  1. It is the Series II wheel caps wanted, not the series I. They are made by O.Z. but went out of production years ago. Possibly will need to find someone who has a 3D printer.
  2. Have you checked the fluid for condition and at the correct level? If that is ok then the solenoids will need testing/replacing. If that is all the problem is then it is relatively minor and so would be worth repairing.
  3. Vehicle should be in 'Ready' state, transmission in Park, and possibly the parking brake should be on as well.
  4. I believe it only reacts if it senses you are not looking ahead and there is a potential hazard approaching. You need to be braver to test it
  5. Agreed, I'd have it over the 300. Potential owners just need to be aware of the slim chance of hybrid issues and are either capable of getting their hands dirty or happy going to an independent with some £££.
  6. On the GS the equaliser/amp that drives the ASC speakers is fed via shared fuses. I'd strongly suggest the RC F is the same.
  7. I agree, it certainly is only a small minority however people need to be aware of these issues. As I've said there have been substantially fewer reports of issues on the 400h and this is with a much larger population of vehicles. The Toyota hybrid system is very reliable but the 450h has some specific implementation issues (2 speed transmission and battery package) which make it stand out as being less reliable than any other Toyota/Lexus hybrid.
  8. In my IS300h F Sport the ASC was on for all modes but was louder in Sport. At least it has a on/off & volume control.
  9. Unfortunately it is the experience of LOC members. Some examples are below, there is others. This is particularly poor compared to the RX400h where I can only recall one or two issues with the hybrid system and that was available a year before the GS450h (so has had longer for issues to occur) and sold 5 to 10 times as well as the GS450h.
  10. Here is a bit of info about ASC: On the RC F there is a single speaker, behind the instrument cluster, it cannot be turned off and works in all modes, although in normal there is less sound. It will only operate once the engine is above 980 rpm and the vehicle is travelling over 4 mph. It takes into account all sorts of parameters to make the sounds realistic (engine speed, load, vehicle speed, throttle angle, gear etc). For the 2018 model there are a few changes. The ASC sound will only occur in Sport + mode, or custom mode if the Power option is selected. In addition to engine sounds, it will also enhance the intake noise on a sharp throttle opening (the vehicle does not need to be travelling for this sound to occur, unlike the engine noise). On the GS F there are two speakers, one on the rear parcel shelf and the other is the centre dashboard speaker. The system is off in Eco and Normal drive modes. In Sport just the rear speaker is used, and Sport + uses both front and rear. There is a button to disable the system completely in both sport modes. The system generates engine, intake (only in Sport + from the front speaker) and exhaust pulsation sounds (only in Sport + and front the rear speaker).

  13. Sorry to see this, I feel for you. I don't think you have any right to the CCTV footage but it is certainly worth asking. The police would be able to obtain access if they could be bothered to investigate. Also your insurance company may pressure the police into investigating as they would want to recover their costs. Quite a bit of that would probably polish out as the white just looks clear-coat damage, after which the remaining damaged areas might be small enough to be covered under your smart policy.

  16. Best of luck Scott. I'm sure other owners will appreciate any photos you can post up. After normal back flushing, you could try filling with boiling water and let it sit there for a while, possibly even use a descale product, either car or domestic heating system - nothing to lose at that point before wrestling with getting it out. Just make sure it is all flushed out before connecting it back up to the vehicles cooling system.
  17. I would certainly start with doing two or three drain/refills of the pan if it has never been done. I actually installed an external filter on my wife's old RX300 to keep the transmission fluid healthy after a number of reports in the US of problems.
  18. I'm sure it is a cost saving measure spun to make out it was customer demand. If they cared they would include an option to allow the owner to choose.
  19. I believe the Advance has a reversing camera as standard together with the basic Nav system, just not with the moving guidelines that you get with the Premium Nav system. The Advance is the middle grade, above S and SE but below Luxury and Premier (face lift grades).
  20. It is the same on the GS F Not a problem in normal operation because when it opens at medium to high rpm the airflow will be sufficient that air won't be heated by the engine. If you do the mod and have it open all the time then you will get hot air when idling/stuck in traffic. Interestingly it seems Lexus could vent to the wheel arch if they wanted to - there are cutouts on both sides which are just covered by the wheel arch liner. The following pic is on the other side as it is easier to see but it is just below the main air intake pictured above.
  21. It's not great but It protects the connector from the elements - Lexus have used that design for some time on most, if not all, of their vehicles. The rear sensors don't fail at anywhere near the frequency of the main front ones so isn't a problem for the majority of vehicles.
  22. The RX has more sound insulation compared to the NX - it is noticeably quieter.
  23. It sounds like a sensor failure. Try and make sure nothing is in the gap between centre part and outside. Run a piece of paper around the gap or try and clean with a fine bristle toothbrush.
  24. poorly listed I'd say. The GSR19x / UZS19x / GWS19x relate to the GS300&GS350 / GS430&GS460 / GS450h That first line shouldn't include GSW19x because it didn't launch until 2006. I'd say it should look like this: GRS19_, UZS19_, [2005-2011] Saloon GWS19_ [2006-2011] Saloon Either way, it is stating the part is suitable for both lines so is compatible with your vehicle. If you put the part code into Toyodiy.com is shows it is compatible.
  25. Look for any warning lights / non functioning engine warning light. I'm somewhat reluctant to recommend a series III GS450h if you want stress free motoring as they suffer from hybrid transmission and battery issues. Nothing that can't be fixed (relatively cheaply by independents/home mechanics) but doesn't have the usual Lexus reliability IMO given the issues raised on these forums in relation to the very small number of GS vehicles sold. Series IV 450h is awesome, but possible to new for common long term issues to arise and not in the same budget bracket.
