  1. Possibly it is a different OEM, or just a different local refinery of the same OEM, either way it should be to the same Toyota standard. Toyota heavily use Exxon Mobil, certainly in the US market, but the oil would be different to a bottle of Mobil 1 - different additives would be used.
  2. Yes, there is a big difference between EV drive mode and the vehicle just being in EV mode.
  3. The paid for extended warranty covered more items though - e.g. shocks (although they wouldn't replace at a misting stage, only if it got to the point of being an MOT failure).
  4. The engine in the CT had a revision in 2014/15 to stop carbon build up on the piston rings which could ultimately lead to oil consumption and engine damage. I'd therefore state for your vehicle that the standard 10k/12 month service interval is fine, provided you use quality oil, but no harm in changing more frequently (other than environmental). Toyota/Lexus use the same oil in the US, it is just that the market there expects more frequent oil changes (or more precisely, there isn't the same pressure to extend the services intervals as there is in Europe).
  5. It’s appalling that the dealer didn’t fit protection plates that are available for the RX to prevent this. I’d consider legal proceedings to recover any losses you have incurred.
  6. All grades come with Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (aka Adaptive cruise control). Speed can be linked to speed sign recognition and also has Curve Speed Reduction to slow you down for bends.
  7. The facelift ditched the base audio - they all get premium 10 speaker Pioneer audio system with track pad and premium nav. Or the upgraded 17 speaker ML system with the Takumi grade/pack.
  8. Fine to use the scissor jack to lift one wheel off the ground to remove. As you say, they supply a jack and the procedure is in the manual. If you have a suitable trolley jack then you can use the centre points to lift two wheels.

Commonly the micro switches fail which are a cheap fix if you can repair yourself but other issues can occur and can be expensive to fix. Personally I'd stay away, certainly as you have been warned!   12. You were widely misinformed. It’s possible that worldwide sales of the LS are now near 1 million - in 2012 the figure was at 730,000 but the LS doesn’t sell anywhere near what it once did.
  13. It uses AWD for stability, performance and economy. The fact that it is using both motors rather than the engine means it is more efficient. I'd recommend you ask your dealer to take out another 450h+ for a quick test drive so you can understand if it is a problem with just your vehicle. Certainly no one else has posted a similar experience to yourself on these forums.
  14. It will be fine. The rear motor is more powerful than your current RX so it has better distribution of power if needed. It would be worth test driving the 500h, it will drive differently to what you a use to given that is has an auto transmission rather than a CVT.
  15. Some dealers have been targeted, but most have bollards in place at night to stop vehicles being stolen. Even so, those vehicles are owned by the franchisee not Toyota GB so I'm not sure it would have much immediate impact.
  16. Yeah, just standard servicing. The turbo isn't a sealed unit like some superchargers - it gets oil from the engine which is changed normally at each service.
  17. If there is a leak then the fault codes are fully understandable and expected. If the system cannot get to the desired pressure within a set time (because there is a leak) then it will produce an error and the fluid level will drop. Fix the leak, clear the errors and everything should be good.
  18. That’s about 23.5 mpg. The IS200 isn’t great for economy but that is a little low, especially if you have a manual transmission? I would expect 27 mpg for mixed city and highway driving.

  20. Lexus UK removed the April 2024 date from their press release. They still don't have the solution communicated to their dealers so whilst you can speak to your dealer they won't be able to assist you.   21. I'm confusing myself now. The facelift was 2018/10. The 2017 upgrade was LSS+ and a few other things, along with changes to the CAN buses. Until the facelift I'm not sure all models are affected (i.e. the ones with single projector headlights may not be).
  22. I'm not sure the 2017/03 date is correct. The facelift was from 2017/11 at the factory. There doesn't appear to be any spec change in 2017/03, the previous update was 2016/08.
  23. So yes, the GS has a saddleback design. It has two sender units, one in each subtank - I've never really understood how it works out the level correctly across the two. With the series II GS it also tried to be clever and based the fuel level on usage so it could get out of calibration, especially if you don't to large fill ups - the series III GS might do the same. Worth disconnecting the battery to reset everything before starting to investigate if the sender units are operating correctly.
  24. Unfortunately as Toyota/Lexus don't paint the wheels themselves they don't have a Toyota paint code and they don't share the OEM details. Whoever does the refurb work will have to match against the existing paint. If you are going to do it yourself with rattle cans then you will just need to pick something in the ball park and do the complete wheel, well actually both wheels on one side as a minimum so the mismatch isn't obvious.
