  1. I believe there are six coils, one next to each cylinder, with short HT leads to the plugs rather than integrated coil packs.
  2. You have me doubting myself now, will have to check when I use my car to go to work tomorrow. According to my manual you can set lock and unlock via the remote touch (1) or dealer (3) - you can use Techstream for this but something easier to use such as Carista would be recommended. Mine is a 2016 model so all options may not be available to older ones.
  3. It's not even a case of needing a retro-fit as HUD was an option in other countries at launch of the series IV. Not sure why Lexus GB left it out, they even blogged about it as a feature before the vehicle was released - I guess it was to hit a desired price point or to hold things back to make the facelift more attractive in 3 years time 😞 I wouldn't say it is an essential feature but I find it very useful and would probably pay extra to have it on my next vehicle. It's the same with many features, once you have it, it is then difficult to go without.
  4. Not purchased myself but that is a Lexus part number. toyodiy.com is an electronics part catalog for Toyota/Lexus vehicles.
  5. My 2016 GS allows this, either linked to the gear selector or once the vehicle start moving. I believe it is set via the infotainment vehicle settings rather than the dashboard display.
  6. looks like 45186-76010-C0 is required for the trim with CC.
  7. 2012/13 equipment sheet attached. 1366813643121228MGSEquipList.pdf
  8. 6-speed facelift 430 is very nice however won't be as reliable as a LS400 due to increased tech and air suspension.
  9. I think it may be a limitation of the system given the age. Certain phones won't do contact uploads in the way it expects. Some people have had luck transferring one at a time or in groups. Hopefully someone here can further help.
  10. Toyota have stated the new RAV4 won't get CarPlay. I have a feeling that the Camry, ES and UX won't either - let's hope I'm wrong.
  11. The US vehicles will definitely have CarPlay, I don't understand why it is so difficult to get a full spec for European models 😞
  12. I've had that before for a day or two and then corrected itself. I assumed there was a problem with the backend servers.
  13. PCS on the pre-facelift models just uses radar behind the front grille. I believe that camera is part of the automatic high beam system for the headlights. If you have Lane Departure Alert, Road Sign Assist etc on the facelift models then you will have a camera mounted in that position but it will look more like the Volvo picture and PCS also uses it.
  14. Great new Andy. Yes the large fuses are normally a pain, many are bolted in - not sure on the 400h.
  15. I'd enter the diagnostics screen and see if any errors are displayed - the radio unit may not be detected by the system. Once in there also go to 'Display Check' menu and then select 'Panel Switch Check' to make sure all the buttons are working correctly (e.g. the FM and AM buttons).
  16. I don't have a wiring diagram for the 2000 LS400 but other posts suggest the cig. lighter can cause this fuse to blow (I would have thought it was on a separate circuit). Make sure nothing is shorting out the lighter socket and maybe just disconnect it. Otherwise you may have to disconnect things to eliminate them. Try disconnecting the compressor clutch first.
  17. Occasional discharge will be okay, although a little capacity may be lost. My point was more about how long you can realistically leave your vehicle with a draw of around 300 mA (250 mA + 50 mA). In theory that would last for 10 days but given that you don't want to drop it below 50% then you should only aim for 5 days as a maximum. You can get deep-cycle batteries which withstand heavier discharge compared to normal, you could take them down to 70% discharged - more and you can again damaged them and you need a certain amount of charge left to be able to start then engine. Maybe consider a solar trickle charger for when you leave it for a few days at a time?
  18. The car itself will use around 50 mA for the alarm, clock, remote locking etc. etc. Normal flooded batteries don't like being discharged below 50%, it will damage them and you will lose capacity.
