  1. You set it to your desired pressure. No issue deviating away from the recommendation if you load your vehicle, travel at high speed, change your wheel/tyre size from standard etc.
  2. I'm not sure it is that type of design on the series III RX450h.
  3. The higher bolster of a sports seat means they come into contact with and get squashed by the driver/passenger more, which leads to stretching/creasing. Do a search and you will find complaints across all vehicle manufacturer forums. How bad it becomes is somewhat down of how the driver gets in/out, their weight, the position of the seat etc.
  4. Yes, it is the same thing - just a different name for a different market. Similar to how the paint colour names are different in the US compared to the UK.
  5. It would be a very crude performance device if it is - just modifying air temp sensor reading for example, or boost pressure. More likely to be a simulator/defeat box, allowing emission device removal without triggering a warning light. As Linas has said, tracing the wires will be required to understand what it might be.
  6. All Luxury grade vehicles have leather. Once you move to the facelift model and the new grade nomenclature then the base grade 'RC' only has Tahara (let's leave the NuLuxe naming for the US forums) unless you get the leather upgrade option. As you, I'm not aware of any grades that combine both leather and Tahara in the same seat.

  8. Idle Speed Control. It is one possibility why the economy is bad and hardly using battery power. From the Lexus technical service bulletin on the subject: It is important to perform the ISC Learning procedure anytime the 12–volt battery is disconnected or the voltage falls below 7 volts. This procedure allows the I.C. (internal combustion) Engine to re–learn its optimal idle speed during the initial engine warm–up cycle or charging the HV battery. If this procedure is NOT performed, the following customer complaints may occur: Engine runs too long or more frequently than normal Reduced fuel economy Transmission gear “clatter” noise at idle is more pronounced
  9. US vehicles conform to a different standard (not that 6 psi is correct in the US anyway). For a UK vehicle, conforming to ECE-R64 Legal Regulations, it should warn at 20% below the set pressure or a rapid drop (within a few minutes) greater than 2.9 psi. Unfortunately the CT only has a single receiver so it cannot position each of the TPMS valves. Other models, such as GS and RX, have two that allow it to determine the wheel position so you get pressure reading for each wheel - e.g.

  12. Seems to have lost its capacity under load. Quite common once a battery has been deeply discharged. I certainly wouldn’t want to rely on it. Best to take it to your local metal exchange and get a few quid for its scrap value.
  13. Yes the press release clearly states the UX is affected, that isn't in question, but it also clearly states that plates are only available for the RX. My point is that you would be wasting your time by going to a Lexus dealer and asking for plates to be fitted if you own a UX. Once the solution being developed by Toyota UK is ready then all affected Toyota and Lexus owners need to contact their dealer to get the solution applied to their vehicle. Currently there is no point asking your dealer as they aren't able to assist - your time would be better spend contacting Toyota UK / Lexus GB or the press to apply pressure in getting a resolution to this issue.
  14. Glad the car has been found 🙂 What type of immobiliser are you thinking of? Anything with a fob would have been in her bag with the keys, and not sure something like a Ghost immobiliser would work on something as old as an RX400h. I didn't think the 400h had a smart entry system, so there is no benefit putting the keys into a faraday pouch.
  15. The press release specifically states plates are available for only the RX. There will be additional security measures for all affected models however this is not available yet, and there is no indication when it will be after Lexus removed their initial target date.
  16. You can disable the keyless entry system yourself via the car's menu system - this will stop the possibility of a relay attack but won't stop a CAN bus attack. Unfortunately the RX is the only model where plates are available from Lexus dealers.
  17. The LBX doesn’t have hub motors. It appears your vehicle is not AWD.
  18. As the battery capacity is so small, it is easy for it to be deep cycled if you aren’t using it frequently - a standard flooded battery wouldn’t handle that too well. There is also the risk of acid spill in an accident with a flooded battery as it is in the cabin (not that Lexus are worried about that in all their new vehicles though).
  19. Possible for a previous owner to get smaller wheels to improve comfort and to lose the key card but some of the other spec doesn't add up. However, it wouldn't be the first time a weird spec vehicle has turned up. They typically end up as a Toyota employee or dealer courtesy car rather than a customer order because it doesn't meet spec. I'd double check the VIN plate, VIN stamping in the windscreen and by the drivers seat all match and look untouched - just to rule out it hasn't taken the identity of another vehicle, or it is a Japanese import.
  20. @Tel are you able to post a picture of one of your rear wheels as Partridge did above? It's not the independent suspension that's in question, it is the lack of drive shaft that suggests it isn't an AWD model.
  21. Possible, but there are current sensors on the individual phases which should throw up a different error to P0a78 if that were the case.
  22. There were reports of door handles being replaced on the early cars - not heard of any issues recently.
  23. There should be sub-code(s) for P0A78 to help narrow down the problem further but it is generically inverter/motor related - possibly HV cables. I'd check all the HV cable connections are clean and tight on the motor, inverter and battery (with the usual HV warning - please don't attempt this if you aren't comfortable working with HV DC or don't know how to isolate the battery/discharge the inverter).
