  1. I think it is still stainless but there are different grades, some of which will corrode well before 20 years.
  2. If it is 10% cheaper than the GS in the UK then it will be under the IS pricing, starting around £32.5k.
  3. It is as it came out of the factory - nothing to worry about.
  4. This isn't unique to the CT, all the current Lexus vehicles have the same system, and the same shortcomings. 😞 The 120 was probably due to a 120 km/h sign on the back of a lorry.
  5. Probably a lot more than that, I'd imagine if you traded-in a £72k LC the dealer would only offer £65k at most, probably only £62k.
  6. Check with your Toyota dealer. Some will and some won't, the ones that have a Lexus franchise within the group normally won't.
  7. I little better maybe but most shock manufacturers state 100k miles is the maximum life for their products, at which point performance definitely suffers.
  8. Some people used to complaint about blue dashboards
  9. There are quite a few red LCs as that was the colour all of the press material was created in and most of the demonstrators/press vehicles came in. I imagine Lexus dealers will try and keep prices high but expect a lot of depreciation. Sport and Sport+ packs all have 21" wheels, but even the standard 20" models all have runflat tyres - however owners here have mentioned the ride isn't too bad. The GT S is nice but does have a reputation for poor reliability.
  10. Once you get over 50 mpg, it takes a lot of engineering to make a significant difference. The biggest issue with the CT is that it is using a 2009 power plant and drivetrain which should have been retired two years ago when a much better alternative became available. Unfortunately the Auris, which is the development platform for the CT, hasn't been update either until this year.
  11. It is a bit odd given the GS is an understated saloon and RC has much more in your face styling where orange callipers would be more expected. I can only assume it is to do with cost and that the GS has a higher spec throughout. In the US both the GS and RC have black as standard, both having orange as a $300 option.
  12. Things probably will work fine, especially the lights and wipers. But the camera, if being used for lane detection etc. probably should be recalibrated - the screen itself may not be dead level for example. I'd have to check a repair manual to see if it is a required step in the process. Maybe it's a bit like changing a shock absorber - if you don't move the suspension adjustments you shouldn't need to check wheel alignment but best practice states you should.
  13. I expect it to be the same as the NX, 2WD entry level to hit a price point and AWD provided via an additional rear electric motor for the other grades.
  14. The heater part of the sensor just fail, the element burns out and instantly becomes a hard fault. O2 sensor itself start to become slow to react which effects performance and economy. Even before they generate a fault you can benefit from them being changed.
  15. I guess it depends how cheap. Second hand engines can be had for around £200 but there are other things to consider - clutch, gearbox, suspension etc. all at that age and mileage could be on their way out so you get an inspection done if you aren't confident yourself.
  16. Does it still open/close with the button? Have you checked there isn't a setting to stop it auto closing, maybe a new setting that was added? I'd recommend you leave it up anyway if you use it regularly. The ribbon cable that connects to the LCD screen can break with the screen being open and closed.
  17. There is a pressure sensor, if the pressure is low the clutch won't be engaged. If the clutch is jammed, which I doubt, you should get cold air as the system will be running.
  18. Very much dependant on the dealership in question but I believe most will farm it out.
  19. The newer RXs are stiffer, and therefore don't roll as much, compared to the serIes I and II models. But with less play in the tyre wall you can get jolted from side to side on pothole etc. As you have a Premium grade you have air suspension, have you tried lowering the ride height?
  20. Ouch. My dealer covers this themselves so there is just a £50 excess. My wife's car was in for a service today at Toyota and they charge £5 to drop the excess from £1000 to £50.
  21. There are a couple of fuses labelled AMP 1 and AMP 2, both 30 Amp, which you can remove to reset it.
  22. Attached is the installation manual. If you look at: step 52 - remove the headrest step 51 - unscrew J, remove cover E, and remove cover O? step 50 - remove 4 screws J and remove the screen (disconnecting the cable). step 47 - you will probably want to remove the bracket M but you will be left with a hole in the seat. 23. Systems that only have partial post code input remain that way, no updates provide that functionality unfortunately.
