It's very difficult to know what the average is though over a period of time with the bar chart. I always use the After Start measurement for one of the display options - you can then just flick to it if you are interested after a particular journey. Then always subtract 1 or 2 mpg as the fuel computer is alway optimistic.

4 OTHER VEHICLE ASSISTANCE SERVICE (UK SERVICE) 4.1 If any Other Vehicle suffers a Breakdown at Your Home then, on request, We will send a mechanic to Your Home as soon as possible at no cost to You or Your Partner in order to determine and, if possible, repair the fault so as to enable the Other Vehicle to be safely driven again. You or Your Partner will not have to pay for Our Service Contractor’s mechanic’s labour costs but will have to pay for any replacement parts or consumable items that he has to fit or add to the Other Vehicle to make drivable again. 4.2 If any Other Vehicle suffers a Breakdown on a Road away from Your Home in the United Kingdom then, on request, We will send a mechanic to the scene of the Breakdown as soon as possible at no cost to You or Your Partner in order to determine and, if possible, repair the fault so as to enable the Other Vehicle to be safely driven again. You or Your Partner will not have to pay for Our Service Contractor’s mechanic’s labour costs but You will have to pay for any replacement parts or consumable items that he has to fit or add to the Other Vehicle in order to make it drivable again. 4.3 If the mechanic We send to the scene of the Breakdown is unable to repair the Other Vehicle there in a reasonable time so as to enable it to be safely driven again, then, on request, We will arrange for the Other Vehicle to be transported from the scene of the Breakdown to a local repairer. Alternatively We will arrange for the Other Vehicle to be transported from the scene of the Breakdown to a single destination in the United Kingdom of Your choice or (in Your absence) that of Your Partner at no cost to You or Your Partner. The Registered Keeper or the driver of the Other Vehicle will then be responsible for arranging for the Other Vehicle to be repaired at their own cost including any further transportation costs. 4.4 If we transport the Other Vehicle in accordance with Clause 4.3 We will take up to 8 people to the same destination at no cost to You or Your Partner provided that (i) each person was travelling with You at the time of the breakdown; and (ii) each person behaves properly during transit. We may use more than one vehicle for this purpose. Any person under the age of 16 whom we transport must be accompanied by an adult. 4.5 If We transport Your Car in accordance with Clause 4.3 We are not under any obligation to transport or to arrange the transport of any animal. Our Service Contractor may however do so at their discretion save that no onward transport will be provided for horses, livestock or dangerous animals. If provided, such transport will be at Your risk or that of the Authorised Driver. Further, You or the Authorised Driver will be responsible for safely securing such animal during transit. We will not be responsible for insuring any animal during transit and may terminate the transport of an animal if it represents a safety risk. -
What model do you have - your profile states an 2010 RX350 - that doesn't exist in the UK. Do you want the actual radiator cap or the expansion bottle cap? Both are available as spares from your dealer.

Rockauto have aftermarket compressors for £150 + shipping + taxes + VAT. You would need to be double checked that the compressor on the RX330 is the same as the RX300. Otherwise you could get one from a scrapped RX300 in the UK but obviously you don't know how long that one may last given that it is going to be 15 years old.

GSF oil temp
ColinBarber replied to hockeyedwards's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
I think it is just the cold weather. Took mine out at the weekend, only did around 12 miles but the oil temp ended up around the same place whereas it would normally be just under the half way mark in the summer. The oil cooling system has a thermostat to allow quicker warm up but seems to open up and use the external cooler way before getting near half way on the gauge. -
12v Battery replacement
ColinBarber replied to Bluethunder's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Not normal, but not sure what it may be. If the battery is completely flat then you are probably better off to disconnect it from the vehicle and charge it. With it left in place the voltage will rise to a point where the vehicle electronics come alive at different times and may intermittently switch off/on until the charge is high enough to sustain the electronics fully on. I'd charge it fully, then run a recondition cycle and once that is done connect it back to the vehicle. -
Nx300h F-Sport or Premier?????
ColinBarber replied to Rew1's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Mainly FWD. There is a second electric motor which drives the rear wheels either under hard acceleration or if the front wheels haven't got traction. Total system power output is around 195 bhp but you will see some people just quote the petrol engine output which is 153 bhp. -
GSF Battery problem or CTEK issue?
ColinBarber replied to F.A.'s topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
Normal. AGM are normally only fitted to vehicles with start/stop, hybrid, or batteries in the cabin/boot. They tend to state AGM on them but it is not always visible when installed in the vehicle. -
Absolutely Delighted with New IS 300h
ColinBarber replied to Bounce75's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
If you have Carista (or something similar that isn't a rip off price) you can set it yourself. https://caristaapp.com -
Cold weather and short journeys definitely aren't going to help your mpg. I set one of my display options to show mpg after start so you can see the mpg per journey - that will quickly show you how uneconomically those short journeys can be. The hybrid system on the IS is quite slow to shut down the petrol engine once it has started. If I did a short journey to the station and back, only around 3 miles round trip, I'd struggle to get more than 30 mpg, even when it wasn't winter. My wife's Prius, with the next gen hybrid system, would shut down much sooner and you could get 45 to 55 mpg on the same journey. On longer runs, typically 15 miles, my IS300h used to average around 48 mpg - that was an F Sport with a mix urban/dual carriage way/motorway. The Premier should be similar, if slightly better due to better aerodynamics, but it is normally the vehicle on 17" wheel that consistently get over 50 mpg.

As stated, it wasn't an issue other than faulty batteries that couldn't hold a charge. If you suspect you have a problem then get an auto electrician to measure the parasitic load of the vehicle after it has been locked for 20 mins. You shouldn't see more the 50 mA being consumed. If it is more then the circuits will have to be diagnosed to determine what component is consuming power. Make sure you battery is clean and dirt free.

What version is my NX300h?
ColinBarber replied to Rew1's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
Answered your own question there haven't you? It's an F-Sport with a Pano option. All F-Sports are AWD, only the base level NX 300h S was FWD. -
The AC system on the 400h is much more efficient. It is electrically operated via a motor, rather than mechanically driven by the engine, and the motor speed is electronically controlled so it only runs at a speed needed, not any faster. I'd recommend using it during winter. It drys the air so you get less condensation and reduces any risk of mould etc. You can also use the recycle function without the inside becoming like a rain forest so you can keep diesel fumes out if you get stuck behind one. If you don't want to use it then you should run it for 5 or 10 minutes every few weeks just to keep everything within the system lubricated correctly.

RX400h 2009 exists?
ColinBarber replied to nooblex's topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
Yes, your vehicle is essentially a 2008. -
GSF Battery problem or CTEK issue?
ColinBarber replied to F.A.'s topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
12.4v is around 75% charged. That isn't a state you really want to leave a lead-acid battery in as it will start to degrade. Either charge it up fully once every week or two or permanently connect it to an intelligence charger (e.g. CTEK or Noco). I've had mine permanently connected to one of these for the last 10 months. https://www.halfords.com/motoring/battery-maintenance/battery-chargers/noco-genius1-1-amp-battery-charger-230262.html I've a higher powered one for charging batteries, but this is fine to slowly charge up a battery and then leave it maintaining a float voltage to stop discharge. -
RX400h 2009 exists?
ColinBarber replied to nooblex's topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
No parts are different between a 2008 and 2009 RX400h. That specific part is weirdly labelled. It states it is for a 450h in the title but only shows 400h in the compatibility chart. -
GSF Battery problem or CTEK issue?
ColinBarber replied to F.A.'s topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
Is the connector free from dirt, corrosion and moisture? Is the battery at 12.6v after a week of not being used? If so that seems fine but a little low if it has been charged up as it should be above 12.7v. -
No, there is no benefit it doing that. You would be better off charging your battery on a smart charger for several hours every few weeks to get it to 100% charge, something the vehicle is unlikely to do by just running it on a long journey once a week - the final 10% charge is done slowly so it is unlikely you will ever achieve it that way.

The standard battery for the 400h is rated as 38 Ah for 5HR. The Prius III is 36 Ah and the Prius IV is 30 Ah (but 45 @ 20HR). The RX450h series III is 43 Ah for 5HR - which may be around 51 Ah for 20HR. The RX450h series IV is 60 Ah for 20HR. Seems Toyota are starting to use 20HR rating on newer models, which makes sense, especially for a hybrid that doesn't/shouldn't need a fast discharge rate for the aux battery. The problem is that capacities are often quoted at different discharge rates and therefore difficult to compare. Typically the capacity is directly linked to the size of the battery, so will always be similar if you get one of the same dimensions. The 400h doesn't have smart lock/unlock so there isn't as much battery drain compared to the 450h.
