  1. Take a look here which may also help: https://lexus.7zap.com/en/eu/lexus+rx/521220/mcu35r-awagkw/4/8401/ Worth checking all your fuses if you have multiple issues - not only the fuses boxes in the cabin but also in the engine bay.
  2. If you drive with the glovebox open does the sound go away? Definitely try some silicone spray or Gummi Pflege on the passenger door seals. Noises have a habit of appearing to come from somewhere completely different to where the noise is actually being made.
  3. The EGR cooler has a matrix that looks like it could easily crack and let exhaust gas into the coolant. See bottom right. A head gasket can fail just between a cylinder and a water passage and therefore you will have no affect on the oil.
  4. It has never been related to the fuel cap, that would produce a completely different error code. One person received a CEL once which was fuel cap related and now people think that is the only reason a CEL will come on, when in fact there are hundreds of different error codes that can trigger that light.
  5. £4k for a HUD, seems a bit extreme. Both my wife's and my car have HUDs - they are useful but I certainly could live without it.
  6. Shouldn't be too hard to find one Stuart 🙂 What's your budget? The following gives you info on the different grades:
  7. 5 is meant to adjust the top part of the seat back rather than the head restraint itself, which is what I believe Robert adjusted to make things slightly better. Looking on some of the US forums, seems the premium seats don't have movable headrests, other than the butterfly design which allows the sides to come in. I guess the seatbacks with an adjustable top don't get forward/backwards adjustable headrests, and the non-premium seats do.
  8. The three seat designs that I've seen don't have any electric adjustment for the head restraints. Maybe there is a fourth design?
  9. as above. Look for videos on the magic wand tool which will allow you to select colour within a tolerance or outline of shapes. You keep adding elements until you have everything selected (and remove elements that are selected by mistake), then apply a fill using a blending mode so you retain some shadowing. Below isn't great as some of the brake rotor ended up in the selection. P.S. don't choose green for your new wheel colour.
  10. There is no such thing as a BCM on the series II RX300. There are multiple control modules, all looking after elements of the electronic systems which are categorised as BCMs. What control system are you specifically looking for?
  11. Newer models are slightly better. The F Sport is a few mpg below all the others due to the aerodynamic drag of the styling. The 18" wheels of the F Sport and Premier also affect mpg.
  12. Worth checking the air filter housing is correctly seated, especially at the back with the top part located into the rear lugs.
  13. As you can see from the video, you need to use both hands and use quite a bit of force to allow the ratchet mechanism to move from the forward most position to the back. You could always swap the driver and passenger headrests over, they look symmetrical.
  14. There is a TSB for warranty repairs on the Prius in the US. The warranty is up to 60k miles so clearly it was happening before then on some vehicles, however Prius forums in the US indicate this is more common once vehicles get to 100k miles.
  15. Certainly sounds like the head gasket then, no other reason for smoke. Possibly it is a small leak which is closing up once the engine block expands with heat otherwise you would be loosing a lot more coolant.
  16. Air being trapped in the system can cause this issue, as it will expand more than the liquid and increase the pressure to the point where the cap has to release pressure. Make sure the system is fully purged of air. Ideally place vehicle on slope with nose pointing up, set interior heater to max, remove pressure cap and start engine until up to temperature and cooling fans come on. Hopefully all air will be drawn into the expansion tank. A small air leak could be drawing in air, typically from the radiator or hoses. Get the coolant checked for CO2 - that will confirm if it is a head gasket issue. Either professionally or a home test kit such as: https://www.amazon.co.uk/COMBUSTION-LEAK-KIT-PETROL-DIESEL/dp/B018PM3ZFQ
  17. 2015 on models have redesigned pistons and rings to avoid excessive oil consumption, but many don't actually suffer from this issue. For Toyota/Lexus to recognise this as an issue in the US the vehicle has to use more than 1 litre in 1,100 miles.
  18. Probably removed to hit a specific price point, rather than just to make a distinction to Lexus, just wish they would allow it to be added as a costed option.
  19. It's never going to sell in big numbers but with diesels out of favour, Toyota can bring their worldwide hybrid saloon to Europe, rather than having a European special, the Avensis, with the Corolla saloon covering the smaller saloon segment.
  20. Full spec is available. Camryequiplist.pdf
  21. I was surprised the Camry is priced so low compared to the ES. It is a smaller vehicle and missed some creature comforts such as memory seats etc. but the Excel compares well with the ES with Premium Pack. Not sure dealers have any in yet to go and look at as it is July before customer orders are expected to start arriving.
  22. Does it move forwards? It may not move back because it is already as far back as it goes. The modern 'anti-whiplash' designs are a lot further forward than on previous generations.
  23. I believe those are the standard F Sport front seats. If you select either the Premium Plus Pack or the Takumi Pack you will get full leather seats.
  24. Always worth negotiating with a dealer at their financial year/half year/quarter/month end. Guildford is part of Inchcape who have a financial year that aligns with the calendar, therefore the best time would be end of Dec, June, March/Sept and then at every month end.
