  1. Don't use manual EV mode, it is really just for moving your vehicle on/off your driveway etc. The ICE will always fire up quickly, especially when cold. The trick is getting better economy is to get up to speed, say 40 mph, lift off the throttle so the car switches to EV mode and then lightly press the throttle to maintain speed without needing the ICE to restart.
  2. Tom, are you referring to the Remote Touch Pad interface that is fitted to the RC, or the Remote Touch Interface with is on the GS? The two are different.
  3. If you have the car set up to connect to the Internet then it will just download the destinations and store in the sat nav memory location(s). The trick with the mouse things is to set the sensitivity to your liking so you can use the correct amount of force to move from one point to another. You may want to start with the highest force setting initially and reduce as you get use to it.
  4. I find it easier to search and find things using the electronic guide.
  5. No, it looks like a proper one without a hole in the roof. 😉
  6. what happens if you swap the pipes over? I believe that normally the straight through connection goes to the longer pipe, the dog leg to the shorter one. One my wife's old RX300 the pipe going to the passenger jet managed to bend itself which almost closed the opening. I had to remove the bonnet lining and straighten it out which resolved the issue.
  7. Use Lexus, even if they sub it out you should get a genuine OEM screen.
  8. Are you purchasing one from the US? MY18 isn't a term to be used in the UK Yes the Premier does have adaptive high-beam headlights. No handsfree boot opener, although it is powered. Handsfree is only on the RX.
  9. Welcome Aamir. Series I GS300 Sport, great looking car.
  10. All new, well for Lexus anyway as it is already being used in the Toyota Camry but it isn't the 2AR-FSE, it is the A25A-FXS engine. http://www.wardsauto.com/2018-10-best-engines/2018-winner-toyota-camry-25l-4-cylsingle-motor-hybrid https://newsroom.toyota.co.jp/en/powertrain/engine
  11. The tape stops any rattle, if you get any noise from it in the future then use the tape. For some reason my holder for the GS didn't come with any, but the previous Brodit holders I've used for my RX and IS did. My IS one started to rattle on harsh roads only after a couple of years.
  12. Not a recall, a TSB which will be fixed within warranty if the owner suffers from the issue. This is quite a specific problem where the steering wheel will almost seem to stick in the straight ahead position after a period of no movement and you need additional force to overcome it - only does it at higher speed.
  13. Yes, I think the main issue is the cheap adapters they use don't support the propriety communications protocols used by Toyota for the body ECU so Carista haven't developed support within the app. Techstream with a supported adapter would work - although the amount of customisation would still be less than some of the newer vehicles.
  14. On the facelift models (late 2006) you get an audio button in place of the Clock button below the screen which gives you control of the disc auto changer, radio presets etc.
  15. Enabled by default on the series II RX if you have the feature.
  16. If it is the thud noise as you brake then no that isn't normal, and possibly is pad movement, or the calliper itself. I don't think it is a big issue but worth getting the dealer to check it out.
  17. You need the dongle, several work but if you purchase the Carista one (around £15) you get a 1 month trial of the software - make the change and cancel the subscription. Making those changes would not affect you warranty.
  18. There is no encryption. The keys have a rolling code so you cannot 'grab' a code and replay it. The keyless method of stealing vehicles works by extending the distance between the vehicle and the owners key. Encryption wouldn't make any difference, as the signal isn't inspected or altered, just relayed. The only real workaround would be to incorporate precision timing in the the system so you can detect if the signal has been extended - I'm not aware of any manufacturer doing that yet.
  19. Factory built vehicles from September 2016 onwards. Built to order in the UK from end November 2016, and realistically in the country only from Feb 2017 onwards. However Lexus probably had some press vehicles and dealer showroom vehicles already on order which arrived and were registered in Dec 2016. Equally there were possibly some pre-September 2016 built unregistered vehicles in the country that didn't get registered/sold until 2017 so you need to check carefully if it's an option you want.
  20. The feature works as your Merc, you have to hold down the lock button for the windows/roof to close. The opposite can be achieved with unlock. Seems Lexus had too many complains from people coming back to their vehicles and finding all the windows open because they had sat on their keys, so these features are disabled by default on the 300h. As Carl has stated, something like Carista will allow you to enable these features, otherwise you will need your dealer to do it as these settings cannot be changed via the on-board menu system.
  21. If you go through the settings there is one for auto screen change which need to be disabled.
  22. I guess the suspension was softened to compensate for the stiff tyres, so overall the ride is good. But what would your RC F have been like if you had put run flats on it.
  23. Does it match well? I've a kit in Azure blue but not used it yet. Not convinced a 2 coat paint will match that well against a 5 coat OEM paint at all angles and light conditions.
