  1. It just has to be performed at an official Lexus retail or service centre and conform to the schedule in the service book. Essentials care would therefore qualify IMO.
  2. Depending on model it is more likely to be in the boot than the engine bay but yes the normal 12v aux batteries can go flat/fail which need to be recharged/replaced, as with a normal vehicle.
  3. Moved to the correct location 😉 The new emission rules are for new models being introduced, so existing models can continue to be sold without modification for some time. The facelift RC F was affected by this, and they went to full Euro 6d compliance. A Gasoline Particulate Filter was fitted which took away 14 bhp 😞 WLTP means mpg figures should be more real world but you need to be careful when comparing different vehicles in case they are on the two different standards.
  4. These colour codes are correct. They aren't normal Toyota paint codes though, they are probably BBS Japan OEM colour codes and touch-ups aren't available.
  5. I'd strongly advise you don't do it at all. The battery isn't large and not really the suitable for starting a vehicle. If you wanted to do it then you must take connections directly off the battery. You will blow fuses if you tried to use the engine compartment charging points.
  6. Okay that makes sense, that was within the 2011 revisions then. So there is just a one year period where the blue steering wheel exists without the sports button. 2011 also brought in Euro 5 engine emissions, revised suspension, and the black engine cover.
  7. Are you sure? 2010 facelift with the blue section steering wheel should all have sport button.
  8. Same as the CT and NX, I'm guessing a limitation of the FWD hybrid drivetrain
  9. If it has been serviced by Lexus then it should have 0W-20 oil in it. If it is actually low then putting in some 5W-30 is better than nothing. I don't actually believe that message is for low oil, just a maintenance reminder.
  10. I'm guessing it is not a sensor but the fuel route switching valve.
  11. Make sure you drive for 15+ minutes to get the fluid up to temperature Park on level ground With the engine running slowly move the gear selector from P all the way to L and back again. With the engine still running and transmission in P or N, check the level on the dipstick.
  12. Some dealers put their demonstrators up for sale immediately. Very grey, inside and out. I'm sure it looks better in person, the interior pictures are bad due to a poor use of flash.
  13. It could well be an exhaust leak. You wouldn't normally get a fuel smell, unless the ECU is overfueling which it shouldn't do just because of that error. I'd check/clean the MAF sensor if you haven't done that already.
  14. All the best, sounds like you have made a good financial decision.
  15. There is no such error code on a GS300. There is a random misfire code, and a specific misfire code for each cylinder. Misfire does not mean directly mean a coil issue. The trouble area(s) are shown below, any of these can be the cause - ordered from most to least likely, however the more cylinder affected the more the troubled area points towards something in common with them all - i.e. air or fueling.
  16. Why would multiple coil packs fail at once? It doesn't happen. If you get misfire readings randomly across different cylinders then it is typically an air leak or fuelling issue that causes the ECU to 'detect' is a miss. If it is an error that is consistent with a certain cylinder then it is more typically a coil pack / plug.
  17. Some European manufacturers have specific oil requirements to use their extended service intervals.
  18. Regen braking will be used where possible but it can only provide a certain amount of resistance. If you need more then conventional brakes will also apply in combination with electric braking. If the needle moves to the bottom of the regen section of the power meter then any greater braking force is from mechanical brakes. The amount of regen braking force possible will be reduced if the batteries are full or over temperature, at which point the needle will move to the bottom of the regen section much sooner than you were expecting. You should have no concern over the 'complex' brake system. It works well and is proven across all Toyota hybrids for 20+ years. The only 'disadvantage' you can get is that if you are the type of driver that is light on brakes then almost all will be electric rather than mechanical, and as the latter gets little use that can start to seize and the discs will corrode which leads to noise so it is always worth performing a few hard stops every few weeks. The benefit is brakes pads and discs can easily last 40k+ miles.
  19. Nothing officially announced yet. Not sure why there is such a delay as the NX, RX, and CT have all had their range revised already.
  20. I'm left handed but play a right handed guitar which has its advantages. Like Mark Knopfler, in only that way 😞
  21. yeah iPhones definitely don't support phonebook syncing on those Nav systems.
  22. Double checked the change history, HUD was added to the 450h Premier at the same time the 300h came out - factory built from Oct 2013, in the UK from Jan 2014.
  23. Both speed and gearshift auto locking options are available on my 2016 model via the infotainment system. Possibly specific year change rather than at the major facelift - every year has minor changes to the vehicle spec. Or possibly an infotainment system upgrade which enabled the feature. For those that don't have the option via the infotainment system, has anyone confirmed it is available as a Techstream/Carista option?
  24. I'm left handed, and use a mouse in my left hand and don't really have an issue with Lexus' remote touch that others do. I've often wondered if most people who complain use a mouse in their right hand.
