  1. Yes that's correct. If you forget you try grabbing the handle a couple of times and wonder why it doesn't unlock.
  2. Isn't the C300h a diesel engine with a jerky auto transmission? IS300h every time for me. Hideously expensive too, on paper, although you can normally get £1,000s of the list price of a Mercedes - just look at Drive the Deal.
  3. Which is what I said, the SE-L has those but the SE doesn't. The question was what would you miss out on if just going for an SE rather than SE-L on 2004-2005 year models. Before the facelift in 2006, ML audio wasn't an option for the SE. If you have a 400h then specs are different too. AFS was only on the RX 300 SE-L, however on the 400h is was standard on both the SE and SE-L.
  4. Is everything working on the vehicle? It could be a blown fuse but there would normally be other symptoms. Has the battery been checked? Is the 14.19v seen at the battery as well as at the alternative output?
  5. The revised RC F is certified for Euro 6d, the old one along with the GS F is Euro 6 compliant. From the press release: To comply with the new Euro 6d emissions requirements, the RC F’s exhaust system has been fitted with a new Gasoline Particulate Filter. This has brought about a change in the car’s power and torque output figures: maximum power is now 457bhp/341kW at 7,100rpm, with maximum torque of 520Nm delivered at 4,800rpm.The RC F also adopts the new Drive Start Control system featured on the 2018 Lexus RC
  6. An Infiniti that isn't truly ugly - I guess this one has a chance of gaining some sales in the UK. I'm not seeing anything special about the switchgear but the overall interior looks nice.
  7. Welcome Chris. Do you know what voltage the new alternator is giving out? There is a reason why Japanese cars are so reliable, they don't use German electrics
  8. No, 12x 90913-02092, and 12x 90913-02093 for all 24 valves.
  9. Ask your dealer to have a quick look. If it is under warranty then they will be keen to find any fault that they can claim and be paid for.
  10. No it uses the same one used on the LS. The RC F, GS F, and LC 500 use the same pump as the IS300h - just two instead of one. It must be an installation issue rather than a problem with the pump itself as they aren't being recalled, something externally must be damaging the covers.
  11. It would be cheaper to sell your existing vehicle and buy one with Premium Nav!
  12. This isn't the case with the 2012-2015 GS. All grades that have Nav are Premium Nav with remote touch, just some have a smaller screen. If you get the Mark Levinson premium surround system option then you always the 12" screen - the two cannot be separated. For 2016 onwards the smaller Nav screen was dropped and all models get the 12.3" screen. The ML option in this case just upgrades the audio system.
  13. Difficult to see from the pics but you could probably get someone to weld this for a 1/10 of the cost of replacing the exhaust section.
  14. Isn't it under setup > general > software update? Do you have the standard or premium nav?
  15. The engine is a relation to the ones used in the GS and RX 450h cars but there are quite a few differences. Ultimately it is a decision by Lexus GB or Lexus Europe not to bring it to the UK, based on predicted sales vs cost to bringing it to market. Emissions isn't an issue, although the cost of having the emissions certified would be part of the cost to market.
  16. a cheap stethoscope may help - be careful when using that you don't get it near moving parts. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Silverline-154006-Mechanics-Stethoscope-320/dp/B001C0RYPG It could be one or more of the fuel injectors being noise, or valve clearance is too large.
  17. Hi Wayne, if it has the 12" screen then it also has the ML audio system for 2012-13 models - the two where packaged together as an option for the Luxury and F Sport models, and standard on the Premier. From 2014 onwards the two can be separate as the 12" screen comes with navigation and the ML audio system is optional for all grades except the Premier. You can also tell a vehicle has the ML audio system by looking just above the hazard warning switch (directly below the CD/DVD slot). There will be the ML logo if fitted or blank if not. With: without:
  18. Glad it is all sorted out. I'd like to think that if you didn't have a warranty that you could get it fixed for less, or found a vehicle being scrapped with a good amp.
  19. It was always possible to get it working but Toyota won't support it.
  20. It is probably worth trying to save the transmission. You need to get all the coolant out of it. Just draining and filling the pan isn't enough because 50% of the fluid is held within the torque convertor and valve body. You need to drain/refill the pan and then pump out the old fluid by disconnecting the oil cooler and starting the engine. Let 0.5 litre pump out, turn off the engine, add 0.5 litre of new fluid, and repeat until you have replaced all the fluid - and step through the different gears whilst pumping out to make sure all the valves are flushed through.
  21. We obviously won't allow the discussion of using illegal software on LOC. However you can legally use Techstream - download for free and pay for access as and when you need it from the following official website: https://www.lexus-tech.eu/GTS/Wizard/step2-intro.aspx The software itself can be a pain to get working as you need a 32-bit version of Windows which isn't so accessible these days. That is why something like Carista is easier to use - directly from your smartphone.
  22. Yes it does. All vehicles after around the year 2001 have to and it has to be located within 1m of the steering wheel without the need to remove any panels. On the 400h it is below the wheel, above the pedals. You may need to get outside the vehicle and put your head into the footwell to find it. There is probably a black cover over the port. Carista is a good app that allows customisations. Otherwise you should look at Toyota's Techstream however this is expensive if you don't have a pirate copy.
  23. You could convert to standard if you have problems but to avoid the headache get an SE, or a 400h (which doesn't have air suspension even with the SE-L grade). If you can get an SE with Nav option (which also gives you the reversing camera) then the only things you will miss out on are Adaptive front lights and the Mark Levinson stereo (the standard pioneer system is still good).
