  1. There are quite a few people that state this happens. Maybe newer models were revised to do this? Or there is an adjustment to compensate for a spoiler which has been incorrectly set.
  2. I think the 2.4 is more fuel efficient, and possibly available as a FWD only option which will make it more economical than 4WD. The RX300 is smoother, having a V6 engine. If economy is your main concern then the 400h may be a better choice, however they probably command a higher price so depending on your intended mileage the Harrier may still be the better choice for you. Some of the imports have Japanese only Sat Nav and screen controls such as climate control. There isn't an easy way to convert that to English so make sure you look at that.
  3. Yes, it isn't really designed to run on battery only. It will only last around 1 mile but the idea is it will cut in & out together with the petrol engine based on the conditions at the time. You should be getting better than 22mpg. Possibly just the learning curve of driving a hybrid but worth making sure you don't have sticking brake callipers causing a drag (check the temperature of all the wheels after a run).
  4. Toyota ECUs can't be programmed in that way. Depending on how the throttle is controlled on the 2.4 engine it may need additional sensors/different throttle body - I don't have any details as it isn't an engine used in the UK.
  5. Probably a blown fuse - the design of the cigarette lighter socket means it is quite easy to short it out and blow fuses.
  6. I don't believe so. If the wiring is in place behind the steering wheel blanking cover then you may be in luck but Toyota normally only provide wiring if the feature is actually installed - unlike VAG who just use a single common loom for a vehicle.
  7. I find the F Sport suspension harsh, with the 18" wheels combined with stiffer suspension, but not the other models - the 17" wheel grades I find very comfortable.
  8. Looks like an Apple 30-pin connector from older iPods/iPhones. If it is just connected to the Cig lighter then it is just a charge cable.
  9. Unlike most error codes, ones relating to the O2 heater circuits are very reliable. It is easy for the ECU to tell if the circuit is complete or not. Unplug and check the connector for corrosion/water, and check the cable for damage. As stated above you can check the resistance on the sensor side of the connector (pins 1 and 2), and 12v on the engine side of the connector. It is unlikely to be a 12v supply issue though, the fuse and relay that provides this serves both sensors so you would expect to see both P0031 and P0051 if that was the problem.
  10. The first big drop will come when Toyota/Lexus sell their first batch of press cars, typically as they get to be 12 month's old. They will go to the dealers at a good price.
  11. I don't think white does it any favours, looks better in the darker colours.
  12. depends on which size wheels you have but I think they are all around 36 psi. I never really had a problem with traction with my F Sport, no worse than any other RWD vehicle. Obviously it isn't going to be good in mud.
  13. Glad it is fixed The drain/refill capacity is the 3.6l stated in your book. If you need a dry refill, where the torque converter isn't holding any fluid, then you will need around 8.5 to 9 litres.
  14. As speed slows, and the motor/generator turns less, the energy recovered will decrease and so the meter will start to return to 0. At around 5 mph the mechanical brakes do all the work so the power meter should be at 0 at that point.
  15. So it appears with the introduction on the GS300h at the start of 2014, all vehicles with Sat Nav have the 12.3" screen as standard and the ML stereo is an option on its own.
  16. Yes I believe ML will always have the logo. There is one at Lexus Derby which has 12" screen and no ML. The press releases doesn't mention this is an allowed combination but that info is clearly wrong. Even the old price list doesn't show it as an option. Maybe there was a change in 2014 or some demonstrators had non-standard spec.
  17. No, it will stay on maximum regen as both brakes will be operational at the same time. It will only go back to 0 if the batteries are overheating and cannot be charged.
  18. My idea was to take the rear wheel and put it on the front - which will clear the calliper, and then use a skinny spare on the rear which will fit over the smaller brakes. The issue BR mentioned is that the rear wheel/tyres might be too wide for the wheel arch/liner on the front. Something to try when I have some spare time....
  19. Yep, FM isn't CD quality but worth trying for only a few pounds. I'd go with one that uses an Aux cable so you get the best quality from the phone to the transmitter. If you use a bluetooth one, you have the wire-free connivence but you lose quality on the bluetooth connection from phone to transmitter and then from the transmitter to FM. Actually, as you have an LS430, and I assume a tape deck, you could use a tape adapter instead to avoid the FM reception issue and possibly better quality too. http://www.halfords.com/technology/mobile-phone-accessories/audio-accessories/belkin-cassette-adapter
  20. There are loads of different ones on the market. Here is an example: https://www.maplin.co.uk/p/maplin-fm-transmitter-n26en You ideally need to get one that has been CE approved (not just a CE logo printed on it in China) to be legal. Essentially it is an FM transmitter, powered by the cigarette lighter socket, which your car radio picks up. Quality is as good as your FM radio. The issue is if you are in a built up area - when I tried one years ago I struggled to find a frequency that wasn't in use anywhere on my journey between home and work.
  21. I think it is more to do with parents not wanting people to see their young children inside than a VIP thing. The XC60 is nice (when they are working) but it's no RX450h. To me it seems an extreme position to take in compromising a vehicle choice over some darken glass but it's certainly your decision. Good luck on your search.
  22. The UX with use the TNGA platform so will be a sister vehicle to the C-HR rather than based on it. It should handle better than the NX which shares a chassis with the RAV4.
