  1. Check the cooling fans are working correctly. m_co_0022.pdf
  2. The part code is for a LS400 series I facelift ECU. It was only used for 1992-1994 vehicles and therefore quite rare. I wouldn't like to say if an ECU from the pre-facelift or series II would work but the part codes are: 89661-50060 (with traction control), 89661-50050 (without TC) 89661-50250 (10/1994 - 12/1994) 89661-50251 (01/1995 - 07/1995)
  3. Does your transmission take WS, if it is a 5-speed then shouldn't it use T-IV? People have used WS as a replacement but it is thinner and Toyota do not recommend it.
  4. Originally the CT200h launched with grades SE-I, SE-L and SE-L Premier. The F-Sport came along a year later. At the end of 2012 the grades were revised to S, SE, Luxury, F-Sport and Premier. The old SE-I matches the SE, with the S being base grade below the previous SE-I Shortly afterwards the Advance grade was added, in-between the SE and Luxury. The facelift happened a year after the grade restructure above and was retained. Improvements across the board, plus reduction in prices.
  5. Normally If the ECU just needs to learn the new idle point then I recommend getting it up to temperature and then whilst driving come to a complete stop and let it idle in neutral for 10 seconds then drive away and repeat. The ECU will lower the idle each time by a small amount unless it settles at the correct speed. Letting it idle for a prolonged period should also correct - which seems to have happened in your case
  6. No, they use a two box system. One near your key, the other by your car. They use a different technology to transmit between the two devices, the distance can be 100s of metres. The device nearest your key can also use a more sensitive receiver/stronger transmitter so it can be further away from the key than 12 feet.
  7. I think it would actually be quite cheap to implement the timing element to the system, but I'm not sure Toyota or anybody else is doing it yet which is a shame.
  8. Yes, deadlocks are only there to stop the door being opened from the inside (smash window and reach in).
  9. Dirty throttle body would be the first thing to check.
  10. The DAB tuner was an option on most grades - I assume your one doesn't have it fitted.
  11. You should clean the butterfly by spraying carb cleaner on a rag and wiping it. You should remove the throttle position sensor or throttle motor. Have this just happened? It could be something like a faulty temp sensor or some other issue causing the high idle. The following is a diagram of the throttle body
  12. They shouldn't be removing the cap though, that exposes the fluid to air/moisture which compromises it. Checking the level, making sure it isn't black or rusty plus the standard brake system checks is enough. There has to be a compromise between checks, time and cost.
  13. I'd make sure your battery is okay and clean the throttle body if dirty.
  14. I've never seen one that you operate as both corded and cordless, seems to be an either / or. The mains ones are more powerful but most people probably don't use the full power and so a battery one would be fine - just get the more powerful ones with 2 batteries and faster charging so you can recharge one battery whilst using the other.
  15. Which vehicle is this for? You have posted in the IS200/IS300 forum but you profile suggests you have a GS300?
  16. I think the clue is in the title of the thread
  17. Car and Driver have stats. The RC F beats a LC 500h 5 to 60 mph however the LC 500h beats the RC F 30 to 50 mph mainly because of the slow kick down on the transmission (the LC 500 beats the 500h). In gear the RC F would win.
  18. But the original statement was about A+ "My problem is that in order to get the Lexus safety system A+, you have to go and buy the top of the range model"
  19. It is possibly 58399-53010 https://lexus.7zap.com/en/eu/lexus+is/242520/gse20r-aetlhw/3/5801/582391g/#58399B
  20. Excellent news. Sounds like you have found a good car from a genuine seller.
  21. Have you tried following the instructions on the Lexus website? How far do you get? https://www.lexus.co.uk/multimedia/onboarding/cy17/set-up-miracast-screen-mirroring
  22. It isn't the sort I fault I'd associate with a faulty ECU, more likely a fault sensor fooling the ECU into opening up the injectors too much. I'd measure the fuel pressure to make sure it is within spec. Scope a fuel injector to see the duty cycle. Test the injectors aren't leaking. Check all other sensors are within normal ranges (e.g. MAP, Temp, TPS etc.).
  23. For piece of mind try and get the youngest possible and either via a Lexus dealer or purchase a Lexus 2 year warranty afterwards (which may be subject to inspection). Ones that are very cheap tend to have hidden issues.
