  1. Possibly just low on pressure. Best to get the diagnostic code(s) read to know for sure.
  2. Correct, the Speedo is calibrated to read over.
  3. This is not the case in the UK. The upgrade to provide CarPlay/AA functionality is a paid for software upgrade on 2019 models. I don't believe the Nav upgrade is required, it certainly never use to be. My wife's UX was upgraded for CarPlay; initially it was going to be around £90 but we got it added for free as part of the purchase deal of the vehicle - it was under 3 years old so still had free map upgrades at the time but the latest map update wasn't applied when I picked it up. Just tell them you don't want the Nav update - one of the reasons for having CarPlay/AA is so you don't have to use the Lexus Nav so pointless upgrading it IMO.
  4. No it isn't true. Only the bonnet is an Aluminium Steel alloy, all other body panels are steel. Even if it was true, with the correct primer and paint you would achieve consistent colour - otherwise every new car would have been rejected for poor paint. The fact is that metallic silver is very difficult to match. The vehicle in question had a cheap respray by only doing a single panel rather than a more expensive blending across multiple panels to hide the slight colour differences.
  5. Limiter is based on actual speed not what the Speedo shows which reads over by design.
  6. Many just see it as a wrap which attracts a high premium, but even if not there is still a higher cost if it has to be removed to perform a repair so it needs to be declared. Even if declared, most policies won't cover the PPF itself so a new one won't be reapplied after repair work 😞
  7. This. I've been told in the past that my pads were low and wouldn't last before the next service 12 months later is due but on inspection they were fine and were still on the vehicle three years later.
  8. If Lexus fit an aftermarket immobiliser then it will be to a standard, located in the same place (or at best just a few common locations) so it wouldn't take that long for it to be discovered and a workaround procedure documented and shared on the dark web. Ideally it needs to be fitted in a location that takes time to access - however that makes the installation cost higher.
  9. There won't be an official recall, not one that involves government agencies as it isn't a safety issue. Lexus can choose to to inform all owners via their database of ownership (which goes out of date as people buy/sell their vehicles), through proactive advertising, inform owners as they bring their vehicles in for service, or just expect owners to find out themselves and enquire with their dealer.
  10. Correct. This is specific NX information showing how the state of charge changes as the vehicle is driven - it lacks scale detail but is essentially the same as all the Toyota/Lexus hybrids with a NiMH traction/hybrid battery.
  11. Depending on your speed the petrol engine will be driven (not actually consuming fuel) to protect the transmission even if the battery isn't full. Once the battery is fully charged then regen braking has to stop (no where for the energy to go) and so it uses the engine as a load to provide a constant 'engine braking' force - without doing so you vehicle would suddenly start accelerating down the hill.
  12. maybe up to 5 mpg compared to a non F-Sport on 17" wheels and probably only 1 or 2 mpg compared to a non F-Sport with 18" wheels. Wheels are the biggest contributing factor but the F Sport is also slightly less aerodynamic than the others.
  13. Check for water in the boot well. The government MOT checker also states if there are any outstanding recalls on the vehicle, or use the Lexus online tool: https://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/about-my-lexus/vehicle-recall
  14. Try squirting WD40 into the circular slot to drive out any water - or try using thin paper in the slot to remove any dirt that may be in there.
  15. Assuming the battery you put in is good then try pressing and holding down unlock for up to 30 seconds until the car responds.
  16. These are the current prices for minor/major services: https://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/servicing-and-maintenance/servicing-mot-hybrid-health-check
  17. Based on poor mpg and not noticing the petrol engine shutting down points to the possibly needs the ISC reset, which may need to be done if the 12v battery is disconnected/goes flat. 1) Make sure the vehicle is fully warmed up. 2) With the vehicle stopped and in Drive, press firmly on the brake with left foot to keep the vehicle from moving and then press the accelerator while watching the power meter (to the left of the speedometer). Press down on the accelerator to keep the needle between 1/4 and 3/4 up the scale. You will find that the engine management system will automatically limit the engine load no matter how far you press down on the pedal so the amount you press is not critical as long as it is either at 1/2 scale or to the engine's self-limiting load value (e.g 1/4). Keep the engine loaded for a full 30 seconds but not longer than 40 seconds (this procedure brings the hybrid battery up to a maximum state of charge - if you watch the battery symbol, you willl see it tick up to a "full" display). 3) Place in park and turn off. 4) Wait 5 seconds. 5) Turn the ignition key back on to display "Ready". 6) Make sure the A/C and heater system controls are set to off. 6) Lightly press the accelerator pedal until the engine starts - then immediately take your foot off the accelerator and let the engine run until it stops by itself.
  18. Every 100k/10 years for belt. Ideally the water pump should be done at the same time but isn't on a fixed schedule.
  19. Even their premium aero designed ones?
  20. Pick up a used set on eBay. Or look at Cruz bars which get good reviews and are much cheaper than Thule. https://www.roofbox.co.uk/scripts/rbvehsel3.php?emulate=roofbar&query=8124
  21. On all other models you get two normal keys and a keycard in addition on certain grades. Not sure if Lexus cheaped out specifically on the 300e but I don't see why.
