  1. Congrats on the new car Henry and welcome to LOC 🙂
  2. If you are replacing then for sure you want to put in better fans - quieter design and better bearings. But the stock ones they use are very cheap, especially the price the OEM pays for them in bulk.
  3. There are different wheels on the RC F depending on year and the ones from the Carbon became optional on the standard grade on the MY17 vehicles.
  4. This has been discussed across the various different model forums here. It seems if you have RSA then you don't get speed limits showing on the nav system. I assume it is because RSA should be more accurate as it will detect temporary speed restrictions etc. but we all know the system is far from foolproof. Most people would prefer to have both, or at least the option for both, however Lexus don't give us that option and more annoyingly Toyota vehicles do, which essentially use the same system 😞
  5. double that and you would be around right, then add the price of a tyre!
  6. The whole thing is at your own risk but if you have partially affected your system with a failed update then don't expect Lexus to be fixing it for free under warranty.
  7. Thule was the OEM - nothing different from the ones they sell themselves other than Lexus logos on the side covers.
  8. Looks like they may have finally produce rear pads. EBC Brakes Direct show both Red and Yellow rears to be in stock. More expensive than the fronts which is odd but I guess they were specially made for the F cars whereas the front are used on the LS460 and other vehicles.
  9. worth having a read here to see if this helps: https://www.toyotaownersclub.com/forums/topic/195353-retro-fit-apple-carplay-android-auto/?do=findComment&comment=1544663
  10. They will not change on the GS F - the Technical Service Bulletin does not cover the GS in the UK 😞 I had this 'conversation' with Lexus. Replaced them with EBC on the front and PowerStop on the rear.
  11. Brembo callipers and rotors but the pads are a hybrid Brembo/Galfer affair.
  12. completely different engine and transmission is an update.
  13. RX is a more expensive vehicle so depreciation is going to be higher in actual monetary terms compared to the NX even if percentage wise it is the same. There are two main reasons for the higher depreciation on the RX - the series III is no longer the current generation, once a new model comes out the older one get affected. Secondly, it has higher running costs so it less desirable the older it gets.
  14. We won't know for sure until an official press release comes out but other reports suggest it won't be an IS F, it will be an IS 500. There is another thread about it here:
  15. I don't really find much difference in the IS300h responsiveness compared to a Lexus with an auto transmission, say a GS430 - the hybrid system seems to have been designed to provide a very similar, somewhat lazy, feel. Even my F will hesitate if I'm in normal mode and I push down the throttle, but not all the way and press the kick down button, whilst it tries to accelerate in the current high gear before it decides to drops down 3 or 4 cogs and take off. But to route66's point, things improve - the IS300h/RC300h/GS300h has a hybrid system that is 2 generations out of date (well at least 1.5 generations).
  16. I assume the desktop has a LAN port - you can move that machine and connect directly to the router with a cable? If it works ok then we can assume it is a wifi issue.
  17. This is the acceptable range for the series II RX - not actually sure what region as they all have different regulations but appears to be consistent with European guidelines. American speedos are typically closer to the actual speed. I think these are based on full tread depth tyres (i.e. new tyres) inflated to the correct pressure. Once tyres are worn to the legal limit you have up to 1 or 2 percent deviation.
  18. It's a weird specification. One of the first ones in the country where maybe Lexus didn't have their spec sheets correct, or hadn't confirmed what they were getting from the factory. In theory all SE-L should have air suspension. HUD should only be available on SE-L Premier (maybe could have been a special option). It isn't an SE-L Premier because it doesn't have the rear entertainment system but the Toyota build sheet implies it has the active stabiliser system on the suspension which definitely was only an SE-L Premier feature. Registered too late to be the an initial press car but where the spec is written and first customer/showroom vehicles have a different spec - probably the best spec you could wish for, air suspension may not be the best thing to have on 10 year old vehicles.
  19. No because a vehicle has to be under 10 years old to take out a Lexus extended warranty. You would have to consider an independent warranty. You can have a hybrid health check carried out by Lexus to give you a 12 month/10k mile warranty on the hybrid battery.
  20. I'm not sure there is a fault here. The RX400h can hope with 2 weeks of inactivity with a good and fully charged battery but not much more. It then needs 3+ hours in Ready mode to recharge it. If you are leaving it for 2 weeks, using for an hour and then leaving it for 2 weeks again, at the end of the 4th week you will probably have a flat battery and you certainly will after 6 weeks. Each time you flatten the battery it will lose its ability to hold some charge so the duration you can leave it before it goes flat will get shorter and shorter. You could get a deep-cycle battery to help, you could try and get a bigger battery so it lasts longer but at some point you will need to recharge it fully. Definitely worth making sure there isn't a fault - just get the parasitic load measured at the battery once the vehicle is locked and all systems have gone into standby (wait at least 20 minutes before measuring). If you are seeing over 60 mA then you potentially have a problem and individual circuits can be tested as shown in the video on Herbie's post. If there is no fault you don't have too many options here. You can either leave the vehicle in Ready mode for 30 mins every few days, use the vehicle more, or physically disconnect the -ve connection on the battery when you leave it - but that is almost as inconvenient as having to jump it when you need to use the vehicle in a hurry. As has been stated, the alarm doesn't use much energy so disconnecting it really won't make much of a difference. You could go some way by just not arming it (lock the vehicle with the mechanical key in the door lock rather than the button on the key fob) but it isn't going to really help.
  21. Shame. Are there no showroom stock available in the country that matches what you are looking for? Possibly not as the UX is selling quite well at the moment. 2WD has the advantage of a bigger boot, I think quite a lot being sold are that configuration. Seems covid has pushed deliveries back for vehicles built in Japan. C-HR, which is now available with the same 2 litre engine as the UX, is in a better situation as it is built in Europe.
  22. above is the current 2020 spec. May not have always been the case though.
  23. No, they all have this mode. As you say, anything other than gentle touches of the accelerator will make the system come out of EV mode and fire up the petrol engine to give the driver more power. Really I've only ever found it useful to stop you petrol engine firing up when cold if all you want to do is move your vehicle off the driveway or something similar rather than during a journey - just let the vehicle come in and out of EV mode automatically based on acceleration demand, load, battery level etc.
  24. All CT grades have a tilt alarm, not just the Takumi.
