  1. Is this a new issue? Have you disconnected the battery, the sunroof may need to be re-initialised?
  2. I've always quite liked the look of the XC60, old and new, but the engines have always been a big disappointment and reliability is questionable. I do fail to see how Volvo can justify the price increases on their latest generation of vehicles.
  3. I don't really have experience to make an informed decision on those choices. Dodo is well regarded so that would probably where I would start.
  4. Law is for a new vehicle because you don't have a choice who provides the warranty. For a used warranty there are hundreds of different policies you can choose from, if you don't like the Lexus T&Cs you can purchase from someone else instead.
  5. If you have an SE-L / SE-L Premier with semi-aniline leather then there is only a fine coating which contains some colour, most of the colour is dye within the leather, and can be damaged if you use aggressive products - I'd only recommend water based cleaners. If it is standard leather the original pigment coating could have been damaged/removed, either previously or the Dodo Juice, in which case it would be worth resealing it to avoid further dye removal. For either type you may just have removed some incorrectly applied cream/colour restorer that was just filling all the grain effect. By removing it you have a rougher, original, texture.
  6. The wiper switch assembly gets power through MPX-B and ECU-IG fuses. The first is a permanent feed and the other on ignition. You are correct, the horn and headlight controls etc all connect into the wiper switch assembly which then has bus connections to the body ECU / power control ECU / Gateway ECU etc. You can get the official wiring diagrams and repair manual on a subscription basis from Lexus: https://www.lexus-tech.eu You may only need an hour.
  7. For the used warranty that is incorrect. ensure that the Protected Vehicle is serviced by a Service Centre within 30 days or 2000 miles (whichever occurs first) of each service interval specified by the manufacturer (please refer to the vehicle handbook); Service Centre An official Lexus retail centre or service outlet appointed by the Warranty Provider or, in the case of any Specified Territory outside the United Kingdom, by the Lexus national sales and marketing company for that territory.
  8. Speed is deceptive in the RX as you are well insulated, and a bit detached from the driving experience.
  9. You need to look out for the height control switch above the gear selector (also on that vehicle it has the wood pack (wooden steering wheel) which was only an option on the SE-L models).
  10. Try looking on 7zap.com, that will give you diagrams and part codes: https://lexus.7zap.com/en/eu/lexus+is/242530/ase30r-aezlzw/2/
  11. I think it is a standard Lexus document, and not vehicle specific. If you are light on your brakes then the pads/discs will last ages - most of the light braking is done by the hybrid motors, not the mechanical brakes.
  12. Thanks. Maybe they added it once the Advance came out at the end of 2012, because the Advance was fitted with it and so a higher spec vehicle without it doesn't make sense.
  13. It is a brief rattling noise when starting the engine, lasts for a few seconds. There are multiple causes, and on the 3.5l engines it can lead to engine damage if not correctly, however for the IS250 engine it is mainly just an annoyance. Using quality synthetic oil and an engine flush before changing the oil can help minimise the problem.
  14. If your plugs became seized which resulted in additional labour required to remove them / damage to engine and they hadn't been replaced at the 6 year interval then yes I'd suspect the warranty wouldn't cover that work.
  15. Remaps that are properly setup on a rolling road to account for individual engine manufacturing tolerances do improve economy, performance, and responsiveness however the gains aren't that great and quite difficult on perform on Toyota ECUs because you cannot reprogrammed the map directly - you have to use a piggyback system to fool the ECU or modify its outputs. Trying to gain additional economy is difficult if you want to retain catalytic convertors - they need the air/fuel ratio to be very specific, if you deviate from that they don't work. Much better economy could be achieved without them, however the health benefits mean they will remain in all new combustion engined vehicles.
  16. The purpose of the shims is to stop squeal so yes I'd recommend you get them if you are suffering from that.
  17. Yes Not sure if some of the issues are 400h related to the extra weight causing stress on seams but I've seen reports of two or three different sources of water ingress on the petrol models. There just weren't may RX300/RX350s sold in the UK compared to the 400h so the majority of reports are for the hybrid model.
  18. Unfortunately all the new RXs are on trendy 20" wheels which give poor ride and high noise, unless you go with the base model.
  19. Incorrect and against what the user manual advises! If you are stationary and your foot is on the brake, all power is removed from the motor - it is not stalled.
  20. Weird indeed. I cannot really see how this occurs if the spade connector is tight against the metal tab, unless some sort of corrosion occurs on that mating surface. I'd suggest the issue is possibly: the wire at the spade connector, either the crimp/solder or a wire break just before the connector faulty connection of the solenoid tab on the inside poor earth return or loom damage, especially as you had multiple solenoid/sensor issues.
  21. The CT nav at that age doesn't have any connected services and therefore isn't a 'Premium' Nav system. This means it isn't supported on the Lexus portal. The system is hard disk based, rather than DVD or SD Card, and so a dealer must install new maps.
