  1. Reasonably accurate. Remember they are in Euros and add VAT.
  2. If you make sure the auto lights and wipers don't come on you could get away with 10A. All the 12v battery is for is to power up the control systems until the hybrid inverter is able to start generating power and the vehicle becomes 'Ready', at which point the inverter takes over providing 12v to the vehicle and starts charing the 12v battery. There is no starter motor, the hybrid motor is used to turn over the engine to start it - which is all powered by the hybrid battery, not the 12v battery.
  3. No! You drain the pan using the drain plug, and put back in the same amount through the dipstick tube. There is no level plug on the side. You need to check the level using the dipstick markers whilst hot and the engine is running, having selected all the gear positions.
  4. 30A would be more that enough for the 400h. Don't use your 400h to jump another vehicle.
  5. Wouldn't be the first salesman to not know what he is talking about. How about a review on Lexus' own website that state air suspension is standard on the Premier: http://blog.lexus.co.uk/lexus-rx-450h-review/ These is a pinned post at the top of the RX forum with the equipment levels on the different grades. 2009-2012 SE-L and SE-L Premier, and 2012+ Premier models all had air suspension as standard. It was the series II 400h that never had air suspension, whereas some of the series II petrol models did. I've not heard of series III air suspension issues, however given there age you wouldn't expect to - only time will tell if they remain reliable.
  6. All CTs have the same performance. The F-Sports have a modified suspension that makes them handle slightly better but that's it.
  7. Here is the press release for the launch of the 2017 Sport (and plus option pack). It represented good value for the additional specification compared to the standard models. new-high-value-sport-model-leads-new-2017-lexus-ct-200h-range.pdf
  8. Hi Mike What model of 450h was it? Most have 19" wheels which doesn't help the ride, and possibly the tyres were over-inflated, but the ride shouldn't have been that bad. Although admittedly it won't be as good as the 400h. The higher grades have air suspension, so it is worth testing models with/without that feature.
  9. The trim panel or the fuse box cover? I think the fuse box cover has a plastic catch which needs to be pressed in and the cover pulled away.
  10. Which they may not do. In the same way they didn't really announce to the press that they stopped sale of the 200t variants of the IS, RC, NX, and RX.
  11. Car looks fine, except a collapsed rear suspension. There is normally gap between the wheel arch and the top of the tyre.
  12. Doesn't look good. The UK cars use exactly the same part so in theory this should be an issue here. Could be another good argument to use high octane fuel, more of it is burnt within the cylinder which can lead to lower exhaust temperatures. The RC F looks to have a similar manifold design, although the exhaust connection is higher bore to be less restrictive - this again could lead to lower temperatures at the manifold to prevent this issue occurring.
  13. Bump stops are compressible blocks (typically rubber) that protect the suspension when they reach full travel.
  14. Maximum volume on the car's audio system, maximum volume on the iPhone, or both? The iPhone has a volume control on its bluetooth connection, which can accidentally get reduced - you should set it to maximum. Make a connection and press the volume up button on the iPhone repeatedly until at max.
  15. What is that labelled as on the underside of the cover? It doesn't look like a fuse, more like a jump connector. Does the alarm still function with this removed? Not sure your insurance company will pay out if you have disabled that and it gets broken into/stolen.
  16. In the case of the IS300h it is mainly air that is pushed back into the inlet manifold and the piston that is on it's intake cycle will draw it in. Most of the fuel is added at the top of the compression cycle through the direct injection system (I say most because the engine also has port injection too). For the NX300h, which isn't direct injection, only port injection, it will be the correct ratio of fuel and air that is pushed back. The injectors will only add only enough additional fuel for the additional fresh air drawn in to get the overall mixture correct. Also remember that these engines have variable valve timing, the effective compression ratio is increased at higher rpm to something much nearer the actual compression ratio when maximum power is required.
  17. Yes, that is the most common cause. The trouble area section of the example I posted lists the possible causes in priority of investigation.
  18. Possibly spot welds that are then covered in a protective foam.
  19. It is safe to assume that all the history would have been removed. You are best to wait and see if the fault re-occurs. Depending on the fault, the warning light can come on at the first instance of an error, second (two trip logic) or on the third strike (three trip logic). Certain error conditions are only tested for periodically, when certain conditions are met. Here is an example of how one type of emissions fault is detected: For this type of issue, when efficiency is just starting to drop, it will only be detected intermittently. After clearing the error you may go two or more weeks before you get a warning light again. Hard faults on the other hand are detected straight away and when cleared will immediately reappear. At this point in time we are just speculating. I'd personally wait until you get another warning - it has been know for a spurious error to occur that never repeats. If there is a problem then you will get another warning at some point. If you take it to a dealer now they will spend time, and your money, trying to recreate an issue that they may not be able to.
