  2. sounds like one of the servo motors is running - possibly the gearing has failed or is slipping on the shaft so the motor keeps running. Using the controls you should be able to determine if it is the motor that controls the cold/warm air mix or airflow positioning.
  3. After looking at the underside of my wife's 4 year old UX I'd recommend treating it if you intend to keep the vehicle for any length of time. It is starting to show corrosion on the seams of the pressed steel suspension arms, bolts etc at the rear. I don't believe they are well treated and will deteriorate over the years.

It would already be incorporated into the software that is loaded at the factory, and the damper that was retrofitted should have been introduced/design out in the facelift model so I feel you have a different issue - the old vibration issue occurred around 1,300 rpm so as soon as you changed your cruising speed by 2 mph the issue went away. I'd try and borrow a set of wheels just to test. You wouldn't be the first person to have had wheel balance and roundness checked but there was still a problem. What's the mileage on your vehicle. Seems too young for an issue with the prop bearings.

  8. Not sure exactly for the series II 400h, but the series III 450h is 34 Nm which I'd have thought would be similar.
  9. That's somewhat dependent on engine size. The Lexus F engine requires 8.8 litres with filter (7.9 litres without) - but stick to a 10k mile/12 month oil change interval. Not that Porsche is the purveyor of reliability anyway. Bore score, IMS bearing failures, premature oil seal leaks etc.
  10. Sorry to hear this. Was your vehicle a series III or series IV? It’s only the series IV typically from 2016 onwards that is vulnerable to a CAN bus attack (although technically you could have a very early build at the end of 2015).
  11. That sounds like the resonance issue the IS300h also suffered from but seems different to what the OP is experiencing. For what it's worth, my wife's 2020 UX250h doesn't have the symptoms Ian is describing (and she rarely uses anything other than supermarket fuel). Assuming it is engine, but not severe enough to trigger a fault, then I'd start by using a quality fuel injector cleaner to see if that helps.
  12. As per the official repair manual: The rear speed sensor is a component of the rear axle hub and bearing assembly. If the rear speed sensor malfunctions, replace the rear axle hub and bearing assembly. Not sure if the parts you are referring to are just the sensor wire. You can get aftermarket rear hubs which are much cheaper than a Lexus genuine part. e.g.: https://www.autodoc.co.uk/nty/20762606#wheel-hub Ideally you should correctly diagnose if the wire or sensor is at fault though, rather than just replacing one to see if it fixes the issue.
  13. The lane assist and keeping in the first and second gen Lexus safety system is pretty poor, which is what is fitted to the UX250h. At any reasonable speed you will just zigzag between lines. It's only the latest generation on the latest vehicles that is any good. The said, the detection of the lines should be okay. Make sure the windscreen is clean where the camera is and check if you windscreen is the original one - if it has been replaced then maybe the system wasn't calibrated correctly.
  14. The HHC is a semi automated test which connects to Toyota’s servers to authorise the test and send back results so the warranty is logged. It’s the backend that stops a Lexus vehicle being tested at a Toyota dealership. The test is no different between a Toyota or Lexus vehicle and your dealer has the equipment and skills required, they just aren’t authorised to carry out the work. They could in theory run all the individual tests but without the 12 month warranty extension there is little value in doing so.

I'm assuming your profile is correct and you are looking to purchase a 2020 model that is out of manufacture warranty and therefore: Only Lexus HQ can authorise Lexus Relax warranty claims so I'd recommend you check with them and not take the word of a salesman/dealer. Toyota dealers are typically locked out of accessing diagnostics on Lexus vehicles and they cannot register hybrid health checks to obtain the warranty. Even franchises that operate both (and share premises) still have to be careful in not bending the rules - e.g. only Lexus trained technicians performing certain tasks. Many Toyota dealers won't service a Lexus vehicle (even without offering a warranty) - they risk losing their Toyota franchise. Lexus has toyed with the idea of allowing all Toyota dealers to service Lexus vehicles but to my knowledge that hasn't happened yet. The main push back is that Lexus franchisees have to invest a lot money on facilities, training and demostrator/loan vehicles, more so than Toyota dealers. In return for their investment they expect a certain amount of service revenue and would not be happy for that to disappear.
  16. Technically it wouldn't invalidate the warranty, just that you wouldn't get the new 12 month warranty extension that only comes with a Lexus service. For a new vehicle covered under the initial manufacturer's warranty you can get it serviced anywhere provided they are competent and use parts of similar quality to OEM for the warranty to remain valid. This is the law (Motor Vehicle Block Exemption Regulation).

  18. Hopefully it is an immobiliser and tracker and not just a tracker as they can be defeated (especially one that can be traced as I'd assume they would all be installed in the same way). It would only be a deterrent if all ESs are fitted with the device and therefore the thieves would know not to bother attempting to steal it.
  19. Extended service intervals are mainly there to reduce running costs to satisfy fleet sales. That said, Toyota engines seem on average to easily achieve 200k miles with the standard 10k service interval in the UK (or 12.k fleet service interval). Given that most vehicles don't get to that mileage and in the manufacturer's eye this is the lifetime of the vehicle, there is no need to reduce that level.
  20. You are getting into a grey area here. You would be entirely correct for the manufacturer's warranty but not necessarily an aftermarket one where the issuer has the ability to put in more clauses and stipulations (because you have a choice what aftermarket warranty you go for), and especially one that you haven't actually purchased. However, yes they need to be able to back up their words with some evidence. If the oil used was within the spec given in the owners handbook and the procedure was carried out competently then there can be no comeback. If that isn't the case then your claim would be against whoever performed the intermediate oil change, not Lexus.

  22. Not driven the LBX but other Toyota/Lexus vehicles that have the same rear suspension setup as the FWD LBX have a worse ride for the rear passengers, the people in the front won’t notice much difference.
  23. They won't be needed. All modern Lexus headlights that use Xenon or LED illumination have a flat beam pattern so no correction is required.
  24. Agreed, a mineral oil wouldn't offer the protection required at those low viscosities. These ultra low viscosity oils really do push the boundaries of protection, all in the pursuit of economy.
