  1. I've used Bosch superfit recently, seems to work well. Dual purpose, so you can use it on the back of the pads to stop squeal too. Bosch Superfit
  2. I'd say that is unlikely, it will probably be similar to the NX where only the base model gets FWD. It isn't about going off-road, it provides a smoother and more powerful electric drive, will reduce torque steer being felt at the steering wheel, as well as providing an added level of safety in the wet and snow.
  3. The engine revs will be lower if it is getting battery assist. Normally on a flat road at a constant speed it will provide a bit of assistance if the battery level is high - it doesn't make sense for it to do this indefinitely as the battery charge will drop to a point where the engine has to charge it up again which is inefficient because of the energy loss in converting power from the engine to electricity. If your battery charge was low the engine would both power the wheels and drive the generator to provide charge.
  4. So this is a bit difficult to see but I've added the GS F to the picture (in blue). I suspect the original RC torque graph is heavily smoothed.
  5. I've overlaid the two as best I can, there is a slight difference in the two graphs so it gets one or two pixels out in places on the scale. Red is the the 2018 engine with the GPF cats replacing the two pre-cats. Black is the older engine with standard pre-cats.
  6. No they have to be removed. Just look for water inside the lights at the bottom and check inside the boot for wetness.
  7. It's made a real mess of the power delivery. I'll post something up later.
  8. Check the rear light clusters for any water ingress, there is a seal on the back of the unit that can start to come away from the light unit and may need gluing back on - water potentially could get into the boot too because of this. Check the brake callipers - the sliding pins will seize over time. This happens more on the rear and results in the rear disc corroding as brakes aren't applied. This is worse on the hybrid vehicles as the mechanical brakes aren't used as much because of the regenerative braking. Check the underside. The rust proofing doesn't age well and may need to be re-undersealed to stop corrosion.
  9. It is at the bottom of the steering wheel column trim. If you put your head in the footwell by the pedals and look up you can see it.
  10. Lexus has already announced the 250h will be available in AWD.
  11. I think the GS F with a 5 litre V8, is very slightly more refined that my old IS300h F-Sport. There is a small cut out in a road I travel on every day and which caused me to wince every time in the IS front wheels hit in, whereas in the GS it is just a hard jolt. In my wife's Prius you have to make an effort to look out for it otherwise you don't even notice it. But all the non F-Sports loan vehicles I've driven have been fine, including the 18" wheeled Premier. It is just the 18" wheels in combination with the firmer F-Sport suspension that make it too hard.
  12. We don't encourage the distribution of copyrighted material without the owner's (Toyota) permission on these forums.
  13. It is larger than the Camry, in fact almost the same size as the GS. Since 2012 it is somewhat based on the Avalon, not the Camry.
  14. That really is too low to be recommended.
  15. Once you have them in good condition, it is a quick yearly procedure to relube them - you don't need to take a wheel off or even jack up the vehicle if you don't mind lying down on the floor.
  16. Lexus need a FWD drive model for the US market, there are plenty of states that won't buy RWD vehicles due to weather and don't want the expense of AWD.
  17. There are several errors that will light all of those warning lamps - you won't have 4 separate faults. Did these errors appear when starting the vehicle? If so it could just be low charge in the battery.
  18. My nearest dealer is 5 miles away, the next about 30 miles but I am seriously considering making the extra journey.
  19. March 2010 I believe it became orderable, the same time as the LSD, HDD Sat Nav and DAB audio as fitted and the white leather interior and mesh wheel options were added.
  20. I'd be happy just to get the work done. When I emailed my dealer I didn't hear anything for a couple of days, then when I chased it up I was quizzed who had written to me informing me of the recall because they haven't had training and parts aren't available. Heard nothing since.
  21. It needs to start at £30k otherwise it competes with the NX. That will be around £5k more than the base C-HR hybrid in the same way the NX starts around £5k more than the base RAV4 hybrid. The base CT is only £1k more than the Auris so there is no precedent that Lexus will demand a £10k premium for the UX.
