You have O2 or air/fuel ratio sensors before and after the primary cat, you have nothing after the secondary one. The item in the middle of your picture is the secondary cat which is No 1 in my picture (rear cat). This is the same set up as the Prius and CT200h. It is the rear cats that are being stolen, their primary cats are even more inaccessible than on the IS300h.

You have the primary cat in the exhaust manifold at the bottom of the engine bay and then you have the secondary cat under the vehicle.

Cat is in the middle of the vehicle. The pictures a few posts up is for the primary / first cat - these aren't the ones that are stolen, it is the secondary cat. They jack up the vehicle from the side.

It is calibration settings that get wiped and need to be relearnt. Those system don't have the expense of NVRAMs and for 99.999% of a vehicle's life it has a 12v battery connected to keep those memory parameters alive.

It has caught a few people out. They rely on the hybrid system to identify many of the faults that can occur itself and if fault codes have been reset (either purposely or due to a flat battery) then the full health of the hybrid system cannot be determined. Until the majority of self tests and conditions have been met that could expose a problem, health cannot be guaranteed so Lexus use a 500 mile minimum distance - by which point they are happy that if a fault hasn't occurred by then, the system is good.

Can only really obtain from How Many Left as Lexus stopped updating their total sales number in the RC F press releases. In 2020 there were 5 standard, and 4 track editions registered. No carbons.

That's true and one way to look at it. But at the same time Polestar sold more of its single model in the UK than Lexus did across their entire range in February.

Why? Makes no difference to Lexus if they make a LHD or RHD one on the production line, and there are a number of differences between a European RHD vehicle and a JDM one anyway. The 9 RC Fs sold in the UK in 2020 isn't going to have any say in whether to keep the vehicle available in Japan or not.

Unfortunately it isn't just a software setting, more a capability of the system. Only facelift RXs (built Aug 2019 onwards) with the upgraded Lexus safety systems are capable of setting the CC at 20 mph.

That may well be the case worldwide but Lexus GB or Lexus Europe may have decided to call it a day as they have with the new IS. I don't believe Jemca get any special information compared to other dealers but they are owned by Toyota so ....

It definitely needed a double press on my old RX400h. You can hear the additional locking when you press the key fob for the second time.

Only with a double press though. Only the early IS200s automatically double locked on single pressing the key fob, no other Lexus. It is deemed too dangerous as anyone in the vehicle cannot get out if they needed to.

Normally the deadlocks are activated if you press the lock button twice within a few seconds - it uses additional bolts to secure the door, and it stops someone breaking a window and unlocking the door from the inside. Depending on the vehicle you either need more force to move the deadlocks with the mechanical key or the mechanical key cannot unlock the door (not sure which of the two the SC430 falls into). My reference to the mechanisms becoming stiff over time is just related to the mechanical key/lock rather than the normal central locking via the key fob. Keys aren't used very often and therefore people can struggle with them when they suddenly do need to use them.

If you get your vehicle serviced at Lexus then the heath check is included in the service price. If you don't want Lexus to service your vehicle then you can just pay the £60 hybrid health check every 12 months/10k miles (whichever is first).
