  1. No question to fit Iridium ones, just which ones - long lasting or standard 60k ones. I suspect most people wouldn't think they will have their existing vehicle in another 100k miles and therefore settle on the standard ones.
  2. 1500 rpm is normal when cold, around 700 when hot. Has your battery been disconnected, somethings it takes a while for it to learn the idle speeds and ideally needs to be driven, with stop start driving to learn quickly. Otherwise your throttle body may be in need of a clean.
  3. Hi Alan As of the April 2020 price list the NX Premium Pack is £ 39,315 (actually £ 39,260 for this discussion as it is minus £ 55 for first registration fee which isn't counted for the tax threshold) and standard metallic paint is £ 670, so no, it doesn't exceed £40k to hit the additional tax. If you went for the special metallic paint (Sonic White, Sonic Titanium, Azure Blue, Blazing Carnelian) then you would be over £ 40k.
  4. You are correct, use the OBD port at it has a permanent 12v feed. It seems a good price, Halford do ones for a similar price but don't come with the OBD connector as standard. Just remember that the power it produces is very low. It won't charge your battery but hopefully will maintain it with 12+ hours of daylight - so make sure it is fully charged first.
  5. 60k miles in the UK for OEM Iridium plugs if you want to conform to manufacturer's schedule. If you upgrade to high performance plugs, such as Denso Iridium Power, then the schedule will be different, for IR it is 30k miles. Or long life Iridium TT which is 100k miles.
  6. There was one in the bottom 15 that has £20k of work on a single claim - cannot believe any of their policies allow that amount.
  7. Would have been nice to get a discount but I guess not on their approved list of additional security devices.
  8. You have to pay duty, either up front or once in the UK. You either select one of the courier options that calculate all the duty and VAT up front, or you select US postal service and get the Royal Mail wanting payment before they will deliver + an admin fee. Rock Auto are great though, used them many times and never had a problem + good prices.
  9. Welcome Jim. Good luck with the search. Don't lose patience and compromise on a 200/220d.
  10. I'm sure it can be locked with the windows open, just not the doors. If you are locking with the fob then you need to disable to motion sensor on the alarm. Maybe that is what is stopping it???
  11. They are rare cars, so finding one in the colour of choice is difficult unless you want the colour all the demonstrators and press cars came in. There is one white one, but essentially new - and you could probably negotiate a new one cheaper. https://usedcars.lexus.co.uk/en/used-lexus/Lexus/Lc-Coupe/500h-35-Sport-2dr-Auto-t7cah77
  12. From 2011 there is no mention of ML in the press pack and the price list doesn't mention it either (no multimedia option). There are some vehicles with 2011 plates but they are probably old stock, any genuine MY2011 vehicles (with black centre caps in the wheels, black/silver steering wheel etc.) won't have ML. If the vehicle doesn't have the ML marking then it doesn't have the upgrade amps and speakers.
  13. The new(ish) testing method (WLTP) is much more real world. For example the IS300h went from 62/65mpg to 48.7 mpg on old and new testing methods. 49 mpg is easily achievable on the base grade IS300h so not sure another new method is needed.
  14. Did anyone here get it? Sold for the starting price, £2k. I didn't bother. Got the tape measure out, it wasn't going to fit in my daughter's Yaris 😉
  15. This is fully documented in the owners manual: You also need to reinitialise the sunroof and windows for auto to work correctly and you should set you tyre pressures to your desired pressures and then reset the TPWS so it is set from that pressure, not the pressures when the battery was connected.
  16. Toyota (including Lexus badged vehicles) have many more changes on a facelift compared to the yearly tweaks. It isn't a matrix, it is adaptive with shutters that are analogue and therefore more variable than a matrix system. It is fitted to UK face-lift F Sport, Premier and F models. This blog post lists most of the face-lift changes. https://blog.lexus.co.uk/the-new-2016-lexus-gs/
  17. Yes that is normal. Every time you let the battery get flat it will lose some capacity so will take less time to go flat the next time and so on. You possibly aren't using it enough - if the battery gets to half capacity you will need to drive it for a few hours to recharge it to full. I'd get a trickle charger if you can, if you can't get mains electricity near the vehicle then maybe a solar charger would help.
  18. Keeping it in D and applying a little braking would achieve the same thing provided the energy meter doesn't go off the regen scale. In fact in B, the fuel to the engine is cut so some energy is wasted overcoming the compression in the engine as it is turned over. The 400h has an older hybrid design. It cannot go that fast without the IC running otherwise the transmission would be damaged. Current gen systems allow running at 70 mph in EV - IC shut down.
  19. Never believe a salesman 🙂 Toyota have already registered trademarks for different powertrains, and they have also recently announced they will start to build the NX in Canada as well as Japan - they won't do that on an ageing design the will start to have dwindling sales. The plant will also make the RAV4, so will probably share the manufacturing line, with another line for the RX which is also made there.
  20. It covers you for all parts that aren't explicitly excluded. Lights are not excluded and therefore should be covered unless physically damaged. Bulbs, which are considered consumables, are not covered.
  21. if you don't have an auto button next to the mirror fold button then no you don't have that feature.
  22. no taper, wheels are hub-centric not lug-centric. You need a flat mating against the wheel surface. A taper at the very end is nice to help align the wheel holes like the OEM ones but not essential.
  23. It will be interesting to see if someone gets it for £2k. Can't be that many people looking for an F engine at any one point in time.
