  1. Hi Nicky It does sound like an issue with the battery pack, probably one or more cells having gone bad. Might be worth speaking to Richard: http://www.hybridbatterysolutions.co.uk
  2. Yes, Toyodiy.com show the same part code for RC and RC F. (with lane departure alert first, and without second).
  3. The engine isn't the smoothest at idling at certain times, especially when it is charging the battery instead of stopping. I'd not worry about it unless it gets worse. Unlikely to be a misfire as that would normally be detected by the ECU and trigger a warning light.
  4. Maybe not quite the top given the ES hybrid engine has a 41% efficiency rating.
  5. Should be good with essentials servicing. The only thing you may get charged extra for is an air filter as I believe only its inspection is included in the price. It really is quite pathetic of Lexus that they don't let dealers stamp the book. It is just confusing to potential new owners.
  6. The aux battery should be AGM or gel type so shouldn't leak acid even if it was damaged. It will be interesting to find our what the cause was.
  7. They are all built to order, nothing special about the grey leather. A huge percentage of all the GS Fs in the UK are ex press or dealer demonstrators and they didn't seem to order them with that colour interior. I'm guessing it didn't sell well anywhere as Lexus deleted that option globally for 2018 and instead introduced a black/red combo. I never really liked red seats previously however I must say that mine have grow on me, it certainly makes the interior more interesting.
  8. As above, you need to be in 'Ready' mode when parked up, not necessarily EV mode. If you are just on the ignition then you deplete the 12v aux lead acid battery, when in Ready, the hybrid battery provides all the power and charges up the 12v aux battery. Because the 12v battery isn't used to start the engine it is smaller than a normal car and therefore doesn't last as long on ignition to power the audio system etc. Whether you are in EV or not, if the hybrid battery gets low the petrol engine will start to allow the battery to be recharged. Once charged to about 1/4 the petrol engine will turn off again and this process will keep repeating.
  9. I think this is probably gone a little too far off-topic.
  10. No, as it is really just a MiFi fitted as an accessory independent to the vehicle. It doesn't integrate with the vehicle at all. And as the vehicle doesn't have a factory fitted 3G/4G Internet connection there are no built-in services that would make use of such a thing. In the US they have a completely different system, and have had it in one form or another for years. You get remote diagnostics, door unlocking, engine remote start, emergency assist / auto collision notification to emergency services etc.
  11. The car has no built-in Internet connectivity so isn't technically possible.
  12. Attached is the install guide. Item 1.9 (look at step 36) look like fuses to me. Possibly at the back of the DVD player too. This isn't factory fitted, hence no fuse in one of the main fuseboxes, this is fitted to vehicles on import by Lexus GB or the dealer. ICERHDAIM0003350PZ462K037200.pdf
  13. Excellent 🙂 FYI - the warning message would have probably disappeared after three journeys without issue - that is the norm.
  14. Lexus dealers (salesman) don't know even know to that level, let alone another dealership.Right or wrong, that is the reality.
  15. Lexus state Pioneer in their press release for the vehicle I believe. I guess there is an industry database that dealers have access to which has the base configurations for all vehicles, and the dealer didn't know or didn't check if any options had been added to the base configuration. As you say it certainly isn't obvious that Pioneer make the head unit. With regards to why Pioneer, Toyota have been dealing with them for decades and Japanese companies tend to deal with Japanese companies. Toyota typically use Pioneer for high end and Fujitsu-Ten and Panasonic for standard stereo equipment. Lexus formed a high end partnership with ML long before Harman purchased them and before Samsung purchased Harman. If anything I'd expect Toyota to stop dealing with ML rather than start to use Samsung for standard equipment but they also use JBL for Toyota higher end Amp/speaker configurations so they will probably stay as is for a while.
  16. In the US Lexus provide full connectivity to most/all of their models, including the Fs. Unfortunately they don't in Europe, maybe due to demand, cost, difficultly of a single carrier agreement - who knows. There is a Wifi hotspot accessory you can have fitted, which the vehicle's infotainment system can attach to. Much easier to just use a phone IMO, and you don't need a second SIM/contract. http://blog.lexus.co.uk/hotspot-brings-wifi-to-your-lexus/
  17. This is a Land Rover dealer so I wouldn't expect them to know all the details. Technically the Pioneer bit is correct, just not the 10 speaker part. Pioneer head units are used on ML systems - ML don't manufacture or alter those, ML just provide consultancy around speaker placement, and spec the amps and speakers.
  18. You cannot get an IS300 with manual transmission in the UK. The comment was to sell the IS200 and get an IS250. IMO I wouldn't do this. The IS200/300 has an excellent chassis, the series II is a completely different drive.
  19. I believe so yes. Not 100% sure but the illuminated scuff plate accessories fit all models so that implies the fittings are the same for all grades.
  20. Definitely check the throttle body. If you had an air leak after the MAF sensor then the long term fuel trims are probably way out which will take a while to come back in line. Might be worth resetting the ECU to clear everything - just disconnect the battery for 30 seconds. Was there some other issue for you to change all the coil packs? You would normally just replace one that is failing, they don't all fail at once. I assume there is no engine check light / error codes being generated? Ideally you want it connected to some diagnostic equipment to test and see if all the sensors are working as expected, otherwise we are just speculating and going through a trial and error process. It could be temp. sensor, air/fuel ratio sensors, MAF sensor, fuel pressure etc. etc.
  21. Depreciation was always there but leasing has allowed manufacturers to massively increase the list price of vehicles over the last 6 years without people really noticing - they are just concerned if they can afford the monthly payments. Now the lease terms are creeping up from 3 years to 4 or 5 years, again to hide the list price increases - even worse in the US where some lease durations are up to 7 years.
