  1. That's a great deal but unfortunately it is very much dealer specific, it isn't policy of Lexus GB or most dealers.
  2. This is untrue. The service plan fully accounts for the price of the services it covers and is the same price as getting them done as you go at today's prices. If additional work is required, it is an extra cost with either option. The only thing the service plan does is allow you to spread payments and price protects you against price increases of pay as you go services.
  3. True but several things aren't covered under warranty so you still have to consider labour rates.
  4. Northern Irish plate. Been on used.lexus.co.uk before according to a google image search - dealer that had it must be selling it on. White, as you say, with a red interior.
  5. I believe the engine bay should look more black rather than a brown/grey colour 😉 That box you are pointing to houses the engine and transmission ECUs. The pipe next to the washer filler in a cold air inlet, and the missing pipe is the outlet. Of the two, better to have the outlet missing. I believe the part code is 82776-50020. Not sure it goes anywhere, just diverts the hot air to the front of the vehicle. You can see the engine bay in this brief video - slightly different to yours as it is a LHD vehicle.
  6. Do you know the vehicle? I'd assume this is an ex Toyota GB press or staff vehicle as they put them through BCA when they are done and are normally purchased by Lexus dealers.
  7. Shame but the writing has been on the wall for some time and we knew the replacement model had been cancelled. Saloon sales are massively down in the US, and Lexus has too many of them, with the GS being the worst seller (even the much more expensive LS outsold it 2 to 1 last year) - although to be fair that is partly down to the current model being 8 year's old.
  8. UK ones do have snow mode, and as you say probably more useful to us as the majority of owner won't fit winter tyres, and certainly not studded ones.
  9. To be really pedantic, very few Toyota hybrids use Lithium but they are used in the standard Prius+ and also the plug-ins.
  10. This thread shows £ 100 + VAT. It is a service invoice but the labour rate should be fixed, they adjust the quantity and overprice oil to get to the fixed service figure. https://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/123038-service/ Rates will vary across the country due to overhead costs being different (wages, rent etc.).
  11. Welcome Tony. You normally don't have to worry about the hybrid battery but probably best to put the vehicle into Ready mode for 30 mins every six to eight weeks to allow the battery to be charged up a little as there will be some self-discharge. Just let the engine cut in and out as required.
  12. Are the tyres really worn on the edge to the point of being close to the legal limit? Only the middle 75% of the tyre has any tread limit and that has to be for main treads and not secondaries.
  13. https://www.lexuspartsdirect.co.uk are taking orders and will be shipping out next week on their backlog. They probably have the filter in stock so shouldn't have to wait for supplies from Toyota GB.
  14. My local Inchcape Lexus dealer just sub out all body repairs.
  15. https://www.diecastlegends.com/road-cars/lexus-gs-f-black-1-18.html
  16. I believe on the CT the rear piston you have to wind it in - best to use a rotation tool as it may not be easy with the end of long nose pilers. Also be prepared to find corroded sliding pins.
  17. Newer system in current vehicles have an auto cutoff after 10 days of no activity. Not sure how much power it actually draws, not that much really I suspect.
  18. All AGM batteries are deep cycle to an extent, certainly more so than a flooded battery. IMO this is a good reason to have a deep cycle battery on a hybrid (unless you can fit a higher capacity flooded battery) because otherwise going on holiday for 2 weeks will take flooded battery below 50% and damage it (losing a bit of capacity). An AGM can take 70% discharge without too much damage.
  19. you will probably need to get your head in the footwell and look up - similar position to the tyre pressure reset switch on other Lexus vehicles which people struggle to find just by feeling about.
  20. Is 0W-20 correct for the UX? I would have thought it would be using 0W-16 being such a new vehicle. I've found that the oil price seems to be the way the dealer inflates the price to match the fixed price Lexus service cost - almost because they don't want to show a real labour cost of around £150+VAT per hour. Offer to supply your own oil next time and see how much they take off the price 😉 What is also annoying is that the oil cost is possibly the real cost they would charge you for Toyota 0W-20 oil, if you purchased from the spares department in 1l bottles, but they purchase oil in bulk for a fraction of the price.
  21. my comment on the lowest recommended in any country was in reference to a Lexus F vehicle.
  22. Regen braking doesn't produce much power at all and it doesn't get dumped into the 12v battery. Much more power available from the hybrid battery. Not sure what current the vehicle will supply to the 12v battery to charge it, as with a conventional vehicle the charging system is really only designed to keep the battery topped up, not charge it up from a semi-discharged state - you use a battery charger for that.
  23. yes, although the criteria should include whether the seats fold like with the IS300h or fixed like the ES. Gases from charging are covered as some flooded batteries have a central vent which can be plumbed outside, but gases from a damaged battery from an accident could still come through the ski hatch if open. On the Prius IV (2016 onwards) they have moved the battery back to the engine bay, and flooded - plus made it a little larger compared to the previous generation.
