  3. Looking at Toyodiy.com there is a dedicated UK instrument cluster for the non F Sport, but the F Sport has a common European part code so it must be possible to convert. Possibly using Techstream if the standard in-vehicle configuration options don't allow it.

  5. One of the justifications for the extreme servicing costs on Lexus vehicles in the UK is all major services include "4-wheel alignment check - extra charge for adjustment". Has anybody actually experienced their dealer performing this check as part of their standard service? I'm never given an alignment results output and I'd certainly expect a phone call for them wanting to make an adjustment so they can charge a bit extra. I'm really not sure all dealers are performing this work.
  6. They would depend on what is stored in the prom. It may well be that something like meters or wheel revolutions are stored, and is converted to the units required, which allows it to be easily changed on the fly.
  7. It is a simple thing to implement but if it hasn't been designed to be changed from miles to kms then it needs to be replaced. BMW do it so they can saving money by just having one part, Toyota normally have dedicated parts for LHD and RHD vehicles, and ones that as sold to countries that use MPH or KM/H. I guess for 99.99% of owners there is never a need to change the odometer units.
  8. 400h 12v battery is known for failing between 6 and 10 years old and causing all sorts of symptoms.
  9. Check the state of your 12v battery and earth connections to the engine as poor electrical power can cause multiple sensor issues. A bad MAF cannot trigger heater circuit errors in the O2 sensors, it could only trigger rich/lean errors from the O2 sensors by incorrectly fuelling the engine. O2 heater errors cannot trigger MAF errors.

  11. Their guns should have a torque limit on them. You want the studs to be weak, more expensive to replace the nuts or alloys that would fail if the stud didn't.
  12. My old 400h was always quite good in the snow considering I just had normal tyres on it. The series II is quite a bit more refined than the series I RX, especially the hybrid. The series I was good in its day but the 4 speed auto doesn't have the slickest of changes. Between my wife and I, we have owned a 2000 RX300 and 2005 RX400h.
  13. This is my oil, taken yesterday before it was serviced. 12 months old, but only a few thousand miles. Looks similar to your picture. Having driven 25 miles home from the dealer after its service, an hour in traffic, it is almost impossible to see the oil on the dipstick. I'd say yours hasn't been changed.

  15. All UK Lexus vehicles have an alarm. They don't have a third 'panic' button that vehicles in the US have.

  17. Early Toyota hybrids had very small batteries that were deep-cycled too often so didn't last. Ones this decade don't suffer as much but still don't last as long as a big battery found in something like the LS. For their size they are quite expensive though, the odd shape and need for ventilation, because most are located in the cabin, means there isn't a big choice.
  18. They don't come with ASC in the UK, the hybrid models do. It is naff anyway so don't lose any sleep over it and really only developed to give the hybrid models a sound closer to a normal vehicle. I don't know why ASC is fitted to the 200t in some countries.
  19. Toyota state that their normal flooded batteries shouldn't be discharged more than 50% and AGM's used in all current hybrids no more than 70% discharged (30% remaining).
  20. Yes the inverter assembly boosts 230.4 VDC from the hybrid battery to 650 VDC and then to 3 phase AC to power the electric motor and also contains a DC-DC step down converter to provide 14 VDC for the car's electrical system and to charge the 12 V battery.
  21. Speedos have to be within a certain accuracy for European law. Lexus could certainly make it more accurate, but why have that expense added to a vehicle if it isn't needed. On the IS for example there are three tyre/wheel sizes across the different grades - all have a different circumference but have the same speedo calibration, each one could be calibrated differently to improve accuracy but would add to manufacturing costs. There are two threads on this topic at the moment.   22. Can't be done online. Either there is a flap above the hazard warning switch which lifts up and you replace the micro SD card or you have a hard drive based system that needs to be dealer updated.
