  1. They also do Redstuff for the RC F/GS F. Whilst they shouldn't list Greenstuff for the RC F the sellers sometimes do - they make them for the LS460 with Brembo brakes which are the same size. If these are Greenstuff, I'd replace them as they aren't really suitable for the performance of the vehicle. Move to Redstuff if you don't want any squealing.
  2. The 80 runs higher pressure. Not sure if that is just due to the extra fluid and cooling system or allows the faster changes. The 80 seems to have a larger fluid pump. The 80 also has a fluid recovery system built into the atmospheric vent - higher G forces expected on vehicles with the 80 means it is more likely fluid is pushed up against the vent and could escape so it is recirculated back. The 81 doesn't have this. The forward gear ratios are the same, but the 80 has a much lower reverse ratio. Final drive ratio is at the differential and would be different on the specific vehicle rather than a difference at the transmission. There seem to be more differences between variants of 81 than between an 81 for an IS350 and 80 for an RC F. The 81 for the 200t has different pressures, different design of torque converter with a different stall speed, different valve body design when compared to an 81 for the 350.

Ultra Blue is a colour in the UK - IS-F, late series II IS and series III IS F Sport etc. - called ultrasonic blue mica in the US - paint code 8U1 Azure Blue in the UK - RC F and GS F colour - called Sapphire Blue Pearl or Ultrasonic Blue Mica 2.0 - paint code 8X1. The Azure blue is what Lexus GB call a sonic colour, a 5 stage paint. Ultra Blue has a hint of purple in it.

  5. Not enough detail to know but seems money is being saved over an F, e.g. the brakes are smaller/cheaper, the wheels cheaper as well. Language used in the press release also hint at cost savings such as the exhaust sound has been inspired by the F vehicles, not just directly used the F system. The transmission seems to be the AA81E from the IS350 rather than the AA80E from the F (which have higher fluid capacity so I'm assuming more cooling capacity). No mention that the shocks are made by Sachs etc.
  6. Not sure what's wrong with your driving technique or your engine if you aren't able to modulate your boost/acceleration. It doesn't behave like an on/off switch. You seem to suggest all Turbo engines must be bad because your vehicle is. You get good and bad turbo engine, the same as you get good and bad NA engines. I never had any major drivability issues with either my MR2 Turbo or my Supra Twin Turbo. Like any vehicle you needed to understand where the power is and when to change gear - no different from any of my NA vehicles, just different. Pick up is normally always better with a Turbo - as Flytvr stated, get caught in the wrong gear in a Lexus V8 and you will get smoked.

  8. 43 mpg is a bit low considering you have had the car for a year and should have adapted your driving to suit a hybrid. But it does depend on your driving style, type of journeys and the weather/temperature. What were you getting during the summer? The old non WLTP testing just doesn't provide realistic mpg figures for hybrid vehicles. Nothing Toyota can do about that, they were legally obligated to publish those figures if the wanted to sell the vehicle in Europe.
  9. Agreed, more likely is moisture with the recent weather, which could also explain the intermittent nature that some people are experiencing. But why this year rather than previous ones - weather hasn't been that bad. If it is age, I don't recall this being reported before with the oldest 2009 models. Possibly a combination of the weather and cars not being driven so moisture builds up.
  10. If the ECU were in the tailgate itself I'd agree that a dodgy ground/wiring could be the cause. But it is in the roof, with fixed wiring so not sure how multiple people can all suddenly get poor wiring, and Vadim's pictures don't suggest water ingress at the motor/ECU is the cause. Given that error U0230 is produced then it can really only be one of two things: ECU isn't powered up - three fuses need to be checked: 30A PBD 10A ECU-B No.1 10A ECU-IG1 No.1 If the fuses are ok, then voltage at the ECU needs to be checked. Possibly the ECU has developed a fault through the battery failing, or incorrect battery charging. Those who have a fault - did you charge up your old battery? What charger and mode did you use? Secondly the CAN MS communication bus has a problem - if it were on the main branch then you would have issues with mirrors and steering wheel tilt etc. so it is possibly just on the branch going to the power door ECU - that would need to be resistance checked to make sure you see 60 ohm to indicate both 120 ohm terminators are connected. If water is in the connection where it branches, a different resistance should be seen.
  11. Not a concern on a 400h. There is no mechanical connection to the rear wheels, they are purely driven by an independent electric motor.
  12. I can understand you lost faith in the car but not sure how that is down to Lexus - hardly the manufacturer's fault if an accident had caused the issue.
  13. With the new WLTP rating system the manufacture's figure is 44.8 to 48.7 mpg, depending on grade and options. For a non F-Sport, 50 mpg during non-winter months should be possible.
  14. What GS do you have? Series II with an inline 6 engine, or a series III with a V6? I wouldn't jump to conclusions about it being a crank sensor. Could well be an ignition or fuel injector issue.
  15. 588 IS300h were sold in 2020, only around 120 of those were F-Sport. They are advertising because I guess there is still some showroom stock. 5 IS300h have been sold in 2021 to date.
  16. Why skew facts to make your argument? We all know the IS300h isn't a performance car, and if you believe any manufacture's marketing department you are in for a sad awakening. However the IS300h has a 0-62 time of 8.3 seconds at launch and 8.4 seconds later, due to more emission restrictions. To compare against European manufacturers that quote 0-60 times you need to take off around 0.3 seconds to account for the 0.2 second difference so the IS300h is around 8.1 seconds 0-60. The list price of the IS300h at launch was £29.5k, the last UK price list has the base model at £33.3k on the road, no where near £37k.

  18. There is probably a fuse inside the unit that has blown. Pioneer electronics are normally pretty good so doubt it would have been damaged any further.
  19. Is it only after you haven't used the vehicle for several days? It slows down to save battery after 5 days. Otherwise make sure the inside of the door handle is clean, and check/replace the battery in your key fob and check/replace your 12v battery in the vehicle.
  20. That is what it does. You set the desired temperature and the system will control seat heaters/coolers and steering wheel heater based on the actual cabin temperature as well as just the standard climate control system which a normal system will do. Nothing to do with locking control settings for valet parking.
