  1. I guess it is how it is implemented/quality of components. Plenty of German brands that have turbo issues but both my Toyota MR2 GT-S Turbo and Supra Twin Turbo were bullet proof.
  2. You have Premium Nav (I think all the current NXs do)? That doesn't support Mirror Link.
  3. Misfire codes across multiple cylinders are often the result of injector issues. Many people have had this issue, even after swapping out all six coil packs/plugs and confirming the ignition system is correctly operating. An oddity of the IS200 engine.
  4. No Haynes manual unfortunately. You can purchase the full manuals (expensive) or subscribe to online viewing at https://www.lexus-tech.eu Alldatadiy.com have an annual subscription to repair manuals however it will be for LHD vehicles only (90% would be correct for both LHD and RHD). Pirate CD copies of the manuals are often found on eBay, possibly along with some viruses/spyware.
  5. It's a Toyota/Aisin A650E transmission - however there are different flavours of the A650E as the one used on the LS/GS/SC 430 has upgraded internals. Use toyodiy.com or 7zap.com to find the correct Toyota part code for your solenoid
  6. Typically you shouldn't pressure wash fresh paint for a couple of months. Have you applied a filler/polish (e.g. AutoGlym SRP), it could just be it that has been removed making the stone chips more obvious?
  7. The volume rotary knob is also a push button for on/off control.
  8. Not that you should have to do this but, if you have a freeze then hold the audio power button down for around 5 seconds until the system reboots without having to power off/on the vehicle.
  9. Yokos are typically soft so it will be interesting to see how well they wear.
  10. One plus for the 2018 models, the custom mode should allow Sport+ engine/transmission mode with a softer AVS setting if you so desire.
  11. I like Rockauto. If you select a courier rather than the postal service you can pay all the duties up front so you know exactly the price you will pay.
  12. I've just posted an RC F equipment document - a bit work in progress at the moment due to some unconfirmed information. https://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/115338-rc-f-equipment-specifications/
  13. If you can find a road that will induce the sound, try driving over the uneven area with your brakes lightly applied - if it still does it then that rules out play in the calliper / brake pads.
  14. Rumours are a 4l V8 twin turbo for the LC F (600 bhp). There is also the 3.5 V6 twin turbo being used in the new LS500 (415 bhp) which could receive some tuning to make it suitable for an F.
  15. Sadly it probably will be withdrawn but they could keep it around until worldwide production ceases. If you get a chance to visit the Toyota factory in Derby it is well worth the trip. The vehicles aren't made in batches, on a single production line you could have one vehicle as a RHD hatchback for the UK, then very next vehicle following a LHD estate for Germany etc. Each vehicle is a different external colour and internal trim specification. There won't be a dedicated line for UK RHD vehicles, even if there was something set up for RHD the Japanese and Australian market vehicles are still being made.
  16. Red rubber grease is used for assembly - typically on the brake master cylinder and calliper piston seals to protect them. It isn't recommend for slide pin lubrication. Toyota/Lexus state that lithium soap base glycol grease should be used (e.g. Molykote G3407).
  17. That's the rumour, Lexus is unlikely to officially state this until the UX is orderable otherwise sales may be affected.
  18. Did they explicitly state the GS F is also affected? Potentially they could keep that alive, only as a build to order model.
  19. In addition to checking the battery and earths, the series I IS can suffer from water ingress which gets into an electrical junction box. Here is one example, use the search to find others. You may be able to dry out the junction box, others have had to replace it due to corrosion. https://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/28384-headlights-staying-on/
  20. Yes, my understanding is a GS front end, IS C middle, and current IS back. I don't think the IS C middle was a derivative of the SC430, they modified the standard series II IS chassis.
  21. Here is the record of my old 400h. Make sure you select UK for fuel units. I'd get around 33 mpg around town and 29 mpg on higher speed runs. These were actual figures, the fuel computer would typically always be 2 mpg over the actual. Whenever I had a series III 450h as a loan, it would be 10% better on fuel than the 400h. http://www.fuelly.com/car/lexus/rx400h/2005/colin10086/144848
