  1. I believe there is a setting to disable it via the instrument cluster settings options.
  2. It is very difficult to tell if there is an issue, other than a warning light. You could ask the seller to have a hybrid health check done which costs £59 and, depending on age, will give you a 1 year warranty on the hybrid battery. This really only checks the battery so issues with the inverter or transmission could occur and won't be covered.
  3. Nice that it works well. On the GS I find it keeps the heater on just a little too long for my liking, even on the lowest number 1 setting. I have to lower the cabin temp setting a degree or two to make it switch off earlier. Setting 4 or 5 must get unbearable.
  4. It isn't a coupe. Your argument is valid for yourself but others want more space and refinement over the IS. To say there is no point in the ES because the IS exists is the same as saying the 5 series shouldn't exist because there is the 3 series, or the A6 shouldn't exist because the A4 is all you need.
  5. Do you have auto locking enabled so the doors lock automatically when you move out of Park? You would therefore need to be back in Park for the hatch to open.
  6. I'd suspect it is the camera rather than the navigation unit or screen. I doubt there is much that can be done other than replacing it, although might be worth checking its connection. There are two camera models used on the RX series II. 86790-48020 until 08/2006 and then 86790-48060 afterwards. An early 07 plate vehicle could be either so you need to check the chassis number to known which one is the correct one - the newer one has lower light performance so is the best one to have but I don't know if it is directly compatible with an older vehicle. I'm sure Lexus will charge a serious amount of money, best to try and find one from a breakers.
  7. Is the immobiliser/alarm light going out?
  8. That is the old ES though, and it has less equipment as standard compared to the GS. I wouldn't expect the UK ES to be priced much cheaper than the current GS 300h.
  9. Getting series I sport parts is very difficult these days. Only standard vehicles were produced at the factory and Lexus GB were modifying them on import using locally sourced components, hence you cannot get springs and wheels etc. from Japan and aren't listed on many parts databases. For the series II sport, Lexus used Eibach springs, not sure who supplied the series I.
  10. You need to allow the phone to send the messages. Within your phone go to settings > bluetooth > tap i against the Lexus device > turn on 'Show Notifications' Even when set up it seems to be very hit and miss. It can be working fine and then stop working for months before starting to work again. I've had this issue with different iPhone models, on my IS300h (on 3 different Nav firmware versions, GS F, and my wife's Prius.
  11. If you have a valid license for TS and use the rather expensive official cable then Toyota will provide you with support. Discussing how to get a pirated copy of the software working is not permitted on these forums.
  12. Water pump shouldn't cost more than £395 from a Lexus dealer under their Essential Care programme available to vehicles over 5 years old. The water pump is quite a common failure on the series II IS250. It will probably get worse and noisy, but how quickly that will occur is difficult to say.
  13. The problem was he wasn't driving, not that he was. Surely banning is just encouraging him to move across to the passenger seat and let the vehicle do the driving
  14. No that isn't normal. I assume you have it in D and not B?
  15. They had a green one at MB World when I was there last weekend - looked good. I might go back with some pink stickers to try our your theory
  16. There are a couple of carbons in silver about, or maybe just go and look at a standard RC in silver to get an idea.
  17. Spares bulbs are not compulsory but are recommended. Obviously completely pointless for LED equipped vehicles, but if you have a standard bulb kit take that along - it could avoid an unnecessary conversation and they are unlikely to know if the bulbs will fit in the vehicle or not.
  18. My understanding is the lights have a flat beam that don't need adjusting. I believe this is correct for all current Lexus vehicles with HID and LED (RC F) lights.
  19. I can't find any pictures of it, so probably wasn't a press car. It is an Edinburgh license plate Silver Sonic 1J2 colour code. It does have the ML stereo - the ad suggests it doesn't but you can see the logo on the interior picture and the build spec confirms it, but none of the other options (sunroof, TVD, PCS/ACC).
