods of time. The small 12v aux battery will certainly need to go on a float charger but I'd also be concerned about the hybrid traction battery losing too much charge and damaging the cells.
  21. That is fine. This is what they look like when things go wrong:
  22. Mechanical brakes always operate below 5 mph, otherwise this brake noise when creeping wouldn't exist. I only suffer from the issue coming to a complete stop and then slowly releasing the brakes (creeping). Driving slowly around a car park doesn't seem to be an issue. As previously mentioned in this thread, high speed heavy braking will tend to clean up the pad and disc surfaces to stop the noise from occurring, at least for a short time. It seems to be caused by glazing of the pad surface from the mechanical brakes only providing very light assistance during higher speed braking, with the regen braking doing most of the work. The lighter the driver is on the brakes the worse it seems to be. Not sure why the IS seems to suffer more than other hybrids, my old RX400h or my wife's old Prius Gen 2 and current Gen 4 don't suffer from this.
