  1. Yes I see, that was added to the GS F around 2018/19 - not sure if the last UK vehicles have this or not.
  2. Some press cars are just used for road testing, others on the track. Lexus will only replace what is needed. Just about every GS F on the road was either a press car, demonstrator, or Toyota staff car - no one brought one at full price!
  3. Have you been to your dealer? They should replace the covers under warranty.
  4. Most of the fluid is in the torque convertor and valve body - you cannot just drain it from there unfortunately. Some garages have machines to replace it all, but power flush machines should be avoided. To DIY you can disconnect the hose going to the cooler, start the engine, let 1 l come out, stop the engine, add in 1 l and repeat until the fluid coming out is a nice bright red. It is probably safest to just drain and refill the pan three of four times, once a day/week maybe.
  5. A relay attack isn't possible on a 400h, none of them came with smart entry. There must have been another reason.
  6. The IS 250 was dropped September 2015 to order (so there may have been some already on order and registered afterwards) and replaced by the IS 200T which was around until the same time 2017. Both are very rare, selling in the low hundreds down to a few dozen per year compared to two to three thousand hybrids. Premier is the top spec. F Sport is in between Luxury and Premier but is more sports oriented rather than comfort.
  7. Most cars locate the condenser in front of the radiator. The fan serves a dual purpose, to cool the coolant in the radiator and to also cool the condenser. If the engine isn't up to temperature it doesn't affect the warming up as the thermostat in the cooling system hasn't opened up to allow the coolant to flow through the radiator.
  8. Toyota oil, certainly the good stuff, is made by Mobil. They have facilities in France.
  9. Not 100% sure but I don't believe so. 2012+ is getting to the point where multi-disc wasn't really a thing, with most people wanting USB/iPod/Bluetooth for large music collections, the single slot multi-disc units have never been the most reliable of things, and the older cartridge systems take up too much space.
  10. It depends if your immobiliser light goes out or not. I never had to wait when I disconnected the battery on my old GS430.
  11. They were 6-disc units pre-facelift, but post facelift the premium system changed to single disc with DAB radio.
  12. Definitely the RX. Either one is improved in comfort by going for the grades with the smaller wheels.
  13. I believe it is a single disc unit. It's actually a DVD player but obviously will play CDs as well.
  14. Either coming in from the sunroof or the top of the windscreen isn't sealed correctly. Yes it is covered under warranty (if original windscreen), and yes you could reject the vehicle or at least insist the dealer puts things right irrespective of the Lexus warranty.
  15. Alldata is wrong. The official torque specification from Toyota for the plugs is 25 Nm (18 ft lbf).
  16. Sport launched along with the whole UK IS range in late 1999 and existed all the way through to the end of the series I IS in 2005.
  17. Higher 97 to 99 RON would give the best performance but it will run fine on standard 95 RON. Some people see a 5% mpg improvement, less so on hybrids but depending where you live the extra cost could be 10% so isn't really worth it IMO.
  18. Make sure the transmission is in Park and the parking brake is on.
  19. The 12v battery in a hybrid is smaller than a standard vehicle and therefore doesn't take as long to discharge if left for a long time. There is a charging/jump terminal in the engine bay fusebox to avoid you having to open the boot.
  20. No worse than the original. Maybe just the way that dyno operates, or doesn't smooth out the graph like some do. This is what Toyota provide against that engine which is definitely smoothed out (averaged):
  21. You need the following parts: 2x 75595-48011 cover, roof drip RH 2x 75596-48011 cover, roof drip LH 4x 63185-42020 bracket, roof rack 8x 90080-11724 bolt w/washer
  22. No reported hybrid issues on the series III RX450h, and there are probably 3 to 4 times as many of those on the road compared to the series III GS450h. Definitely worth getting the error code read from your vehicle - it may not be the same issue and could be something simple.
  23. I'd suggest you would get 2 to 3 mpg more in a series III and then 2 to 3 mpg more again for a series IV.
