  1. Luckily you don't drive a Toyota/Lexus hybrid. The manual explicitly states that using Neutral should be avoided. The highway code doesn't state it should be used and if you aren't quick at moving away (i.e. to slow going from neutral to drive (or 1st in a manual)) you will get a minor mark against you on a driving test so some instructors will advise you stay in gear, although the parking brake should be applied when stationary.
  2. It will stay red for quite some time, it isn't like engine oil which turns black because of the combustion process. But darker fluid isn't really a problem unless it is burnt or bordering on black.
  3. No warning light, just the metal tab that will scrap against the pad and give you an audible warning.
  4. Are you sure it is from the brakes and not the engine bay or suspension?
  5. I don't think there is any argument to be had. Clearly under warranty. There is a known problem on US/LHD vehicles with a wiring junction box that causes this issue, most probably applied to UK vehicles too. Or the motor could have failed.
  6. I haven't seen a recent post about the cost Lexus charge for plugs but I believe it to be around £17 - £18 each (possibly + VAT). You can pick up the OEM plugs for around £10 each from most stockists. As with oil, the dealer have high margins on these parts.
  7. but you can get them to do the plugs as part of the service for an extra cost - it will be cheaper than the standard service price.
  8. Maybe a small stone stuck in one of the pads. Any scoring on the discs at all?
  9. Without applying the brakes? That is normally the wear indicator doing their thing to let you know the pads are low. Or a sticking calliper.
  10. I don't believe the UK lights are capable of running in a DRL mode.
  11. Toyota state exactly the same battery spec for the Prius III and CT200h 168 cells, 650V, 6.5 Ah. http://media.toyota.co.uk/wp-content/files_mf/1329489972120216MTOYOTAPRIUSTECHNICALSPECIFICATIONS.pdf http://media.toyota.co.uk/wp-content/files_mf/1367250452121005MCT200hTechSpec.pdf1.pdf
  12. It is fine to 'jump start' a hybrid and is a procedure described in the owners manual. Use the charging points in the engine bay rather than directly to the battery. The reason why it is safe on a hybrid, compared to some conventional vehicles, is that the amount of current needed to get the vehicle into 'Ready' is very small, just a few amps. You can even jump start of a small 12v Lithium Ion battery pack if required, it doesn't have to be a big car battery - the engine is never started using the 12v battery.
  13. No not yet. Rumours are that it will be - Toyota have halted development of the series V. Lexus GB may stop selling the series IV earlier than the global end of production.
  14. I haven't compared to the previous IS but my camera image quality is very good, a huge improvement over my old RX400h. Sounds like yours is possibly faulty?
  15. They are the same as the middle blade in this picture (identical to the standard fit wiper on the series III IS) 69012e09-e54c-47a2-981a-5b8e91c34525-800.jpg
  16. It will depend on what rims you plan to use. You could just purchase ones with a different offset to standard to achieve the look you are after.
  17. The RC-F standard audio is a 10-speaker system, the ML is optional. There isn't a 6-speaker system on the RC-F. The RC is similar to the IS, three systems available - standard, premium, and ML. The standard 6-speaker system is weak.
  18. I can't answer the question but I believe the reason the specs aren't on the ML site is because ML isn't an option on the US CT200h.
  19. Hi Marc Aircon increases the engine load, so to avoid the idle speed dropping too low the ecu increases the throttle opening to compensate, although it overcompensates by design so you have an increased idle with the ac turned on. I'd start by looking at the throttle body, that probably needs a clean, especially the butterfly, and also give the MAF sensor a clean. (not sure what has happened to the photos, I'll see if I can fix that.
  20. Once the brakes are applied the gearbox should disengage the lock-up torque converter (if it is engaged) so it doesn't sound like that is the isuse. Do you experience the same behaviour with AC on or off?
  21. If the brakes are applied, just enough to make the brake lights come on, is that enough to make the revs drop?
  22. Have you spent time with the standard system? That could be almost as good.
