  1. 2 - should be possible. Road sign assist and the Nav are two independent systems. 3 - some settings will be greyed out unless the vehicle is in it's 'Ready' state with the transmission in park.
  2. If the headlights have been stripped of their protective coating then you either need to keep polishing them every couple of years or apply a clear coat - take a look at this video:
  3. If it is the same heater fault as in the link above from Mark then that is always a sensor failure. Easy for any garage to change, just make sure they use a Denso sensor of the correct type and not a 'compatible' one.
  4. I'm not sure where the belief that the 200t was positioned as a high performance car comes from? It was positioned as having better performance than the 300h and was a replacement for the IS250. The turbo is really there for emissions and low end torque. If they wanted performance that would have given it more boost and 280 bhp. The 200t is substantially quicker than the series II IS250. Maybe it doesn't feel like it because it doesn't have the dreadful road noise the series II produces because it is better insulated.
  5. Are people actually debating this? A series III 200t vs series II 250, there is no comparison. The 200t has quite a bit more power, a lot more torque which is available from much lower revs, has a much faster gear changing transmission and has more ratios too which keep the engine within maximum power for longer and with lower first gear for better initial acceleration. The vehicles weight about the same, the 200t very slightly heavier. Once you get to bends then it gets even worse for the 250. The series III chassis and suspension set up massively out-handles the series II.
  6. I believe there two dedicated circuits for the two, labelled CIG and Power outlet See here for location:
  7. Their used prices are always the highest in the country and trade ins never that great either. However in this case you could do well, that GS F hasn't been with them for long so there is probably quite a lot margin they can negotiate with as they haven't had to reduce the asking price month on month.
  8. You will do well to get a good deal, the Surrey tax will be in full force.
  9. Rare for any Toyota engine to use oil, unless there is a specific fault.
  10. If you have reliability issues then get the dealer to upgrade the firmware, you don't have to purchase maps for that. If you are in warranty then it will be free, they will probably charge if out of warranty.
  11. I don't remember on those nav drive units, is there a manual eject - a hole for a paper clip? You need to get the disc ejected somehow.
  12. Eject the disc and make sure it is clean. A layer of dust/dirt can form over time.
  13. There is no meaningful market and it would be too expensive. Until the Japanese import tariffs into Europe are lowered/removed it wouldn't make sense. It isn't cost effective to develop the IS450h, it wouldn't really sell in the US and European sales don't provide a return on investment on their own. The newer vehicle platforms make things easier to offer more choice - we will see with the UX and ES if their thinking as been altered.
  14. It is a very smooth, fine grain surface. A grain size not really found in the UK. The sound measurement is also at the kerb rather than inside the vehicle and tyre manufacturers can design a tyre to throw more sound into the vehicle and away from the kerb to get a better rating. Essentially the tyre noise rating is completely useless to understand how much road noise will be inside your vehicle.
  15. Press and hold while the ignition is on / engine running for the LC500 (non h)
  16. Power off/on will reboot it, you don't need to do anything more than that - no point clearing the data, it won't help. Ask you dealer if any firmware updates exist - there is a update for the MM17 nav system but your vehicle probably already has it installed. As it is a new system there are likely to be bugs unlike the MM13 and MM15 systems which are now stable.
  17. Don't wish you car is unreliable just so you can make a warranty claim! The series IV GS is very reliable, but as they get older then maybe suspension components etc could start to fail. I didn't bother with an extended warranty on my IS300h once the original warranty passed - I did have several claims within the three years but nothing since. I'll possibly get a two year extension on the GS F as it seems a reasonable deal for such an expensive car - if I have engine/transmission problems with will pay for itself many times over.
  18. It wouldn't sell. Lexus are really only interested in business owners who want low BIK. Anybody looking for a performance IS wouldn't want a hybrid, that is why the IS350 is sold in the US and not an IS450h. The UK will never offer more than two engine options, they don't have enough volume to warrant all of the costs certifying vehicles for Europe, sparing etc. The current hybrid only options is down to the fact that they outsold petrol versions 10:1 and so things like the IS250 and IS200t were dropped.
  19. Maybe some were replaced under warranty due to corrosion and the old ones have been refurbed?
  20. Really it is just a gimmick on the hybrid transmission, but if you put it in manual you can pretend to change gears using the paddles. The main use is if you know you want to overtake you can 'drop down a gear' to bring up the engine revs beforehand so you don't have an acceleration delay when press down the throttle - you can do this in Drive, you don't need to be in manual mode.
  21. take a look at this thread. The procedure is different depending if you have the premium nav with remote touch or standard with the rotary controller
