422 LCs sold up to the end of Sept 2020 according to Lexus GB's sales figures. Not sure on the split between V8 and hybrid, I think it is around 2:1.

If you think there could be coolant/ATF mixing then you want to be sure ASAP. Look at the coolant to see if there is an oil film on top. I assume this is a series III with the 6-speed transmission and no dipstick? If so then you may want to take off a transmission line from the radiator to look at the fluid - if it is red or brown then it is ok, if it is pink/cloudy then coolant has mixed and you shouldn't drive it. The vibration could be something else, for example an engine/transmission mount/prop shaft with play in it which should be easier to fix.

Paddle shifters Re gen braking power
ColinBarber replied to ALAW's topic in Lexus UX250h / UX300h / UX300e Club
B mode does increase the amount of regen braking when you come off the accelerator, so you feel more deceleration than normal but this isn't anything more than you could achieve yourself by lightly pressing the brake pedal. The main purpose of B mode is at higher speeds. To provide a braking effect the system engages the petrol engine so the wheels are effectively spinning the engine over creating a load, because the regen system cannot convert enough kinetic energy into electrical energy on its own (either because the generator isn't powerful enough or the hybrid batteries cannot take the current). The engine isn't providing any power, it is shut down with no fuel being injected or plugs sparking. This stops the mechanical brakes needing to be engaged, and potentially overheating, and is really only intended down a very long and steep hill where you would otherwise accelerate away. The fact that the mechanical engine is being made to spin, producing heat and noise, means it is less efficient than normal mode and why it shouldn't be used more than necessary. If the vehicle has a simulated gearbox then there is no need for a dedicated B mode as using a low gear achieves the same thing - so in the current range of Lexus vehicles only the CT200h has a B mode. -
Laws of physics would state the opposite, if you put more load on the engine it will slow it down - which is what you see when you put an auto into Drive with your foot on the brake because of the load the torque converter puts on the engine. When the AC comes on the engine ECU opens the throttle, either directly or via an idle-up valve, to not only compensate for the load which would otherwise reduce the rpm, but actually increases it so that the compressor operates at a speed sufficient to give good cooling. Early LS400 had a standard of idle speed of 650 +/- 50 and 750 +/- 50 with the AC on (and clutch engaged). The MKIV standard idle is 750 +/- 50 and 800 +/- 50 with the AC on (and clutch engaged)

Indicator stalk (switch) on RCs
ColinBarber replied to Linas.P's topic in Lexus RC Owners Club / RC 200t / RC 300h Club
Yeah that seems to have been it. They started fitting them and I guess customer feedback made them revert back as newer designs don't have them. Personally I much prefer them to the older mechanical style where you fight them much more indicating right at a roundabout but initially turning left as they either cancel or you hold it in place and it feels like it is going to break the mechanism. I don't feel I have to concentrate to use them, only took a couple of drives to get use to the amount of force needed. -

GS series IV has them. -
Unless you have a passenger 😉 Park for the transmission.

No it isn't forbidden. You cannot operate a mobile phone without it being in a cradle but it is not against the law to operate systems of the vehicle, or a phone in a cradle, whilst driving if it is safe to do so. If you were to cause an accident whilst operating the sat nav/phone/heated seats/radio etc. then you could be prosecuted for careless driving or dangerous driving.

GSF noise from rear at idle
ColinBarber replied to F.A.'s topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
Even if there isn't a TSB it should still be fixed under warranty as it isn't normal. I think someone posted recently that their pump was replaced under warranty. -
Into the F Fold....

Correct, the 10" comes with all MY2018 vehicles onwards, irrespective of ML. RC F v3.pdf -
looking at IS300 today, help appreciated
ColinBarber replied to Iceboy's topic in Lexus IS200 / Lexus IS300 Club
I didn't think the Altezza came in 3.0 saloon form, only the Gita/SportCross (estate). Double check what engine it has - AS200 is the same as the IS200 in the UK, RS200 has the more powerful 4 cylinder 2.0 engine, and the AS300 Gita is the IS300 SportCross with the straight 6 2JZ-GE engine (auto only). In terms of specification, there are more options available in Japan so it would be difficult to say what it has fitted without seeing it. -
Good the see the wheel alignment was checked. Both Guildford and Reading just look at the wear on the tyres and consider that good enough

Buying a used RC F
ColinBarber replied to XK140's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
The plus pack adds all those features back in again so that is the one to go for. Not much you can do about the GPF, that will be fitted to all new petrol engines to allow them to meet the latest emissions 😞 -
Buying a used RC F
ColinBarber replied to XK140's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
Those 2 would be MY2017 models registered late. There were also 4 MY2018 standard vehicles registered and a further 4 MY2018 vehicles registered with the plus pack option. They appear as LSS models on how many left. Facelift MY2018 have improvements but some of the spec is lowered to get to a cheaper list price (cheaper wheels, lack of key card, no ventilated seats, no blind spot mirror or rear traffic alert etc.) and the engine has a particulate filter which robs the engine of 14 bhp at peak and more across the rev range 😞 -
You could import it and provided you didn't put it on the road then you wouldn't have to register/tax/insure it - anybody who purchased it would have to do all that before they could use it on the road. I'd question why you would want to do that though, it must be worth more in Europe as a left hand drive vehicle than it is in the UK. It is an unknown model in this country and therefore not very desirable and most people won't purchase a LHD in this country.
-
Yes I believe that is the correct part code. I don't think you have much choice other than to import from the US - it was a Lexus US aftermarket option, not directly available in the UK.

Nice 🙂 Regarding the leather, I'd try some cleaner and conditioner to see how well it brings it up - something like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dodo-Juice-Supernatural-Conditioner-Complete/dp/B00DXLI14U/ref=bmx_5/259-9495038-1115123?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00DXLI14U&pd_rd_r=131e13f1-4479-4b8d-ac54-5a412416f749&pd_rd_w=7Xaqw&pd_rd_wg=gsnUE&pf_rd_p=26d9b5cc-9c88-4655-88a4-db5806d5daad&pf_rd_r=RJGJBP5HW78P5M59K8E2&psc=1&refRID=RJGJBP5HW78P5M59K8E2 but it looks like some of the colouring has been worn away so it will never come back like new. You may have to take it to a specialist who can fill any hole and respray just that area but colour match it correctly.

Displaying/reading text messages is hit or miss on my GS. I can work for weeks and then suddenly stops working for a month or two and then starts working again with no intervention on my part. It is definitely better with my wife's Prius but it too has been intermittent with the functionality working. The moving to CarPlay / Android auto seems to have been customer demand as Toyota were/are very reluctant to make the move but hopefully they see the benefit in having features that actual work.

I once has a windscreen that wasn't properly bonded in the bottom corner of my GS430 - dealer changed the door seal even though I told them it was coming from the screen. You could press the glass whilst moving and hear an increase in wind noise. All covered under warranty, it was right at the end of the manufacturer's warranty but would have been covered by extended warranty as there wasn't any physical damage to the seal/windscreen. If you want to try and determine where the problem is I would seal the door/body gaps with electrical insulation tape, climb through from the passenger door and take it for a drive to see if it fixes the issue (or get someone else to tape it up after you get in). If it is one of the seals then try some Gummi Pflege on them - that will soften them up and maybe allow it to seal again and will also allow you to open the door in frozen weather.

It isn't an Android thing, I have the same inconsistent experience with Lexus and iPhone - I think there is something in common here.
