  1. It covers all the labour and parts that are performed as part of the standard service. Anything found that needs additional attention (bulb, wiper blade, brake pads, suspension parts, tyres etc. etc.) are an additional cost, not just for the part but also the labour.
  2. Clean cloth covering the screen and pour white vinegar over it until saturated, leave for 20 mins, wipe and rinse off.
  3. I ordered from them in Feb 2018 so they aren't a recent start up.
  4. A service plan definitely would not cover this - that only covers standard routine maintenance as defined in the service schedule. The current Lexus extended warranty should cover this as it isn't listed within the exceptions:
  5. That's correct. It is only the MUST/MUST NOT points in the Highway Code that are law, should/should not or do/do not aren't.
  6. These liners are excellent - I've one from them for my GS, better IMO than the Lexus ones because of the non slip area/surface. There is another company of very similar name which I feel aren't as good. https://www.bootsliners.co.uk/LEXUS-BOOT-LINERS/
  7. Good luck with the sale. You asked if you could advertise here, I answered yes but you chose to ignore me?
  8. Well I'd probably go for the smallest Noco power pack, but which is still overkill. https://www.amazon.co.uk/NOCO-GB20-UltraSafe-Lithium-Gasoline/dp/B015TKPT1A/ref=sr_1_10?dchild=1&keywords=noco&qid=1601754179&sr=8-10 More expensive but from a company that has a reputation to uphold rather than an anonymous Chinese company which probably hasn't put any attempt into meeting any US or European safety regulations. The one specifically linked to supposedly rated to 2000 Amps, I cannot see those thin wires carrying that current - looks like those very thin poor quality jump leads you can get (still for a hybrid that doesn't really matter). It also has a safety hammer built-in - just what you want to encourage, smashing a large volatile lithium ion battery into things!!
  9. Yes it is available on certain spec series IV RXs (2016 onward) just not on the series III.
  10. Yes but all the automotive power packs are made to turn over an engine. If you can find one that is just for hybrids then it would be ideal. It won't be because you need an output within the 12.8 to 14.4 volts range and can supply that voltage at around 20 Amps.
  11. No, not unless the vehicle is due for a service and the non-Lexus dealer will perform it and therefore void the Lexus extended warranty and give up a full Lexus service history. Just make sure the warranty gets transferred correctly into your name.
  12. Unless you are applying your parking brake with the wheels still turning you aren't going to get any noticeable wear on the shoes.
  13. If you don't want a genuine part then RockAuto have many different alternatives for reasonable money, with rubber bushes. Even the genuine parts aren't too expensive, considering it is a part for a £50k vehicle. The issue with front control arms is the labour needed to replace them - certainly a Lexus dealer will quote you based on the manufacturer's workshop guide, which is engine out and therefore labour intensive. An independent hopefully will charge a lot less as they will only raise the engine and not remove it but it still isn't a 15 minute job.
  14. Back in the day where manufacturers didn't have the confidence their cars would make it to 100k miles (and certainly not 200k) so didn't put a sixth digit on the odometer. 🙂 I wonder how many times it has been around the clock, the poor MOT guy is trying to guess should there be a 0, 1 or 2 in front of that mileage reading.
  15. If we ever get back to some sort of normal and I start working in the office again we can hold a little Fleet meet 🙂
  16. Does the petrol engine shut down and run in EV only mode once up to temperature when cruising or stopping at a junction? If you are travelling at a constant 100 kmph on flat road what rpm is the engine running at - it should be less than 2000 rpm, if more then the system is charing the battery in addition to just propelling the vehicle which could indicate an issue. Normally high mpg is caused by an initialisation problem that stops the engine shutting down and therefore consuming more fuel but that is more associated with older hybrid systems (Prius II or RX400h for example). Check your 12v aux battery is good and holding charge. Also check things outside the hybrid system aren't causing a problem - e.g. are the brakes binding slightly which is causing excessive drag and poor economy. Having 70% battery capacity compared to say 90% isn't going to cause that much difference to economy in normal driving. Normally the vehicle tries to keep the battery around 50% charged and will only use around 25% either side of that.
  17. Supposedly the precious metal content is higher in the older cats so is therefore worth more money. It is a little more difficult to get at the cat on the series III but no enough to stop it being stolen if someone wanted to.
  18. Only the 10th anniversary edition has a matt finish. Standard mercury grey is a cleat coat gloss. FYI all the 'sonic' colours are five layers like Azure Blue.
