  1. Fundamentally they are all the same. You get differences with the equipment fitted as standard and available as options between regions, and changes due to regulations (emissions, lighting, security, safety etc.). But 90%+ of the vehicle, including the hybrid system, is the same.
  2. No it doesn't, no mention of ventilated seats at all. That is part of vehicle design which all grades get/don't get, the RC being based on the IS is an older design that never had it - it isn't something they would just add during the lifetime of a vehicle. Again based on the design of the vehicle. The IS didn't have an interior designed to accommodate a charging pad and was probably designed before wireless charging was a mainstream feature of phones, the same reason a much more expensive GS didn't have one in 2016 or in 2019. I'm sure they do prioritise the NX over the RC and offer more choice given it outsells it 10:1. That isn't related to the price/spec of the vehicles though - both vehicles are spec'd to hit a price point in their market. The RC has more standard equipment for the same price such as ventilated seats, memory seats probably because the base NX is a more expensive vehicle to manufacture due to 4WD hybrid system, being a bigger vehicle, electric parking brake etc. RC brochure Jan 2016.pdf
  3. It was around £ 1.18 to £ 1.30 the whole year.
  4. Work in progress at the moment I'm afraid. Lexus RX Series IV.pdf
  5. No. Frozen for the 11th year running. Prices going up is just down to oil prices being back at 2019 levels.
  6. Well you could stick on what you wanted but it would be like sticking an NX badge to an IS - it is pretty clear from the vehicle design that it isn't an NX.
  7. The NX didn't have cooled seats. It didn't have BSM, RCTA etc, only on the Premier. It didn't have memory seats. It didn't have dimming side mirrors. In three months after your price list the NX has a £500 price increase to make it the same as the RC. LexusNX300h2017.pdf Lexus price list 2016 01.pdf
  8. No the Morris 1100/1300 was a completely different car to the Morris Marina 1300.
  9. There are differences in spec, some more favourable to the RC and others to the NX. In 2016 for example the RC300h and NX300h F-Sports were identically priced at £ 37.5k. The NX had a power boot and wireless charging pad, but the RC had ventilated seats, memory settings for seat/mirrors, dimming side mirrors and 19" wheels. I'd say the the RC was better spec'd, partly because the cost to manufacture the NX is higher due to more materials needed (steel and paint etc), an extra electric motor and rear differential so they couldn't put in as much tech to get to the same price. Compared to the IS though the RC was poor value at £5k more expensive. That seems to be the way for coupes. Either the cost for R&D and tooling is amortised over less vehicle sales and so a greater value added per vehicle, or the people that want a coupe are willing to pay extra - probably a bit of both.
  10. They are certainly one of the OEMs that Lexus use.
  11. That car is probably doing 10 mph to get into that shape, it is the camera that is going faster 😉
  12. Sorry, those weren't meant to be hyperlinks - I've edited. The part codes were just for Herbs so he can see the boards we are talking about. Yes the light clusters come without the LED circuit board - you are meant to transfer from your old one.
  13. I assume you mean part 84306-48030. That is correct for all series II RX300s from 2003 onwards. Not sure about 48020 without the full part code, but if you mean 84306-48020, that isn't found on any European Lexus vehicle. The Lexus website was probably lexuspartsdirect.co.uk? This isn't Lexus GB but is Lexus Swindon. They are probably the cheapest supplier of genuine Lexus parts in the UK. If you supply your vehicle reg or VIN they would be able to confirm it is the correct part. The part is also used in the series II Prius in the UK, so you could try a Toyota dealer - some people have found parts are cheaper from Toyota compared to Lexus even for the same part. The part is used across many different vehicles - there are third party parts available from China on ebay for under £15. Certainly cheaper than £250 from a dealer.
  14. Yes and no 😉. The NX has always had an 8-speaker audio system (2 tweeters in the rear doors in addition to the 6 found in the IS). Originally it was a Fujitsu-Ten head unit. With the facelift it is now a Pioneer head unit but still without an external amp and no sub, so yes comparable to the IS/RC 6-speaker system.
  15. If you require new light clusters for UK vehicles I'd strongly recommend you stay away from non-European clusters or at least do research. Regulation regarding indicators, brake lights, fog lights and distances between them are different in different regions. Vehicles in Japan for example don't tend to have fog lights and have dual brake lights on each side - the clusters are therefore not plug and play.
  16. All UK series II RXs have LED rear brake lights - if nothing more than a safety feature. The circuit board is a circular designed PCB with the LEDs directly mounted to it. If you google 81553-48060 or 81563-48060 you will find pictures of them.
  17. At an individual owner level of an imported vehicle, Toyota GB have sanctioned that dealers should help where they can. But I think because the HHC is tied to a warranty, that is the issue.
  18. It does depend on what year we are talking about but for MY2020 all RCs have the electrically operated boot, and the standard grade NX only gets it with the option pack. The RCs all have Sat Nav, the base NX does not. The RCs all have Smart entry, the base NX does not. You need to add the premium pack to get those which puts it basically at the same price as the base grade RC, and the RC still has a better audio system and power adjustable steering column. I think it is fair to say each model's specification is tailored to the market segment in which it is competing, rather than being directly comparable to other Lexus vehicles in the range.
  19. I'd recommend Lexus, not the dealer, confirm the warranty would be valid. Wouldn't be the first time a dealer has assuming something and it turns out not to be the case.
  20. Not sure who picks up the tab for any warranty claims for the HHC, be that Lexus GB, Europe or TMC in Japan but it isn't the dealer and so their hands are tied. At a corporate level Toyota do not support grey imports and so don't give warranties for out of region vehicles. Whether the dealer can actually run the HHC I'm not sure either - they have automated the system with regards to carrying out the tests and registering the warranty. It all starts off by entering the VIN - that may not allow the mechanic to proceed if a European VIN isn't entered. The mechanic could probably run through the various tests individually within Techstream though that may take slightly more time and therefore a higher cost and without the warranty, possibly isn't of much value.
  21. You don't need to fully remove the centre console to remove the Sat Nav and heat unit but it is possible someone thought you might and therefore the ducting could have not been put back correctly - there are two pieces, one main piece that connects directly to the blower/heating system unit and then a piece that connects to it that goes around the gear level to the rear vents.
  22. Lexus Parts Direct is Lexus Swindon, they are typically the cheapest amongst Lexus dealers. If you wanted something third party then look at somewhere like autodoc.co.uk where you will be able to get two KYB shocks cheaper than a single Lexus one - and I'd recommend getting both sides as the characteristics will be slightly different between OEM and third party - and even just replacing OEM with OEM at that age will produce a difference to recommend getting both sides.
  23. I think you know the reason why Linas. Tailgates are more likely to be powered compared to a saloon/coupe boot. They are both heavier and you need to reach higher to close which can make then difficult to operate for people of a small frame. You also have the ability, on a Lexus at least, to set the maximum opening height so it doesn't hit a low ceiling such as in a garage - something not possibly on a manually operated one. I'm not sure anyone has struggled to open/close the boot on their RC. I have one on my GS - it boarders on being embarrassing when using it, I'm not so lazy that I can't just press it down myself.
