My fuelly figures are below in my signature, the IS300h was an F Sport which has measurably worse mpg compared to the other models due to the larger wheels and greater aero drag.

The 400h issues are basically age related, they don't have issues until around 10 years old. The 450h could suffer similar problems but we are only getting to the stage where age could become an issue. Make sure you don't have something as simple as a damaged seal around the boot hatch.

I'm not convinced it is a sensor issue. I don't believe the timing is out so it would point towards VVTi issues. Most reports of this error have been for the 3.5 V6 engine and is either because the timing chain hasn't been re-installed correctly after engine work or VVTi/oil control valves. I assume your oil level isn't low, and your battery is good (as all sorts of error codes can occur if you aren't providing the vehicle electrics with a good 12v)?

The correct tyre size is 205/55R16. These were fitted to the IS SE grade in 2013 when the series IV launched. Possibly try and drive one of those to see how it feels (although the suspension was changed in 2016 so may not feel exactly the same as your one would with 16" wheels).

It is 2 years away so will be some time before those deals are available.

When I had the timing belt changed on my wife's old RX300 (series I) it looked like new. They are unlikely to fail until 130k to 150k miles. Not sure if it is possible to remove a cover to inspect the belt, but I'd do that every 6 months to see if there is any wear. In theory the 400h engine does a lot less revolutions in 100k miles compared to a petrol model so should last even longer. But you are taking a risk though, the engine is an interference design which means if the timing belt fails you will suffer expensive engine damage. The Water pump doesn't need changing at 100k miles. Keep an eye on coolant level / leaks as they typically fail in this way first rather than a catastrophic failure.

Looks like a pre-facelift model so 1998 to 2000. Certainly isn't a 2006 model as the series I production ended in 2003.

It is crankshaft to camshaft correlation, often a timing issue but could be one of the sensors.

I'd certainly expect the whole wheel to be sprayed, including the centre, so that everything matches correctly.

Apologies, you are correct. I was thinking of the current grade range where the SE is the base model with only FWD. The 2014-2017 range had the S as the base FWD model, SE upwards were 4WD.

It doesn't even need Lexus service history. Although a requirement of the warranty is that it is services at a Lexus dealer during the warranty period.

Welcome All the NXs will hold their quite value well over the next few years in percentage terms, but with an expensive car that percentage translated into thousands of pounds. I think the 4WD models will be more desirable however the lowest priced model will always have an appeal to people who want an NX but can only just afford one. I'd try and get £1k off the price, you would do well to get it though as the NX sell quite well. Try and negotiate at the end of the month, or end of the dealer's financial quarter, to get a bigger discount and push for free services or warranty extensions if they are not willing to lower the price too much.

I believe the SR only launched in May 2008. The 2007 vehicle was possibly a sport? Parking sensors and rear camera are independent of each other. It will only have a reversing camera if it has the multimedia sat nav option.

Fog lights are a legal requirement in the UK. Japan and US often have dual brake lights, you would need to purchase new light clusters from the US, but you would need some way of changing the operation so you can pass an MOT.

You certainly shouldn't use cooper grease on the sliding pins, only on the back of the pads to stop squeal and even that isn't the best choice. It depends if it is an official Lexus approved pre-owned vehicle or not. All Approved Pre-Owned Lexus Car Warranties have the same level of cover as the Lexus new vehicle warranty, with the exception of batteries, interior trim and corroded exhausts. The exact level of cover is detailed on the reverse of the warranty application form and also within your handover pack you receive when purchasing your vehicle.

The rear discs are more likely to corrode and need replacing than because of actual wear. If you manage your braking to occur mainly via the hybrid system then they will last a very long time. It is actually recommended that you perform some hard stops every month or so to make sure the mechanical brakes get some use and don't seize up. Also check and relube the slider pins every year.

I don't believe the black wire is CAN connected. It is directly into the body ECU. Not sure what it is for, will need to do some research. It is the self levelling that often triggers a check headlight system warning.

There was an inverter recall which you should check has been done (I'm sure it has). I've heard of one or two inverter issues and one or two rear motor issues. No other issues directly related to the hybrid system, but battery issues caused by water damage have also been reported. Nothing that you can really do about this, other than possibly consider a used Lexus warranty.
