For the circuit to go high, the sensor has been disconnected, the sensor has failed open circuit, the wiring is damaged/shorted or there is a problem with the ECU. It is worth measuring the resistance of the sensor across the two terminals at the pump to make sure you don't have 0 or infinity ohms. Given that you had two, somewhat unrelated, errors I'd check the connections on the main ECU - maybe reseat those/check for corrosion on the pins.

Put key in ignition, turn to on and leave for 6 minutes - the immobiliser and key should synchronise and the immobiliser/security light should go out.

Yes the RX has grown with each generation and now the NX fits in back at the start of the RX's journey. The NX build quality is very nice, it isn't at the current RX level and you may find one or two areas where you feel it may be less than your existing RX but on the whole, design and manufacturing techniques have improved. Obviously technology has greatly advanced - quality of the headlights and reversing camera will be far superior to your RX, plus you will get things like HUD and blind spot monitors which are things that people don't feel are necessary but once they have them they are reluctant to do without them again.

Yes it should be rejected and the dealer shouldn't be hurt by this - Lexus GB need to take ownership and keep both you and the dealer happy as neither are at fault - it is a manufacturing defect and really should have been detected in QA before leaving the factory.

If the 12v battery is discharged then the alarm can incorrectly detect this has having its power supply being tampered with and will trigger the alarm - worth checking the voltage is showing over 12.2v, and ideally up at 12.6v.

well one has 341 bhp and the other has 471 bhp - in my book that is a substantial increase in power. Plus the one with more power has less weight so power/weight ratio is even greater. Possibly you are confusing a GS F with a GS450h F-Sport?

Do you have a series I or series II RX? 2003 was the changeover year. The NX is bigger than the series I and slightly smaller than the series II RX, not sure you would notice much difference.

Random and unrelated errors are normally associated with a discharged 12v battery, but normally expected at startup rather than once actually driving about. Is your 12v battery in good health/charge?

The Premium Sport has options from the Premium Plus Pack (such as Blind Spot Monitor) but doesn't have everything from the Premium Pack (doesn't have heated steering wheel) so pricing difficult to compare but it is essentially a special edition which normally provides value over the standard grades. The Premium Sport is the same price as a UX with Premium Pack + SatNav, or £850 more expensive if you don't add SatNav.

You can tell if the door has had a new outer skin as the welds and folder over of the edges won't be as neat as a factory issued door. You can see from the official body repair procedure that the door skin is sealed, folded, welded and painted in place. At the very edge though it is just to pieces of metal that are painted. If there is a tiny amount of flex over time then the paint will crack. Not something I've seen before though so maybe a unique issue for the series III RX doors/mistreated/or they have been repaired and the top plug weld near the cracking wasn't done.

Yes, they look original. There isn't anything in that area other than paint, as it is right at the point there the adhesive long the top stops, so could easily crack with age/usage. Worth getting touch up paint to cover over the crack.

It would be good to see a larger image and also the same pic from other owners. To me, especially the bottom pic, it looks like the doors have had new outer skins put on them because the seem doesn't look as neat as a factory pressed door - but too small an image to be sure.

Welcome to LOC Malcolm 🙂 The CVT noise (which is actually engine noise) is a common complaint of journalists. They are so use to a rising and fall engine note as you accelerate through the gears that it is just alien to them. Clearly if you drive your vehicle like you stole it, full on throttle all the time then with the engine always at 5000+ rpm it would get a little tiresome and noisy but that isn't how a hybrid is expected to be driven and not how 95% of people drive. I've yet to read a powerboat or jetski review where they complained about the engine note always being the same under hard acceleration and that they recommend it revs passed the maximum power rpm of the engine, then drops below it and climbs back up again several times, which is clearly less efficient, just so they can relate to their childhood of playing with matchbox cars on the living room floor but we continue to expect it for vehicles. Saying that the earlier NXs did seem to rev up more than other Lexus hybrids, and the newer ones don't do it as much.

yes and no 🙂 Very little current is needed to get the vehicle into 'Ready' mode so a small pack would be fine.
