  1. Your Hybrid battery screen will very rarely show the battery as fully charged or completely empty. Depending on how you use the vehicle can show full charge, especially if you are on a very long downhill run, you are less likely to see just one bar unless there is a fault that is preventing the engine from starting. There is plenty of headroom either side of that battery display which is the protection and overcapacity - think of two extra bars above and three below.
  2. Do you still have the old rims to put back on to test? As you say the difference in size shouldn't make that much of a difference and could just be coincidence and the speedo is starting to play up.
  3. The SE has puddle lights. I never found them that useful because you seem to have to stand next to the vehicle for a second or two before they come on - by which point you have opened the door. They can be disabled/enabled but that is a dealer only option, not via the instrument cluster settings. With the vehicle locked, try standing next to the mirror for a few seconds when dark. I think you would have footwell lights, again that could be a dealer customisation to turn them off. I don't believe the over head panel has small LEDs - I certainly don't remember them, unlike my wife's Prius which has one that lights up the drinks holder areas. They are possibly holes for the hands-free microphone or alarm interior sensor or something like that.
  4. Every bit as quite as the stock system when the car switches to EV mode
  5. You should be able to get firmware updates from the dealer for the cost of the labour to install them, you shouldn't have to purchase the maps. Do you suffer from issues? Don't expect a big update. In theory a Toyota dealer shouldn't be able to do this but some are able to. Give them a ring.
  6. It potentially could be a head gasket issue. Check the oil filter cap to see if there is any white mayonnaise type substance on the underside and check the coolant level and any signs of contamination. Another possibility could be a faulty air/fuel ratio sensor which will over fuel the engine or dirty MAF sensor.
  7. Not sure I'm a fan of the horns on the top of the instrument cluster - sadly it appears to be something Lexus are keen on as the UX has them too.
  8. Looks like it should be bolted and stuck down. IS2013_Rear_Spoiler_08150_53870_AIM_002_870_1.pdf
  9. It is normal. Sometimes it goes through a calibration cycle which keeps the engine running. All the hybrids do it and if I try and force EV mode on my old IS300h or wife's Prius it will just state EV mode not available at this time. Also if you are asking for heat and the engine coolant isn't up to temperature then the engine will run more often.
  10. Historically different hardware because the US has Satellite Radio, Lexus Enform, Remote app, HomeLink plus other differences. They could start to use a common hardware platform and use software for regional differences. Even then, Lexus is niche so there won't be a large hacking community in Europe to try and get it to work.
  11. I do hope so but so far I've only seen announcements from Toyota and Lexus in the US, and they have different infotainment systems compared to Europe.
  12. It you are wanting go past 250 bhp on the 1G-FE then you need to be prepared to upgrade the internals. You would be better off with a 1JZ/2JZ, or even a 3G-GE from an Altezza/3G-GTE from a Celica GT-Four or MR2 GT-S. I don't believe the J160 will fit with a 1JZ. It certainly doesn't against a 2JZ.
  13. If it isn't a fuse then it would be worth checking the connection on the drivers door switch panel hasn't come loose.
  14. After a bit of digging it appears the US wheels are forged, not cast, and the new UK standard wheels are probably forged too.
  15. The central locking is controlled by the drivers door ECU, along with memory position for steering wheel parking etc.
  16. Definitely didn't come out of the factory with the carbon wheels. The build spec for that vehicle states the wheels as 255+275/35r19 forged high. Carbon wheels list as 255+275/35r19 forged high+
  17. Unlikely to be a fuse in the engine bay. D FR Door is the drivers front door which is a possibility.
  18. It isn't a new feature, available on all vehicles with keyless operation using the same key fob design. Certainly worth doing on your spare key to stop the battery running down, and unless you have the spare in a blocker then you are still vulnerable to an attack. Doesn't seem like a good solution for daily use, if you are pressing the key fob to disable and then again to unlock the car you might as well disable keyless operation completely and just use the fob's lock/unlock buttons. I believe some vehicles have the ability to disable keyless locking/unlocking as a driver option on the dashboard, others it is a dealer customisation only (or an OBDII device and software).
  19. I'm guessing these are cast alloy too - basically the 'cheap' wheel option which was never offered in the UK. They have been replaced globally with the ones being discussed on this thread. Personally I prefer the older design to the current but would prefer them in a lighter finish.
  20. Go to Wheels in Motion if you want the best. http://www.wheels-inmotion.co.uk/wheels-alignment.php
  21. It depends on the company. Don't assume that because one company didn't mind that another one won't. Some will cover any factory fitted option, some want to know about all of them (and potentially charge you for them).
