  1. Those faults would be covered under the Lexus Extended Warranty provided you keep the warranty valid by servicing at a Lexus dealer etc. https://d3rvezpmgp265q.cloudfront.net/lexusone/lexgbenv11/Lexus-Extended-Warranty-Terms-and-Conditions_tcm-3157-1184113.pdf
  2. Lexus Swindon sell parts online: https://www.lexuspartsdirect.co.uk For expensive items you will find importing from the US cheaper than purchasing in the UK. Rockauto.com is a popular site which gives great service - you just need to make sure you don't need a European specific part.
  3. There is no gearbox change, other than the removal of snow mode on the 2019 models. There is a tiny physical change to the intake, and the intake control valve opens at a lower rpm. No changes to the engine for Europe, same as the 2018 model (i.e. down on power compared to pre-2018 models). There is no change to the rear diff, expect for South Korea which gets a lower drive ratio, for all RC F, not just track edition.
  4. normal side windows cut about 70% out. Lexus windows are coated to achieve 90% for both UVA and UVB.
  5. The windscreen has UV protection, 99% reduction. Obviously laminated too for safety and also for noise reduction. Don't know what is used to eliminate the UV though. The side and rear windows are also coated for UV cut to 90% reduction.
  6. You possibly need to change the boots as it sounds like they are worn and letting in water, or the wrong grease is being used. You shouldn't need to do it that regularly. Never heard of a new vehicle under three years old with stuck sliding pins.
  7. What are you talking about? There is a whole section of the video where is goes frame by frame in a video editor to get the start and end points and adjusts the time accordingly.
  8. Not worth trying to get them into a good state. Either put them back on if you don't mind them not working (not tested in the MOT so cannot fail if it is secure), or purchase some new ones from eBay (make sure you get the correct ones as there was a design change on later vehicles and I'm not sure if they are interchangeable. Not aware of blanking plates for these, you would have to make something up yourself.
  9. What theory? Maybe you should offer your services to Toyota, they obviously can save themselves millions in your consultancy by not having to use different parts in different countries and go through multiple homologation exercises. The method used is very accurate, down to whatever video frame rate was used in the video. 1/30 second is 0.033 sec, so accurate to within 0.07 sec once you factor in a frame either way on the start and the finish, and he probably used 60 frames per second to half that inaccuracy.
  10. The warranty T&Cs just state servicing at a Lexus service centre, so Essentials is acceptable.
  11. Why do you insist on posting things you know nothing about? Where is you proof that most cars are made to a UN standard? There are many different rules and regulations in different territories. EU, US, Canada, AUS etc. all have different requirements. But rather than just making stuff up, the following has extracts from actual Toyota service manuals which give tolerances, which if aren't met means the speedo should be replaced as it is faulty:
  12. Dealers aren't really interested in fixing a caliper, and when they charge over £150 per hour labour it probably isn't worth asking them to try as they will soon exceed the cost of a new one. DIY or an independent is definitely the way to go. Once a vehicle is five years old, re-greasing the sliding pins every couple of years should be done as preventative maintenance to avoid this big expense.
  13. Brake fluid change is included in the major service, and if a hybrid then you also get the health check with an additional 12 months warranty on the battery. Yes servicing at Lexus is expensive, but so is the vehicle in the first place - spares and servicing costs are proportional to the vehicle cost and partially set based on the disposable income of the target market. You will always find better value outside of the main dealer network.
  14. I agree it isn't 100% accurate but I wouldn't say pointless. It shows that the car is pretty quick, and that the different modes make a difference as the speed of gear shifting is increased etc. Using the frames of the video was a good way to improve accuracy, he just doesn't have an absolute starting point or a totally accurate speed measurement but is probably within 0.3 sec. Re 0-62, I meant in the UK but if we want to talk about the US then your statement about the speedo isn't totally correct. They have a tolerance somewhere around -6% to +10% accuracy at 60 mph and typically read in the middle of that range which means there is the possibility of the indicated speed being totally accurate, rather than ours which is about +4% to +10% accuracy and so always reads over, never the correct speed.
  15. Lexus never provide 0-60 times, it is always 0-62mph (100 km/h). That may not sound a big difference but a car capable of 0-60 in 6.0 seconds would need another 0.2 seconds to get to 62 mph if acceleration was linear, which it isn't and would actually need > 0.2 seconds extra.
  16. That seems to now be old news. GT will carry on but just with ad-hoc specials only.
  17. I'm sure it will fit but the new RAV is built on a new chassis which the new NX will get. Putting the new engine and transmission into the old NX isn't that straightforward which unfortunately means the NX lags behind. But not just in powertrain, in chassis performance, suspension, all of the tech etc. etc.
  18. It's the same a saying all Michelin tyres are the same. There are multiple different grades and price points that Brembo sell. The GS F and RC F Brembo pads don't even use Brembo friction material - the cheaper ones probably do.
  19. You don't need to alter the brake pedal on the CT200h. Plenty of members here have already done this, either themselves or their local dealer - all discussed in this thread.
